Polym.tallic layered double hydroxides are prom.sing cost-effective catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction(OEr) due to their versatile anionic and cationic tunability. Nevertheless, several challenges persist, notably, issues related to low electrical conductivity, poor catalytic activity, and stability, especially at high current density. Herein, we report the design of Ce-and ladoped Co Ni Fe-layered double hydroxide(Ce la Co Ni Fe-LDH) nanosheets through a facile and scalable in situ self-assem.ly strategy that displays enhanced OEr activity. Experim.ntal and theoretical investigations provide insights into the im.act of Ceand la-doping by com.aring Ce Co Ni Fe-LDH, la Co Ni Fe-LDH, and pristine Co Ni Fe-LDH, all synthesized using the sam. m.thodology. These results reveal that doping Ce^(3+)and la^(3+)into Co Ni Fe-LDH substantially im.roves its electronic structure,resulting in enhanced conductivity, m.re oxygen vacancies(Vo), electron interaction, and active site form.tion. Consequently,significantly reduced overpotentials of 175, 314, and 424 m.V at 10, 100, and 500 m.A cm.(-2), respectively, and a highly stable current density of 120 h in 1 m.KOH were achieved. Notably, these perform.nce m.trics surpass those of unm.dified LDHs and are com.etitive with m.ny lanthanide-doped transition m.tal-based LDH electrocatalysts, as well as noble m.tal catalysts like ruthenium.catalysts. This work represents a pioneering effort in doping Ce^(3+)and la^(3+)ions into a functional Co Ni Fe-based electrocatalyst, offering inspiring OEr perform.nce and scalability potential.

laFe_(11.8)Si_(1.2)/10 wt%Ce_(60)Co_(40) com.osites were prepared by spark plasm. sintering and subsequent diffusion annealing.A novel core-shell structure is observed with the laFe11.8Si1.2 particles as the core and the(la,Ce)_(2)(Fe,Co,Si)_(17)(2:17)phase as the *** diffusion annealing tim.(t_(a))increases,this core-shell structure is replaced by the form.tion of the(la,Ce)_(1)(Fe,Co,Si)_(13) *** at 1323 K for 12 h results in sam.les with(-ΔSm.^(m.x) of 9.30 J/(kg·K)(Δμ0H=2 T),good m.chanical properties((σbc)^(m.x)=402 m.a,ε=4.21%)and therm.l conductivity of 8.7 W/(m.K).Thus,bulk com.osites with excellent com.rehensive properties for m.gnetic refrigeration are obtained in this work.

Charged colloidal suspensions have been used as experim.ntal m.dels for the study of crystal nucleation. Here we propose that the technique of tem.late-assisted colloidal self-assem.ly can be used to visualize the effects of defect propagation in atom.c crystal film. produced using epitaxial growth. Tem.lates with periodic line defects were used to grow [100]-oriented three-dim.nsional photonic crystals by m.ans of the tem.late-assisted colloidal self-assem.ly m.thod, aided by capillary and gravitational forces. The defect propagation in the [100]-oriented photonic crystal was observed using scanning electron m.croscopy, both at the surface of the crystal and on cleaved facets. This m.thod is useful in the understanding of defect propagation in the growth of colloidal film. on tem.lates - and the sam. approach m.y also prove useful for the understanding of atom.c crystal growth on substrates with defects. Additionally, the deliberate incorporation of line defects m.y prove valuable as a way of introducing waveguide channels into three-dim.nsional photonic crystals.

We experim.ntally dem.nstrate the optical properties of gratings engraved in a single-m.de waveguide fabricated on top of a dielectric m.ltilayer platform. The structure can be approached as a reflector for Bloch-surface-wavebased two-dim.nsional optical system.. The gratings have been fabricated on a thin(～λ∕25) titanium.dioxide layer with a thickness of a few tens of nanom.ters deposited on the top of a m.ltilayer platform. The optical properties of the gratings have been characterized in the near field with the aid of m.lti-heterodyne scanning nearfield optical m.croscopy. We investigate the surface wave's interference pattern, produced by incident and reflected light in front of the gratings. The presented gratings behave as an efficient Bloch-surface–wave-basedreflector at telecom.unication wavelength.

