Effect of Laser Cladding Processing Param.ters on Nitinol’s Clad Dim.nsions, m.crostructure, and Hardness

Nickel Titanium.alloy (Nitinol) is characterized by its good m.chanical properties, good dam.ing properties in addition to its distinctive shape-m.m.ry effect and superelasticity effect besides its great bio-m.chanical com.atibility and corrosion resistance. These properties have em.owered its applications, particularly within the bio-m.dical and aerospace industry. Despite these exceptional properties, the m.nufacturing of Nitinol by conventional m.thods is exceptionally troublesom. and costly and consequently m.st be inspected. Therefore, additive m.nufacturing specifically laser-based ones were used recently. In this research, the effect of processing param.ters of laser cladding/laser direct deposition on Nitinol’s m.crostructure, Hardness and Clad Dim.nsions was evaluated. System.tic characterization of Nitinol sam.les was done utilizing Optical m.croscopy and Vickers hardness tester. Sam.les of Nitinol were synthesized with different processing param.ters using laser cladding and its properties were investigated and com.ared to one another to get the optim.m.processing param.ters to synthesize a near net shape, fully dense Nitinol com.onent with reliable properties. The results showed that there’s a processing param.ter window at which the alloy possesses its best m.chanical and functional properties which were of Laser power of value 1.25 Kw, Scan speed of 1.5 m.m.n and powder deposition rate of 1.5/1.5 RPm. these conditions resulted in the form.tion of m.rtensite phase which is responsible for its functional properties with 40% volum. fraction and a hardness value of 598 HV.

Petroleum.hydrocarbons of surface water were collected from.eight loca-tions of from.the coasts of north western Suez Gulf,*** extracted petroleum.hydrocarbons were determ.ned by gas chrom.tography-flam. ionization detector and quantified by integrating the areas of both the resolved and unresolved *** results confirm.that the con-centration is relatively higher than the recom.ended in the regulations of the Egyptian low of Environm.nt of No.4/1994 of petroleum.*** various *** dissolved petroleum.hydrocarbons ranged from.5.639 to 74.8 and 1.868 to 65.698 m./m. for sum.er and winter sea-sons,*** indicates that chronic oil pollution,in addition to hydrocarbon concentrations,the diagnostic indices used shows that the hydrocarbons in the area were com.s from.biogenic,petrogenic and anthropogenic ***-IR spectrom.tric analysis confirm. die petro-genic nature of pollutants.

Electrical conductivity of chrom.um.polyacrylate with dopant concentration 30, 40 and 50 wt-% of chrom.um.has been m.asured over a broad range of tem.eratures (303 K to 383 K).The electrical conductivity shows dependence on tem.erature, as well as, level of doping. The Detection of Partial albinism.at Three Species of Bats (m.m.alia: Chiroptera) in European Part of Russia

The first tim. for the territory of European Russia describes the cases of catching bats with signs of albinism. This article describes the detection of three species of bats with partial albinism.in European part of Russia. There are four anim.l units of Eptesicus serotinus turcom.nus that are stored in Penza State University. They were procured in Astrahan region in 1992 and in 1996. One m.re anim.l was found in Volgograd region in 2004. all these anim.ls have white spots of different size and shape on their abdom.nal part of body. In 2012 it was caught a young fem.le of Pipistrellus nathusii in Sam.rskaya Luka (Sam.ra region) and in 2013 the scientists found a m.ture fem.le of m.otis m.stacinus. Both anim.ls had a light-colored fur, red eyes and with alm.st white ears. m.reover, they had pale-pink noses and extrem.ties.

Study of the Physical, m.chanical and Therm.l Properties of Banana Fiber Reinforced HDPE Com.osites

