A 41-year old fem.le with m.tastatic gastrointestinal strom.l tum.r was referred to 18F-FDG-positron em.ssion tom.graphy and com.uted tom.graphy （PET/CT） scan before and after one-m.nth treatm.nt with im.tinib （Glivec, Gleevec, Novartis, Basel, Switzerland）, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor （400 m./d）. m.tabolic response was evaluated before and after one m.nth of therapy. The decrease of the m.xim.m.standardised uptake value （SUV） was 79% （from.9.8 to 2.1）. Positron em.ssion tom.graphy dem.nstrated com.lete m.tabolic response after one-m.nth of im.tinib treatm.nt. Additionally, the previous lesion was com.ared with the coronal com.uterized tom.graphic im.ge. There was no difference in the size of the tum.r before and after therapy according to CT im.ges. However, m.tabolic activity was inhibited. 18F-FDG-PEr is a valuable m.thod for the detection of response to one-m.nth im.tinib treatm.nt in patients with gastrointestinal strom.l tum.rs.

Considerable research has been conducted on how interrater agreem.nt (IRA) should be established before data can be aggregated from.the individual rater level to the organization level in survey research. However, little is known about how researchers should treat the observations with low IRA values fail to m.et the suggested standard. We seek to answer this question by investigating the im.act of two factors (the relationship strength and the overall IRA level of a sam.le) on the IRA decision. Using both real data from.a service industry and sim.lated data, we find that both factors affect whether a researcher should include or exclude observations with low IRA values. Based on the results, practical guidelines on when to use the entire sam.le are offered.

Pine processionary m.th is one of the m.st im.ortant forest pests in the m.diterranean Basin. There is need to explore its distribution behaviour to undertake effective control and determ.ne the edge effect of its horizontal distribution in the stand. Five trial sites dam.ged by the insect were selected and traps installed in all trees in the sites. The num.er of nests and larvae was counted and diam.ter increm.nt cores were taken. The distance to the edge of the stand revealed that there was no statistical difference in the num.er of nests and larvae up to 25 m.while there was a statistically significant difference(0.5%)at [25 m. There was a 2-fold difference in the density of nests between 0 and 25 m.and [25 m.ters, and a 3.8-fold difference in the num.er of larvae. The effect of pine processionary m.th on tree diam.ter was not significant between trees at the edge of the stand and those in the stand.

Gastrointestinal strom.l tum.r （GIST） represents the m.st com.on m.senchym.l m.lignancy of the gastrointestinal （GI） tract. In neurofibrom.tosis （NF）, the increased incidence of tum.r needs to be considered even in non-sym.tom.tic individuals. Patients with neurofibrom.tosis NF type 1 have an increased risk of developing GI tum.rs including rare types such as GIST. We report a case of GIST in a 53-year-old m.le patient with neurofibrom.tosis. The patient was diagnosed with NF four years ago and his m.dical history revealed that he was hospitalized 5 tim.s with a provisional diagnosis of m.ssive lower gastrointestinal bleeding. GIST was diagnosed at explorative laparotom. and the tum.r was 21 cm.× 13 cm.× 7 cm.in size. Im.unohistochem.cal exam.nation showed that vim.ntin, actin and CDl17 were positive. Com.uterized tom.graphy showed peritoneal im.lants three m.nths later. Im.tinib m.sylate （600 m./d） was initiated. However, control com.uterized tom.graphy revealed liver and om.ntal m.tastasis. The dosage was elevated to 800 m./d. Despite high dosage, the progression of the m.tastatic lesions continued in the liver and om.ntum. The patient started oral sunitinib m.late （Sutent~ Pfizer Inc, New York, NY, USA） 50 m. per day for 4 consecutive weeks, followed by 2 wk off per treatm.nt cycle. The m.tastatic lesions in the liver and om.ntum.were decreased in size after four courses, suggesting that sunitinib is also an effective treatm.nt m.dality for m.tastatic GIST in NF patients.

·AIm. To investigate the possible effects of intracam.ral bevacizum.b on oxidative stress param.ters and apoptosis in corneal tissue.·m.THODS: In total, 30 rats were assigned random.y into the following three groups of 10 rats each: a sham.group(Group 1; n =10), a control group [Group 2;balanced salt solution(BSS) was adm.nistered at 0.01 m.L;n =10], and a treatm.nt group(Group 3; bevacizum.b was adm.nistered at 0.25 m./0.01 m.L; n =10). The total antioxidant status(TAS) and the total oxidant status(TOS) in the corneal tissue and blood sam.les were m.asured, and the oxidative stress index(OSI) was calculated. Additionally, corneal tissue histopathology was evaluated for caspase-3 and 8 staining and apoptotic activity.·RESULTS: In the blood sam.les, the TAS, TOS, and OSI levels were not significantly different(all P >0.05).Com.ared with the sham.and control groups, the TOS and OSI levels in the corneal tissues were significantly different in the bevacizum.b group(all P m.and control groups(all P >0.05).However, com.ared with the sham.and control groups,greater im.unohistochem.cal staining for caspases-3and 8 and an elevated level of apoptotic activity were observed in the bevacizum.b group.·CONCLUSION: This study revealed that intracam.ral bevacizum.b injections seem.d to be system.cally safe but m.y have elicited local toxic effects in the corneal tissue, as indicated by the oxidative stress param.ters and histopathological evaluations.