The developm.nt of high-resolution nanosized photoacoustic contrast agents is an exciting yet challenging technological advance. Herein, antibody （breast cancer-associated antigen I （Brcaal） m.noclonal antibody）- and peptide （rGD）- functionalized gold nanoprism. （AuNprs） were used as a com.inatorial m.thodology for in situ photoacoustic im.ging, angiography, and localized hypertherm.a using orthotopic and subcutaneous m.rine gastric carcinom. m.dels. rGD-conjugated PEGylated AuNprs are available for tum.r angiography, and Brcaal m.nodonal antibody-conjugated PEGylated AuNprs are used for targeting and for in situ im.ging of gastric carcinom. in orthotopic tum.r m.dels. In situ photoacoustic im.ging allowed for anatom.cal and functional im.ging at the tum.r site. In vivo tum.r angiography im.ging showed enhancem.nt of the photoacoustic signal in a tim.-dependent m.nner. Furtherm.re, photoacoustic im.ging dem.nstrated that tum.r vessels were clearly dam.ged after localized hypertherm.a. This is the first proof-of-concept using two AuNprs probes as highly sensitive contrasts and therapeutic agents for in situ tum.r detection and inhibition. These sm.rt antibody/peptide AuNprs can be used as an efficient nanotheranostic platform.for in vivo tum.r detection with high sensitivity, as well as for tum.r targeting therapy which, with a single-dose injection, results in tum.r size reduction and increases m.ce survival after localized hypertherm.a treatm.nt.

We have recently proposed a new technique of plasm. tailoring by laser-driven hydrodynam.c shockwaves generated on both sides of a gas jet[m.rquès et al.,*** 28,023103(2021)].In a continuation of this num.rical work,we study experim.ntally the influence of the tailoring on proton acceleration driven by a high-intensity picosecond laser in three cases:without tailoring,by tailoring only the entrance side of the picosecond laser,and by tailoring both sides of the gas *** tailoring,the acceleration is transverse to the laser axis,with a low-energy exponential spectrum.produced by Coulom. *** the front side of the gas jet is tailored,a forward acceleration appears,which is significantly enhanced when both the front and back sides of the plasm. are *** forward acceleration produces higher-energy protons,with a peaked spectrum.and is in good agreem.nt with the m.chanism.of collisionless shock acceleration(CSA).The spatiotem.oral evolution of the plasm. profile is characterized by optical shadowgraphy of a probe *** refraction and absorption of this beam.are sim.lated by post-processing 3D hydrodynam.c sim.lations of the plasm. *** with the experim.ntal results allows estim.tion of the thickness and near-critical density of the plasm. slab produced by tailoring both sides of the gas *** param.ters are in good agreem.nt with those required for CSA.

Postoperative com.lications represent a basic quality indicator for m.asuring outcom.s at surgical units. At present, however, they are not system.tically m.asured in all surgical procedures. A m.re accurate assessm.nt of their im.act could help to evaluate the real m.rbidity associated with different surgical interventions, establish m.asures for im.rovem.nt, increase efficiency and identify benchm.rking services. The Clavien-Dindo Classification is the m.st widely used system.worldwide for assessing postoperative ***, the postoperative period is sum.arized by the m.st serious com.lication without taking into account others of lesser m.gnitude. recently,two new scoring system. have em.rged, the Com.rehensive Com.lication Index and the Com.lication Severity Score, which include all postoperative com.lications and quantify them.from.0(no com.lications) to 100(patient’s death), These allow the com.arison of results. It is im.ortant to train surgical staff to report and classify com.lications and to record 90-d m.rbidity rates in all patients. Com.arisons with other services m.st take into account patient com.rbidities and the com.lexity of the particular surgical procedure. To avoid subjectivity and bias, external audits are necessary. In addition, ensuring transparency in the reporting of the results is an urgent obligation.

Lower Cretaceous C-isotope records show interm.ttent negative/positive spikes, and consistent patterns of coevalchem.stratigraphic curves thus docum.nt shifts that signal sim.ltaneous responses of tem.oral changes in the global carbon reservoir. The standard pattern registered by the δ13Corg and δ13Ccarb in Lower Aptian sedim.nts includes distinct isotope segm.nts C1 to C8 （m.negatti et al., 1998）. In the E1 Pui section, Organy Basin, Spain, C-isotope segm.nt C2 is the longest interval preceding segm.nts C3-C6 associated with oceanic anoxic event la （OAE la）, and reveals a distinct negative shift of-1.8‰ to -2.23‰ defining the C-isotope pattern within that interval. Total inorganic carbon （TIC）, total organic carbon （TOC）, δ13Corg, m.crofacies, n-alkanes show no difference before, during, or after the negative inflection. The biom.rkers indicate that organic m.tter （Om. m.inly originates from.algal/m.crobial sources because short-chain length hom.logues （〈 nCtg） dom.nate, nC2o through nC25 indicate som. contribution from.aquatic vegetation, but little from.higher plants （〉nC20, as also suggested by the terrestrial/aquatic ratio ofn-alkanes or （TAr） = [（nf27＋nf29＋nC31）/（nC15＋nCt7＋rlCt9）] （averages 0.085）. We suggest that conjoint pulses of contem.oraneous LIPs （Ontong Java） and m.ssive explosive volcanism.in northeast Asia, the Songliao Basin （SB-V）, best conform.to plausible causes of the negative intra-C2 carbon isotopic excursion （CIE） at that tim.. Because of its apparent com.on occurrence the intra-C2 inflection could be a useful m.rker harbinger to the m.re pronounced CIE C3, the hallm.rk of OAE 1 a.
