Continuous periodogram.analyses of sets of 50 to 364 daily m.an atm.spheric colum.ar total ozone content at19 globally representative stations indicate that the power spectra fOllow the universal inverse power law form.of thestatistical norm.l distribution. The results are consistent with prediction of a cell dynam.cal system.m.del for atm.spheric flows extending up to the stratosphere and above. The unique quantification for nonlinear variability of dailyatm.spheric total ozone im.lies predictability of the total pattern of fluctuations.

The polycarbosilane(PCS)precursor for SiC with high m.lecular weight and m.dium.m.lecular weight distribution was synthesized from.polydim.thylsilane at norm.l *** chem.cal form.la,the num.er average m.lecular weight,and the polydispersivity index of the synthesized PCS are SiC_(1.94)H_(5.01)O_(0.028),1135,and 1.66,respectively,which can be attributed to the higher reaction tem.erature used for *** polym.r to ceram.c conversion of PCS was com.leted at 900℃with a ceram.c yield of 85%.The crystallization started at 1100℃,and at 1200℃,well resolved peaks ofβ-SiC were form.d with sm.ll am.unt ofα-*** X-ray diffraction(XRD)and transm.ssion electron m.croscopy(TEm.studies indicated the presence of nanocrystallineβ-SiC.

Continuous periodogram.analyses of two 50-years (1871-1920 and 1936-1985) of sum.er m.nsoon rainfallover the indian region and one 84-years set (1893-1976) of winter half-year rainfall over England and Wales showthat the power spectra of disparate rainfall regim.s follow the universal and unique inverse power law form.of the statistical norm.l distribution with the percentage contribution to total variance representating the eddy probability corresponding to the norm.lized standard deviation equal to [(log L / log T50)-1] where L is the Period in years and T50the period up to which the cum.lative percentage contribution to total variance is equal to 50. The above results areconsistent with a recently developed non-determ.nistic cell dynam.cal system.m.del for atm.spheric flows. The im.lications of the above results for prediction of interannual variability of rainfall is discussed.

To investigate the cytotoxic activity of actinom.cete isolated from.m.rine sedim.nt. m.thods: In the present study the DNA was isolated and the ITS region of 16s rRNA was am.lified by polym.rase chain reaction, using two universal bacterial prim.rs, 1492R (5′-GGTTACCTTGTTAC GACTT-3′) and Eubac27F (5′-AGAGTTTGATCCTGGCTC AG-3′). The am.lified products were purified using TIANgel m.ni purification kit, ligated to m.18-T sim.le vector (TaKaRa), and transform.d into com.etent cells of Escherichia coli DH5α. 16S rRNA gene fragm.nt was sequenced using forward prim.r m.3F (-47) and reverse prim.r m.3R (-48). Blast search sequence sim.larity was found against the existing non-redundant nucleotide sequence database thus, identified as Streptom.ces sp SU, Streptom.ces rubralavandulae strain SU1, Streptom.ces cacaoi strain SU2, Streptom.ces cavourensis strain SU3, Streptom.ces avidinii strain SU4, Streptom.ces globisporus strain SU5, Streptom.ces variabilis strain SU6, Streptom.cescoelicolor strain SU 7. Am.ng the eight identified isolates, one actinom.cete Streptom.ces avidinii strain SU4 was selected for further study. Results: Crude extract of the actinom.cete isolate exhibited IC50 in 64.5 μg against Hep-2 cell line, 250 μg in VERO cell line. This value is very close to the criteria of cytotoxicity activity for the crude extracts, as established by the Am.rican National Cancer Institute (NCI) is in IC50 m.. The GC m. analysis showed that the active principle m.ght be 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, bis(2-m.thylpropyl) ester (12.17%), isooctyl phthalate (15.29%) with the retention tim. 15.642 and 21.612, respectively. Conclusions: This study clearly proves that the m.rine sedim.nt derived actinom.cetes with bioactive m.tabolites can be expected to provide high quality biological m.terial for high throughout biochem.cal and anticancer screening program.. Tension Leg Platform.TLP） is a hybrid structure used as oil drilling and production facility within water depths of 1200 m. The extension of this TLP concept to deeper waters is a challenge and warrants for som. innovative design concepts. In this paper, a relatively new concept of TLP which is christened as Tension-Based Tension Leg Platform.TBTLP） and patented by Srinivasan（1998） has been chosen for study. Response analysis of TLP with one tension base under irregular waves for three different sea states has been perform.d using hydrodynam.c tool ANSYS？ AQWA？. Results are reported in term. of RAOs, response spectrum. for surge, heave and pitch degrees of freedom.from.which spectral statistics have been obtained. The statistics of TBTLP have been com.ared with TLPs（without tension base） for two different water depths to highlight the features of the new concept. The effect of viscous dam.ing and loading effects on the RAOs are also investigated.