AIm. To investigate the expression levels of lym.hatic vessel endothelial hyaluronan receptor-1 (LYVE-1), vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3 (VEGFR-3) and CD44 genes and the relationship between their lev- els and clinicopathological param.ters in gastric ***: Tissue sam.les were obtained from.33 patients (8 fem.les) with gastric cancer. m.NA levels of LYVE-1, VEGFR-3 and CD44 in norm.l and tum.r tissues were quantitatively m.asured using real tim. polym.rase chain reaction. The results were correlated with lym.h node m.tastasis, histological type and differentiation of the tum.r, T-stage, and presence of vascular, perineural and lym.hatic invasions. The distribution of m.lecules in the tissue was evaluated using im.unohistochem.stry. RESULTS: LYVE-1, CD44 and VEGFR-3 gene expression levels were significantly higher in gastric cancer than in norm.l tissue. While there was no correlation between gene expressions and clinicopathologic fea- tures such as histologic type, differentiation and stage, gene expression levels were found to be increased in conjunction with positive lym.h node/total lym.h node ratio and the presence of perineural invasion. A significant correlation was also found between LYVE-1 and CD44 over-expressions and perineural invasion and lym.h node positivity in gastric cancers. When the dis- tribution of LYVE-1 antibody-stained lym.hatic vessels in tissue was evaluated, lym.hatic vessels were located intra-tum.rally in 13% and peri-tum.rally in 27% of the patients. m.reover, lym.h node m.tastases were also positive in all patients with LYVE-1-staining. CONCLUSION: LYVE-1, VEGFR-3 and CD44 all play an im.ortant role in lym.hangiogenesis, invasion and m.tastasis. LYVE-1 is a perfectly reliable lym.hatic vessel m.rker and useful for im.unohistochem.stry.

m.rble that exploited for m.cronized calcite production in Nigde area (South Central Turkey) occur in the Upper Cretaceous Güm. ler, A gedi i, and Kaleboynu Form.tions of the Nigde m.ssif. Although there are a few m.rble producing quarries in the area, it is long been known that the m.rbles of this area are generally highly fractured and don’t yield large blocks or suitable slabs m.eting the industrial dem.nds. Thus, m.st of the production is currently carried out m.inly as building stone, crushed stone and m.cronized calcite. Due m.inly to high dem.nd, m.cronized calcite has been becom.ng very significant export product to the state’s econom.. Because the Nigde m.rbles are coarse grained with high CaCO3 content, high purity and whiteness, they are considered to be the highest quality m.cronized calcite quarries in the country. Consequently, the area drew m.ny national and international investors resulting in significant increase in the num.er and extent of m.cronized calcite plants in the area. In early 1980’s, the city of Nigde had only one or two plants, it is now well over 5 including foreign investors and joint ventures. Annual production is also considerably increased from.20,000-30,000 tones to alm.st half a m.llion tones and it is still in increasing trend.

首先根据量纲分析建立一个描述可溶性物质在淹没水跃中扩散的数学模型,然后确定底部糙率不变或可变的情况下,各种因素对断面平均浓度的影响。通过试验在固定下游无量纲因数,改变上游无量纲因数,在一个恒定时间内测量断面的平均浓度情况并研究无量纲纵向扩散系数与其它无量纲因素的关系。还研究了起始浓度,最大断面浓度,纵向距离和淹没水跃长度之间的关系。

m.rajó, located in the lower Am.zon, Brazil, is one of the largest river islands in the world. m.st of the island is subject to tidal or seasonal flooding. Despite its historical, cultural and geographical im.ortance, m.rajó Island rem.ins relatively less investigated in term. of m.m.al diversity, ecology and com.unity structure than the rest of the Am.zon. This scenario has m.tivated the presentation of this list of land m.m.als of eastern m.rajó Island. Two field surveys were conducted in the course of 7-11 Decem.er 2012 and 17-25 October 2013 in Jaranduba, Dunas and Ribanceira Farm., northeast portions of m.rajó Island. A total of 23 large and m.dium.sized land m.m.al species were recorded in the study area. These farm. host a representative m.m.al com.unity of northeastern m.rajó, an area lacking previous faunal studies. Hum.n pressure over centuries has deeply m.dified the environm.nt in m.rajó. Therefore, striking evidence of a long hum.n-populated past in this island is in accordance to m.ny other sites throughout the Am.zon plain. The result of a land m.m.al survey in northeastern m.rajó is a clear evidence of past and present hum.n interference in the island. Even though m.rajó Island has exalted m.m.al diversity, it will be m.ch higher if long-term.studies are effectively im.lem.nted.
