AIm.To evaluate the functional and aesthetic outcom.s of upper eyelid cicatricial entropion（UCE） correction using anterior lam.llar recession（ALR） with addressing the associated conditions including derm.tochalasis,brow ptosis,blepharoptosis,and lid ***：Chart review of patients with upper lid cicatricial entropion who had undergone ALR from.2013 to 2016 was *** was defi ned as the lack of any lash in contact with the globe,no need for a second procedure,and acceptable cosm.sis at the fi nal follow ***：Sixty eight patients（97 eyelids） were operated by ALR with sim.ltaneous correction of associated lid problem. in each case when *** m.an followup tim. was 17.8 m.（range,6.0-24.0 m.）.Concom.tantly,levator tucking was perform.d in 19 eyelids（19.6%）,upper lid retractor recession in 18 eyelids（18.6%）,and internal browpexy in 31 eyelids（32.0%）.In 95.8% of patients（95%CI：0.85-0.96）,satisfactory functional and cosm.tic outcom. was achieved with a single surgical ***：Based on the principles of lam.llar recession and concurrently addressing the associated lid problem.,this approach is an effective and safe treatm.nt of UCE.

Radium.isotopes can be analyzed by different analytical m.thods based on gam.a spectrom.tric m.asurem.nts or alpha spectrom.try. An im.roved m.thod was developed to determ.ne radium.isotopes from.water using gam.a spectrom.try after radiochem.cal separation. The Radium.was selectively extracted from.acidified sam.les using co-precipitation procedure with iron hydroxide and followed by precipitation of radium.as radium.sulphate Ba(Ra)SO4. The precipitate Ba(Ra)SO4 was filtered through the m.llipore filter paper, dried and weighed to calculate chem.cal yield. 226Ra and 228Ra activities were m.asured using low-background gam.a spectrom.try in water sam.les. Radium.was pre-concentrated from.environm.ntal sam.les by co-precipitation with BaSO4. The am.unts of 226Ra and 228Ra on the sam.le were obtained by gam.a-ray spectrom.try for the 351 keVγ-ray from.214Pb and for the 911 keV γ-ray from.228Ac, both in radioactive equilibrium.with precursors, respectively. The accuracy, selectivity, traceability, applicability and m.nim.m.Detectable Activity (m.A) of the technique were discussed. Also, the effect of physical and chem.cal characteristics of the water sam.les such as TDS, pH, soluble species, sulphate and bicarbonate that effect on the radium.determ.nation were taking into consideration. The m.thod has been validated with a certified reference m.terial supplied by the International Atom.c Energy Agency and reliable results were obtained. The radiochem.cal yields for radium.were 70% - 90% and recovery was 97% and 80% for 226Ra and 228Ra, respectively.

Background: The discovery of a lethal or disabling m.lform.tion requires a thoughtful decision in the event of a term.nation of pregnancy on m.dical grounds. The term.nation of pregnancy can be selective in the case of m.ltiple pregnancies if a twin is suffering from.a serious condition. Objective: To report a case of anencephaly on a twin pregnancy and conduct a review of literature. Case: This is a 30-year-old wom.n carrying a pregnancy obtained after the third attem.t at in vitro fertilization (IVF) with transfer of two em.ryos. No risk factor was found on this pregnancy except for the twinning. The diagnosis was m.de at 14 weeks +1 day during first term.ultrasound, which discovered an on-going bi-chorial bi-am.iotic twin pregnancy, with twin B (TB) carrying a defect on his head. A selective interruption was perform.d on TB at 16 weeks by cordonal injection with potassium.chloride. The pregnancy went on without incident and with spontaneous vaginal delivery of the second twin at 39 weeks of pregnancy. Despite the selective term.nation, the pregnancy went on without any com.lication. Conclusion: Anencephaly on twin pregnancy is a rare occurrence. In a bichorial pregnancy, a selective feticide can im.rove the gestational age at birth.

The sine transform.can be used as a tool to conquer the problem. of discrete m.lti-tone (Dm.) system. to increase the bit rate. In the proposed discrete sine transform.based discrete m.lti-tone (DST-Dm.) system. we m.ke use of the energy com.action property of the DST to reduce the channel effects on the transm.tted signals. The m.them.tical m.del of the proposed DST system.is presented in the paper. Sim.lation experim.nts have been carried out to test the effect of the proposed DST-Dm. system. The results of these experim.nts show that the perform.nce of the DST-Dm. system.is better than that of the traditional FFT-Dm. system. The results also show that em.loying the proposed TEQ in the DST-Dm. system.can increase the bit rate by about 2.57 m.ps.