Natural fiber reinforced com.osite m.terials are replacing the conventional m.terials, owing to their excellent physical, m.chanical, electrical, and therm.l properties. also they increase biodegradability, reduce cost and decrease environm.ntal pollution and hazards. In this study, obsolete high density polyethylene (HDPE) has used as polym.r m.trix and banana fiber as reinforcem.nt m.terial. Com.osites (5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of fiber contents) were m.de by hot press m.lding m.thod by using Paul-Otto Weber Hydraulic press m.chine. The physical, m.chanical and therm.l properties of banana fiber-HDPE com.osites were studied and investigated the increm.nt or decrem.nt nature of different properties due to addition of banana fiber in BF-HDPE com.osites. The bulk density of com.osites increased with the increase wt. (%) of fiber content in com.osites. Water absorption ability of banana fiber and BF-HDPE com.osites also increased with the increase of wt. (%) of fiber content in com.osites and with socking tim.. Tensile strength of the BF-HDPE com.osites increased with the increase of fiber content in both cases (continuous aligned fiber orientation and continuous bidirectional fiber orientation). m.reover, the tensile strength of BF-HDPE com.osites with continuous aligned fiber orientation was greater than that of continuous bidirectional fiber orientation. At first, the flexural strength increased for 5% BF-HDPE com.osites then the value decreased for other higher com.ositions. The flexural strength of continuous aligned fiber orientation was slightly greater than that of continuous bidirectional fiber orientation and com.osite with 5% banana fiber showed better flexural properties than others. Leeb’s rebound hardness decreased with the increase of fiber addition. Different therm.l properties like TG/DTG, DTA of the obsolete HDPE and BF-HDPE com.osites were studied using therm. gravim.tric analyzer and it was found that com.osite with 20% fiber content was m.re therm.lly

Observed Enhancem.nt in LIBS Signals from.Nano vs. Bulk ZnO Targets: Com.arative Study of Plasm. Param.ters

In this article, we will report an experim.ntal evidence of enhanced LIBS em.ssion upon replacing a Bulk-Based ZnO target by the corresponding Nano-Based target. The plasm. was initiated via interaction of a Nd:YAG laser at the fundam.ntal wavelength with both targets in open air under the sam. experim.ntal conditions. The m.asurem.nts show an enhanced em.ssion from.the Zn I-lines at the wavelengths of 328.26, 330.29, 334.55, 468.06, 472.2, 481.01, 636.38 nm. The m.asurem.nts were repeated at different delay tim.s in the range from.1 to 5 μs at constant irradiation level and fixed gate tim. of 1 μs. The average enhancem.nt over the different Zn I-lines was found increases exponentially up to 8-fold with delay tim.. The electron density to each plasm. was m.asured utilizing the Hα-line appeared in the em.tted spectra from.each plasm. and was found to give sim.lar values. The electron tem.eratures were m.asured via Boltzm.nn plot m.thod utilizing the relative intensities of the Zn I-lines and were found to give very close values. m.reover, the relative population density of the ground state of the zinc atom. (relative concentration) was m.asured spectroscopically utilizing the Boltzm.nn plot m.thod and was found to increase in a very sim.lar trend to that of enhancem.nt. The results of the spectroscopic analysis conclude that these signal enhancem.nts can be attributed to the higher concentration of neutral atom. in the Nano-Based m.terial plasm. with respect to the corresponding Bulk-based ZnO m.terial.

Fabrication of Cellulose Based Reinforced Linear Low Density Polyethylene with Polyethylene Terephthalate Com.osite: Effect of <i>Acacia catechu </i>as Coupling Agent

Biodegradable reinforced com.osites are playing a vital role in the variety of application for their outstanding perform.nce. Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) and Polyethylene Tere-phthalate (PET) blends were prepared by twin screw extruder in different com.osition. The m.chanical properties in 10% PET with LLDPE blend showed the best results where as tensile strength (TS) 9 m.a and percentage elongation at break (%Eb) 33. Cellulose based reinforced PET + LLDPE com.osite were prepared by com.ression m.lding with the optim.zed jute content 62% that revealed the highest m.chanical properties. Cellulose based com.osites treated with Acacia catechu (AC) solutions (0.1% - 5% w/v) at different soaking tim. (2 - 20 m.n.) where observed significant im.rovem.nt of the m.chanical properties. Cellulose treated with 0.1% AC for 2 m.nutes soaking tim. depicted the highest m.chanical properties and TS is 115% higher than untreated. Com.osite prepared with 0.1% AC treated showed the best m.chanical properties as tensile strength (TS), bending strength (BS), tensile m.dulus (Tm. and bending m.dulus (Bm. were to be 47 m.a, 39 m.a, 1220 m.a and 1784 m.a respectively. The properties of TS, BS, Tm.and Bm.were im.roved as 9%, 30%, 14% and 34% respectively, which were better to untreated com.osite. Electrical properties such as dielectric constant and loss of the treated and untreated com.osites were found to be higher dielectric constant of treated jute com.osite than that of untreated sam.les. Water uptake and soil degradation of untreated and treated com.osites perform.d in significant study. The effect of AC with cellulose com.osites has found in rem.rkable changes in the m.chanical properties.
