Using scanning tunneling spectroscopy （STS） down to 0.3 K in B-fields up to 12 T, we investigate the local density of states of a two-dim.nsional electron system.（2DES） created by Cs adsorption on n-type and p-type InSb（110）. Cs induces a large band bending close to the surface creating a 2DES in the accum.lation/inversion layer, which exhibits a 2D Ferm. level in the inversion layer. The local density of states of the 2DES at B=0 T shows standing waves with wave num.ers in accordance with theory. In a perpendicular m.gnetic field the percolating drift states of the quantum.hall transition are observed within the disorder broadened Landau levels [1] （Fig. 1）. Using a highly p-doped sam.le we achieve a steep band bending potential showing Landau levels with a beating pattern attributed to Rashba spin splitting. A large Rashba param.ter of α= 7·10-11 eV m.can be estim.ted. Local dI/dV（V,B）-spectra at a less steep band bending exhibit an increased tip-induced band bending due the localization of states within the quantum.Hall regim., a Coulom. gap at the Ferm. level and indications of an exchange enhanced spin splitting.

Rituxim.b Im.roves Overall Survival in Patients Treated with CODOX-m.IVAC for Burkitt Lym.hom. (BL) and B-Cell Lym.hom., Unclassifiable, with Features Interm.diate between Diffuse Large B-Cell Lym.hom. and BL (BCL-U): A Single Center Experience and Review of the Literature

Background: Dose-m.dified (dm. CODOX-m.IVAC is com.only used for Burkitt lym.hom. (BL) and B-cell lym.hom., unclassifiable, with features interm.diate between diffuse large B-cell lym.hom. (DLBCL) and BL (BCL-U;previously Burkitt-like lym.hom.-BLL). m.thods: We evaluated the clinical characteristics, outcom.s and prognostic m.rkers in patients treated with dm.ODOX-m.IVAC+/- rituxim.b (R) at a single academ.c center. Results: 31 patients with BL (n = 21) or BCL-U (n = 10) were included. The m.dian age was 45, and 90% were high risk. The 2-year overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were 69% and 62%, respectively, with no differences between BL and BCL-U. By m.ltivariable analysis, rituxim.b use was significantly associated with im.roved OS (Hazard Ratio 0.15;95% CI 0.04 - 0.56) while elevated LDH (Hazard Ratio 2.84, 95% CI 1.52 - 5.29) and rituxim.b use (Hazard Ratio 0.054, 95% CI 0.01 - 0.32) predicted PFS. Conclusion: Dm.ODOX-m.IVAC+/- R chem.therapy provides equivalent survival for both BL and BCL-U patients. The addition of rituxim.b im.roves overall and progression free survival and is recom.ended.
