An accurate assessm.nt of host and pathogen gene expression during infection is critical for understanding the m.lecular aspects of host-pathogen interactions. Often, pathogen-derived transcripts are difficult to ascertain at early infection stages owing to the unfavourable transcript representation com.ared to the host genes. In this study, we com.are two sequencing techniques, RNAseq and enrichm.nt sequencing (RenSeq and PenSeq) of cDNA, to investigate gene expression patterns in the doubled m.noploid potato (Dm. infected with the late blight pathogen Phytophthora infestans. Our results reveal distinct advantages of cDNA RenSeq and PenSeq over traditional RNAseq in term. of target gene representation and transcriptional quantification at early infection stages. Throughout the infection tim. course, cDNA enrichm.nt sequencing enables transcriptom.c analyses for m.re targeted host and pathogen genes. For highly expressed genes that were sam.led in parallel by both cDNA enrichm.nt and RNAseq, a high level of concordance in expression profiles is observed, indicative of at least sem.-quantitative gene expression representation following enrichm.nt. © 2024 Crop Science Society of China and Institute of Crop Science, CAAS.

Dr. Wissam.S. Al-Hashim. has died. His daughter, Tara, reports that he was kidnapped early in the m.rning of August 24 while on his way to work. The ransom.dem.nded by his abductors was paid by his fam.ly, but to no avail. He died of two bullet wounds to his head. Because his identification was taken from.him. it took his fam.ly two weeks to find his body in a Baghdad hospital. Tragic indeed, and senseless.

In this paper, cold bulge form.ng of titanium.alloy Ti55 was investigated. This process was done successfully and titanium.alloy Ti55 was form.d com.letely. Also, in the num.rical work, this process has been investigated using Abaqus/ Explicit code. The results show that there is a good agreem.nt between experim.ntal and num.rical results. m.chanical properties of Titanium.alloy Ti55 have been investigated before and after bulge form.ng. The results show that m.chanical properties of titanium.alloy Ti55 have been im.roved during bulge form.ng. Also, hardness, and thickness variation tests of sheet m.tal before and after bulge form.ng were perform.d and the sam. results to m.chanical properties were obtained.

The III–V alloys and doping to tune the bandgap for solar cells and other optoelectronic devices has rem.ined a hot topic of research for the last few *** the present article,the bandgap tuning and its influence on optical properties of In1-xGaxN/P,where(x=0.0,0.25,0.50,0.75,and 1.0)alloys are com.rehensively analyzed by density functional theory based on full-potential linearized augm.nted plane wave m.thod(FP-LAPW)and m.dified Becke and Johnson potentials(TB-m.J).The direct bandgaps turn from.0.7 eV to 3.44 eV,and 1.41 eV to 2.32 eV for In1-xGaxN/P alloys,which increases their potentials for optoelectronic *** optical properties are discussed such as dielectric constants,refraction,absorption,optical conductivity,and *** light is polarized in the low energy region with m.nim.m.*** absorption and optical conduction are m.xim. in the visible region,and they are shifted into the ultraviolet region by Ga ***,static dielectric constant e1(0)is in line with the bandgap from.Penn’s m.del.

Integration of soil inform.tion system.(SIS) and interactive self-organizing data (ISODATA) was studied to establish proper agricultural developing zones in red soil region of southern China which are of crucial im.ortance to farm.rs, researchers, and decision m.kers while utilizing and m.naging red soil resources. SIS created by using ARC/INPO was used to provide data acquisition, system.tic m.del param.ter assignm.nt, and visual display of analytic results. Topography, tem.erature, soil com.onent (e.g., organic m.tter and pH) and condition of agricultural production were selected as param.ters of ISODATA m.del. Taking Longyou County, Zhejiang Province as the case study area, the effect of the integration and recom.endations are discussed for future research.

This paper presents an optim.zation algorithm.for the design of tied back retaining wall which is com.rised of the sam. three basic elem.nts: stem. toe and heel, where the stem.is hinged to the base and tied to the heel by m.ltiple tie rods at intervals along the wall. The aim.of this study is to find the values of design variables for this suggested type of tied back retaining walls which m.nim.ze the cost function subjected to constraints of the problem. The optim.m.design of such structure is conducted by using one of the nontraditional optim.zation m.thods, genetic algorithm.(GA). The form.lation of the problem.is based on the elastic analysis and the ultim.te strength m.thod of design as per ACI-318-2011 code. The built-in genetic algorithm.optim.ool of m.tlab program.is utilized to optim.ze the cost function of the wall. The cost of concrete, reinforcing steel, tie steel, form.ork, excavation, and backfilling works are included. The considered design variables are the geom.tric dim.nsions and the am.unts of reinforcem.nt for the base slab and stem.slab, as well as the am.unt of tie steel. The developed program.is utilized to perform.an extensive param.tric study regarding the height of wall, backfill soil properties, and m.terials properties including concrete, reinforcing steel, and tie steel. The backfill properties are represented by a pressure coefficient, which is a function of the unit weight and the angle of internal friction. Average expressions are calculated for the total cost and optim.m.dim.nsions as ratios of the wall height H2 which m.y be useful for the practical design of walls.

This paper introduces a novel single-phase asym.etrical m.ltilevel inverter suitable for hybrid renewable energy sources. The proposed inverter consists of two isolated DC sources and six power sem.conductor controlled switches. The suggested inverter is capable of generating seven-level output when the input DC voltage is taken in the ratio of 1:2. The higher m.gnitude DC source is fed from.Photo Voltaic (PV) panels, whereas the lower m.gnitude DC source is fed from.Wind Turbine (WT) driven Perm.nent m.gnet DC (Pm.C) generator. Both the renewable energy sources are connected to the inverter via two DC-DC boost converters connected in cascade (i.e. one for m.xim.m.power point tracking and another for DC-link voltage control). The proposed hybrid renewable energy source inverter is connected to single-phase grid via proper control system.. The com.lete system.is sim.lated using m.TLAB/SIm.LINK and the results are presented in detail.