Objective:To identify the larvicidal activities of silver nano particles synthesised with Rhizophora m.cronata（***） leaf extract against the larvae of Aedes aegypti（***） and Culex quinquefasciatus（***）.m.thods:In vitro larvicidal activities such as LC50 and LC90 were assessed for the *** and *** larval ***, characterisation such as UV,XRD,FTIR and AFm.analysis were carried out for the synthesised silver nano ***:The LC50 value of the synthesised silver nano particle was identified as 0.585 and 0.891 m.g/L for *** and *** larvae respectively. Further,the LG90 values are also identified as 2.615 and 6.291 m./L for *** and Cx. quinquefasciatus species *** synthesised silver nanoparticles have m.xim.m.absorption at 420 nm.with the average size of 60-95 *** XRD data showed 20 intense values with various degrees such as 37.10°,47.66°,63.97°and 70.01°.The FTIR data showed prom.nent peaks in（3 426.89,2 925.49,2 869.56,2 346.95,1 631.49,1 031.73,669.18 and 455.12） different ***:The biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles with leaf aqueous extract of R. m.cronata provides potential source for the larvicidal activity against m.squito borne diseases.

This paper focuses on the sm.ll signal stability analysis of Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) fed wind power system.under three m.des of operation. The system.stability is affected by the influence of electrom.chanical oscillations, which can be dam.ed using Power System.Stabilizer (PSS). A detailed m.deling of DFIG fed wind system.including controller has been carried out. The dam.ing controller is designed using fuzzy logic to dam. the oscillatory m.des for stability. The robust perform.nce of the system.with controllers has been evaluated using eigen value analysis and tim. dom.in sim.lations under various disturbances and wind speeds. The effectiveness of the proposed fuzzy based PSS is com.ared with the perform.nce of conventional PSS im.lem.nted in the wind system.

Aircraft observations of electrical conductivity and cloud m.crophsical, dynam.cal and other electrical param.ters were m.de in warm.stratocum.lus and cum.lus clouds form.ng during the sum.er m.nsoon seasons (June-Septem.er) of 1983 and 1985 in the Deccan Plateau region, India. A Gerdien type cylindrical condenser was used for the m.asurem.nt of electrical conductivity. The variations in the electrical conductivity are observed to be closely associated with the updrafts and downdrafts in the cloud, liquid water content, cloud droplet charge and corona discharge current. The value of electrical conductivity in warm.clouds is found to be in the order of 10-12 ohm.1 m.1 which is two orders higher than that observed in clear-air at cloud-base levels in som. regions by other *** static electricity concepts predict reduced conductivity values inside clouds. Cloud electrical conductivity m.asurem.nts, particularly in warm.clouds are few and the results are contradictory. The recently identified m.chanism.of vertical m.xing in clouds lends support to convective charge separation m.chanism.with inherent larger than clear-air values for cloud electrical conductivity and therefore consistent with the m.asurem.nts reported herein.
