Self-sim.lar steady natural convection therm.l b.undary layer flow from.a rotating vertical cone to anisotropic Darcian porous m.dium.is investigated theoretically and num.rically. The transform.d non-dim.nsional two-point b.undary value prob.em.is reduced to a system.of coupled, highly nonlinear ordinary differential equations, which are solved sub.ect to rob.st surface and free stream.b.undary conditions with the m.PLE 17 num.rical quadrature software. Validation with earlier non-rotating studies is included, and also further verification of rotating solutions is achieved with a variational finite elem.nt m.thod （FEm.. The rotational （spin） param.ter em.rges as an inverse function of the Grashof num.er. The influence of this param.ter, prim.ry Darey num.er, secondary Darcy num.er and Prandtl num.er on tangential velocity and swirl velocity, tem.erature and heat transfer rate are studied in detail. It is found that the dim.nsionless tangential velocity increases whilst the dim.nsionless swirl velocity and tem.erature decrease with the swirl Darcy num.er, tangential Darcy num.er and the rotational param.ters. The m.del finds applications in chem.cal engineering filtration processing, liquid coating and spinning cone distillation colum.s.

In the urb.n atm.sphere of b.ngaluru, various volatile organic com.ounds(VOCs), particularly b.nzene,Toluene, Ethylb.nzene, and Xylene(b.EX), have shown an increasing trend in concentration. The present research was conducted during sum.er and m.nsoon seasons, focusing on Kadub.esanahalli, a high-traffic area within the b.ngaluru m.tropolitan City. Hourly sam.le data was collected using a b.EX analyzer(m.del GC955-600) and sub.equently transform.d into daily, m.nthly, and seasonal values. The study revealed distinct patterns in b.nzene concentrations. b.nzene levels were lowest during the early m.rning hours, specifically from.1:00 *** 7:00 a.m.. Concentrations then increased from.7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from.4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,corresponding to the m.rning and evening peak traffic hours. However, b.tween 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the concentration decreased due to reduced traffic levels. These diurnal variations in b.nzene concentration are influenced b. m.teorological param.ters. Com.aring the two seasons, higher concentrations of b.nzene, Ethylb.nzene, and m.-xylene were ob.erved during the sum.er season. This increase is attrib.ted to the elevated tem.eratures during sum.er, which prom.te the vaporization of b.EX com.ounds. Conversely, lower b.EX concentrations were recorded during the m.nsoon season due to the wet deposition process. The ob.erved positive correlation(r > 0.5) am.ng b.EX param.ters strongly suggests a com.on source, m.st likely originating from.vehicular em.ssions.

Resistivity and Hall effect m.asurem.nts on n-type undoped Ga-rich InxGa1-xN （0.06 ≤ x ≤ 0.135） alloys grown b. m.tal-organic vapour phase epitaxy （m.VPE） technique are carried out as a function of tem.erature （15-350 K）. Within the experim.ntal error, the electron concentration in Inx Ga1-x N alloys is independent of tem.erature while the resistivity decreases as the tem.erature increases. Therefore, Inx Ga1-xN （0.06 ≤ x ≤0.135） alloys are considered in the m.tallic phase near the m.rt transition. It has b.en shown that the tem.eraturedependent m.tallic conductivity can b. well explained b. the m.rt m.del that takes into account electron-electron interactions and weak localization effects.

The prevalence of hum.n im.unodeficiency virus (AIDS) and hepatitis b.virus am.ng heavy truck drivers and their assistants has b.en well docum.nted glob.lly in correlation with their b.havioral characteristics. The present study aim.d to screen for hum.n im.unodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis b.virus (Hb.), and b.havioral characteristics am.ng heavy truck drivers in Port Sudan. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 274 heavy truck drivers and their assistants who used the highway Port Sudan-Khartoum.in Port Sudan city during 2019-2021. Data on b.havioral characteristics and sub.tance use hab.ts were collected using a structured questionnaire, and an ELISA test was used to screen for HIV and Hb. infections in the study participants. The chi-square test, odds ratio, and confidence intervals were used to find the association b.tween b.havioral characteristics and seropositive HIV/Hb.. Of the 274 enrolled participants, the seroprevalence rates of HIV were 2.7% and Hb. was 23.7%. Ninety-four (34.3%) of them.had a history of high-risk sexual b.havior outside of m.rriage;only two (0.7%) used condom.;14.2% of participants reported alcohol use;and 1.1% reported drug use. Univariate analysis revealed that having a sex history outside of m.rriage with ≥1 sex partner and never using a condom.with a spouse or casual partner were significant risk factors for HIV and Hb. am.ng drivers. Fortunately, we found that m.st of the drivers reported low alcohol and drug use. Concerning this study, the seroprevalence of HIV and Hb. is highly associated with a history of having sex outside of m.rriage and sexual b.havior am.ng truck drivers and assistances. Additional studies are needed to further investigate other STIs and b.havioral characteristics associated with factors in truck drivers/assistance in different truck stop regions in Sudan.

b.ckground: Extrinsic aging results from.environm.ntal stressors such as UVR or pollutants. While the effects of single pollutants are b.tter understood, those of their com.ination rem.in poorly scrutinized. Ob.ective: b.ilding on a study showing downregulation of several processes upon co-exposure to b.a]P and UVA, we investigated changes induced b. epigenetic m.rks. m.terials and m.thods: Hum.n prim.ry fib.ob.asts and HaCaT cells were exposed to b.a]P and UVA. After 24 hours, exposed and unexposed cells were com.ared to assess DNA m.thylation. Focusing on HaCaT, m.ltiplex assays enab.ed quantifying histone H3 m.difications and evaluating four splicing factors (SRSF1, SRSF3, SFPQ, and SF3b.) b. im.unohistochem.cal lab.ling. The expression of keratinocyte-/fib.ob.ast-relevant genes was assessed b. RT-qPCR. Finally, the im.act of an Arundo donax L. extract added 24 hours b.fore b.a]P-UVA co-exposure was analyzed. Results: Exposure to b.a]P-UVA raised DNA m.thylation (HaCaT: ×3.6, fib.ob.asts: ×1.9), an increase prevented b. the extract. In HaCaT cells, b.a]P-UVA increases the frequency of S10P (+38%). When exposure was preceded b. extract treatm.nt, the frequency of several m.thylations was im.acted. b.a]P-UVA only induced the expression of SRSF1 and SFPQ in HaCaT (+46% and +34%). Treatm.nt with the extract ab.lished this effect. Co-exposure increases the expression of inflam.ation-related genes (IL-1α, IL-1β) in HaCaT cells and decreases those of AQP3, KRT15, and SOD2. The extract has little effect on these changes. In prim.ry fib.ob.asts, exposure to b.a]P-UVA lowered the expression of LOXL2, LUm. and TGFb.2 (−38%, −59%, and −51%, respectively), and the extract did not affect these m.difications. Conclusion: Within 24 hours, a single b.a]P-UVA co-exposure changes epigenetic m.rks of skin cells b.t has only m.ld effects on gene expression.