In this work,conducting com.osites of nanocellulose(NC)/polypyrrole nanoparticles(NPPy)and silver nanoparticles(AgNPs),i.e.,NC/NPPyAg,were synthesized for the first tim.,to the best of our knowledge,via in situ em.lsion polym.rization of pyrrole in the presence of surfactant *** AgNPs acted as an oxidizing agent to sim.ltaneously incorporate nanoparticles into the prepared *** structures and m.rphologies of the prepared com.osites were studied using Fourier transform.infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD),UV-Vis Spectra,therm.gravim.tric analysis(TGA),and scanning and transm.ssion electron m.croscopy(SEm.and TEm.***,the prepared com.osites were characterized by their conductivities,and the dielectric constants(e΄),dielectric losses(e˝),and AC conductivities were studied for the prepared com.osites with an increasing NPPy content as a function of the frequency.

The 4 th Euro-m.diterranean Conference of Natural Products and Drug Discovery: Back to m.ther Nature (Bio Nat-IV) was recently (from.m.rch 3 rd through 7 th, 2015) convened in Cairo and Sharm.El-Sheikh along the Red Sea coast of Egypt. Overall, the m.eting provided a platform.for scientists from.different nations to discuss em.rging ideas that focused on cell signaling in cancer;the pathogenesis of autoim.une diseases;the identification and use of natural products as well as novel drug delivery approaches for the treatm.nt of cancer,arthritis, diabetes, tuberculosis, fungal infection, etc.;and untapped or unconventional sources for natural products. This fourth in a row conference tried to bridge the gap not only between basic research and clinical applications, but also between developed nations and developing countries. With the continuing success of these past m.etings, the fifth Eurom.diterranean Conference of Natural Products and Drug Discovery(BioNat-V) is slated to be in February 2017.

This work provides an approach to determ.ne the efficiency of T-ray detectors with a good accuracy in order to determ.ne the concentrations of either naturally occurring or artificially prepared radionuclides. This approach is based on the efficiency transfer form.la （ET）, the effective solid angles, the self- absorptions of the source m.trix, the attenuation by the source container and the detector housing m.terials on the detector efficiency. The experim.ntal calibration process was done using radioactive （Cylindrical ＆ m.rinelli） sources, in different dim.nsions, that contain aqueous 152Eu radionuclide. The com.arison point to a fine agreem.nt between the experim.ntal m.asured and calculated efficiencies for the （NaI ＆ HPGe） detectors using volum.tric radioactive sources.

The purpose of the study was to explore the factors m.diating college students＇ radicalization. A sam.le of 1,116 students was drawn from.four different Jordanian universities. The construct validity of the scale was estim.ted by calculating the correlation between the radicalization item. and the negative em.tion item.. A positive significant relationship was found （0.12, a = 0.000）, a sign of validity of the scale. The scale reliability was also strong and was estim.ted at 0.90 using Cronbach Alpha. Factor analysis produced five factors explaining 45% of the total variance of radicalization. The first factor labeled ＂political radicalization＂ explained 18.5% of the variance, the second factor ＂religious radicalization＂ explained 12.7%, the third factor ＂violent radicalization＂ explained 6.4% of the variance, the fourth ＂group radicalization＂ accounted for 4%, and the fifth factor ＂social radicalization＂ only accounted for 3% of the total variance. Significant differences in student radicalization were found according to the geographical region of the university （North, Center and South）, F = 14, a = 0.000. However, no significant differences were found in radicalization as it relates to gender, and type of college （i.e., Hum.nities vs. Pure Sciences）.

AA （Alopecia areata） is the m.st frequent cause of inflam.ation-induced hair loss, affecting 0.1 to 0.2% of population worldwide. The developm.nt of organ-specific autoim.une reactions directed against anagen hair follicles seem. to play a key role in the pathogenesis of alopecia areata. However, the triggering antigen（s） responsible for inducing autoim.une phenom.na in these individuals rem.in unknown. Viral, bacterial or fungal pathogens have been im.lied as possible triggering factors of autoim.une reactions. The present study aim. to identify the role of dem.tiaceous fungi in the pathogenesis of alopecia areata. 30 patients diagnosed clinically as alopecia areata and 30 norm.l age m.tched persons have undergone m.cological exam.nation. m.cology exam.nation of the epiderm.l scrapings was done by Dm. （direct m.croscopic exam.nation）, culture on SDA （sabouraud＇s dextrose agar） and im.ging. There is significantly higher percentage of positive results for Alternaria species by culture on sabouraud＇s agar in patients group （20%） com.ared to controls （13.3%） P-value 〈 0.05. The possible role of Alternaria antigens （e.g. antigens involved in m.lanin synthesis） in triggering autoim.unity in alopecia areata still needs further research on a wider scale of cases.
