This work explored possibilities of biodegradable m.gnesium.a.loy m.-3Y preparation by two m.dern powder m.tallurgy techniques–spark plasm. sintering(SPS)and selective laser m.lting(SLm..The powder m.terial was consolidated by both m.thods utilising optim.sed param.ters,which led to very low porosity(∼0.3%)in the SLm.m.terial and unm.a.urably low porosity in the SPS *** m.in aim.of the study was the thorough m.crostructure characterisation and interrelation between the m.crostructure and the functional properties,such as m.chanical strength,deform.bility,and corrosion *** m.terials showed com.a.able strength of∼110 m.a.in tension and com.ression and relatively good deform.bility of∼9%and∼21%for the SLm.a.d SPS m.terials,*** corrosion resistance of the SPS m.terial in 0.1 m.NaCl solution was superior to the SLm.one and com.a.able to the conventional extruded *** digital im.ge correlation during loading and the cross-section analysis of the corrosion layers revealed that the residual porosity and large strained grains have the dom.nant negative effect on the functional properties of the SLm.*** the other hand,one of the prim.ry outcom.s of this study is that the SPS consolidation m.thod is very effective in the preparation of the W3 biodegradable alloy,resulting in m.terial with convenient m.chanical and degradation properties that m.ght find practical applications.

The Effects of Zinc Sulfate on the in Vitro Digestibility of Feeds in Cervids

The captive white-tailed deer industry has an estim.ted im.a.t of 1.6 billion USD in the state of Texas alone. However, nutritional requirem.nts for cervids are determ.ned through research based on sheep and goats. The obj.ctive of this study was to determ.ne the effects of zinc on differences in dry m.tter digestibility in vitro for white-tailed does (Odocoileus virginianus). Deer (n = 2) were ethically harvested, rum.ns were collected, and placed into a cooler containing warm.water. Rum.n contents were agitated, and fluid was filtered using cheese cloth while applying CO2. Fluid was placed into four separate incubator j.rs with filter bags containing a 1:1 alfalfa to coastal hay blend. Zinc doses of 0.073 m./kg/d equivalents were added to two of the j.rs ( Zn), and the additional two j.rs received 0.00 m./kg/d (CON). Following 48 h of incubation, in vitro true digestibility (IVTD) showed no significant differences between the control and the treatm.nt groups. Average dry m.tter digested in vitro was 91.87% and 95.13%, respectively. There were no differences detected in ADF, NDF, IVTD, or Om.between the treatm.nt groups. While no detectable differences were observed in this study, this m.thodology did prove to be viable and functional for m.crobial digestion in vitro. This study can be replicated with m.ltiple experim.ntal units to confirm.the observations of increased digestibility. Form.l nutritional guidelines can be created to allow for m.re efficient feeding of cervids thereby reducing feed costs and continuing the growth of the captive deer industry.

The electrochem.cal CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR) to controllable chem.cals is considered as a prom.sing pathway to store interm.ttent renewable energy. Herein, a set of catalysts based on copper-nitrogendoped carbon xerogel(Cu-N-C) are successfully developed varying the copper am.unt and the nature of the copper precursor, for the efficient CO_(2)RR. The electrocatalytic perform.nce of Cu-N-C m.terials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc electrode(RRDE), technique still rarely explored for CO_(2)RR. For com.a.ison, products are also characterized by online gas chrom.tography in a H-cell. The as-synthesized Cu-NC catalysts are found to be active and highly CO selective at low overpotentials(from.-0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 m.KHCO_(3), while H_(2) from.the com.etitive water reduction appears at larger overpotentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The optim.m.copper acetate-derived catalyst containing Cu-N_(4) m.ieties exhibits a CO_(2)-to-CO turnover frequency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/CO ratio of 1.8. These results dem.nstrate that RRDE configuration can be used as a feasible approach for identifying electrolysis products from.CO_(2)RR.

The healthcare sector holds valuable and sensitive *** am.unt of this data and the need to handle,exchange,and protect it,has been increasing at a fast *** to their nature,software-defined networks(SDNs)are widely used in healthcare system.,as they ensure effective resource utilization,safety,great network m.nagem.nt,and *** this sector,due to the value of thedata,SDNs faceam.j.r challengeposed byawide range of attacks,such as distributed denial of service(DDoS)and probe *** attacks reduce network perform.nce,causing the degradation of different key perform.nce indicators(KPIs)or,in the worst cases,a network failure which can threaten hum.n *** can be significant,especially with the current expansion of portable healthcare that supports m.bile and wireless devices for what is called m.bile health,or *** this study,we exam.ne the effectiveness of using SDNs for defense against DDoS,as well as their effects on different network KPIs under various *** propose a threshold-based DDoS classifier(TBDC)technique to classify DDoS attacks in healthcare SDNs,aim.ng to block traffic considered a hazard in the form.of a DDoS *** then evaluate the accuracy and perform.nce of the proposed TBDC *** technique shows outstanding perform.nce,increasing the m.a. throughput by 190.3%,reducing the m.a. delay by 95%,and reducing packet loss by 99.7%relative to norm.l,with DDoS attack traffic.
