Unusual head traum. is rare with various m.chanism. of occurrence. The injuries can b. sim.lar to those of road accidents b.t som.tim.s with significant com.lexities. The ob.ective was to determ.ne the frequency of this pathology in our practice, describ. the different m.chanism. and report the craniocereb.al lesions caused b. this type of traum.. m.terials and m.thod: This was a descriptive study with retrospective collection spread over a period of 3 years. After selecting the files, the patients and/or their com.anions were contacted b. telephone to inquire ab.ut them.and then returned to the consultation for reassessm.nt. Disease history and inform.tion were ob.ained from.patients’ m.dical records. Result: The frequency of this pathology was 1.78% and his incidence was 0.4 cases per m.nth. The average age of the patients was 13.47 years. All the victim. were m.le. 41.17% of patients were in school. The m.chanism. of traum. were the hoof b.ow 47.1%, the horn b.ow 29.4% and the stone b.ow 11.7% respectively. 23.5% of patients were confused and 11.7% children were in com.. One patient presented an anisocoria. The m.tor deficit was present in 5 cases. CT-scan m.de it possib.e to highlight a skull depressing fracture 58.8% and confirm.a craniocereb.al wound in 35.3%. The average tim. b.tween patient adm.ssion to hospital and com.letion of surgery was 24.5 hours. The surgery had consisted of the trim.ing of cranio-cereb.al wounds, exploration, duroplasty and lifting of skull depressing fracture. After 15 m.nths of follow-up, the evolution was favorab.e in 53.3%, the m.rb.dity was 33.4% and the m.rtality 17.6%. Conclusion: These are rare b.t serious conditions b.cause they are fatal and disab.ing. An early and m.ltidisciplinary m.nagem.nt can hope to have a good favorab.e.

Introduction: Acute otitis m.dia is an acute inflam.ation of the m.cosa of the m.ddle ear cavities. It is often secondary to nasopharyngitis, which favors the passage of infection through the Eustachian tub. to the m.ddle ear. The aim.of our study was to im.rove the m.nagem.nt of AOm.in the Paediatric Departm.nt of the Hospital National Ignace Deen (Conakry). Patients and m.thods: This was a prospective descriptive study lasting 6 m.nths from.01 July to 31 Decem.er 2011;the study covered 525 cases out of a total of 6276 children, i.e. a frequency of 8.36%. Results: The m.st affected age group was 6 to 11 m.nths. m.les predom.nated (69.71%). 82.29% had a history of recurrent rhinopharyngitis. The m.st frequent reason for consultation was incessant crying (66.29%). Rhinopharyngitis and m.laria were the m.st com.only associated pathologies (87.62% and 39.62% respectively). 72.19% of our patients were adm.tted with congestive AOm.and received m.dical treatm.nt. We recorded one case of otom.stoiditis which was treated surgically. Conclusion: AOm.is m.re com.on in children aged b.tween 6 and 24 m.nths. Good collab.ration b.tween paediatricians and ENT specialists is essential to reduce the m.rb.dity of AOm.

Ob.ective: Ultrasonography is a diagnostic im.ging technique used to visualize sub.utaneous b.dy structures for identification of possib.e pathologies. In this study, we aim.d to explore the clinical significance of high-frequency ultrasound in differentiating the location of b.isters b.tween pem.higus and b.llous pem.higoid. m.thods: Eighteen patients were recruited in Departm.nt of Derm.tology, Zhongda Hospital from.2020 to 2021 and divided into a pem.higus group (n = 8) and a b.llous pem.higoid group (n = 10) according to the diagnostic criteria for each. Ultrasonographic im.ges were collected using a 50-m.z high-frequency ultrasound system. The indexes of ultrasonic evaluation were the layer (epiderm.s or derm.s), size, shape, internal echo, and b.undary of the b.ister. Categorical variab.es are expressed as n (%), and differences were com.ared using Fisher's exact test. Results: The ultrasonographic im.ges in the pem.higus group showed an intraepiderm.l sem.-arc or irregular anechoic or hypoechoic areas. The inferior b.rders were situated ab.ve the characteristic thin linear hyperechoic b.nds of the epiderm.s. A linear hypoechoic b.nd was present at the derm.epiderm.l junction in som. cases. In the ultrasonographic im.ges of the b.llous pem.higoid group, the linear hyperechoic b.nds of the epiderm.s were continuous and intact. An oval fluid anechoic area (sub.piderm.l b.ister) was present im.ediately b.low the b.nds. With the increased interest of plants in space, gravity cannot b. ignored when studying soil-plant-water relations. Therefore, it is im.ortant to understand the water relations of soils under zero gravity in space or under reduced gravity on the m.on or m.rs. This paper outlines the prob.em. of m.ving water in soils under zero gravity or m.crogravity, as well as growing plants in these soils. It is suggested that m.crogravity experim.nts could b. done on Earth using b.th soils and plants. Results from.such experim.nts could b. used to grow plants when m.nkind estab.ishes b.ses on the m.on and m.rs.

Introduction: Children involved in road accidents m.st often suffer head or lim. injuries. The severity of these injuries varies according to the age of the child, the type of road user and whether or not protective devices are used. The aim.of this study was to carry out a census of adm.ssions and to identify the epidem.ological and clinical profile of children involved in road traffic accidents at Donka National Hospital. m.thods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study of children involved in traffic accidents over a 3-m.nth period from.Septem.er 1 to Novem.er 30, 2021. All children adm.tted to the em.rgency departm.nt for a traffic accident were included in the study. Results: During the study period, 435/530 children (82.1%) were victim. of road accidents. b.ys accounted for 54.94% of cases, com.ared with 45.06% for girls. The age group m.st affected was 12-17 years old (48.97%). Octob.r had the highest accident rate (36.4%). Pedestrians are m.st affected (52.87%). b.cycles and m.peds were involved in 59.77% of accidents. Head injury was the m.st frequent pathology (33.33%). The study showed that 12.64% of victim. were referred to intensive care, pediatric surgery, etc. We recorded 8 cases of death (1.84%). Conclusion: This study highlighted the characteristics, incidence and risk factors for accidents in children adm.tted to em.rgency departm.nts. Accident prevention, particularly serious accidents in children, requires m.re precise knowledge of the factors and circum.tances leading to their occurrence.

Introduction: Growth is a reflection of a child’s health and nutritional status. Children with sickle cell disease often have slower statural and weight developm.nt. The aim.of this study was to evaluate the nutritional profile of children with sickle cell disease (SCD) registered in the CEm.CO centre datab.se. m.thodology: This was a cross-sectional study with sim.le random.sam.ling of children aged 1 to 16 years registered in the clinic datab.se. Results: We collected inform.tion on 208 children, 121 of whom.had sickle cell disease and 87 of whom.were norm.l, with a sex ratio of 1.02. The m.an age of the sickle cell patients was 8.7 ± 4.4 years, while that of the non-sickle cell patients was 9.5 ± 4 years. Haem.glob.n electrophoresis revealed 103 hom.zygous (SS), 18 doub.e heterozygous (SC, Sb.taThal, SE) and 87 norm.l (AA) and/or sickle cell trait (AS) sickle cell cases. We ob.erved a significant difference in the height/age ratio (P ¥). Conclusion: The results of our study revealed stunted growth in children with sickle cell disease.

Introduction: Fib.oscan is a recent, non-invasive and non-irradiating diagnostic m.thod. It is b.sed on the principle of ultrasound, which enab.es liver tissue elasticity to b. quantified using a prob., and fib.osis to b. assessed. Fib.oscan m.asures b.th elasticity correlated with hepatic fib.osis and CAP correlated with steatosis. The aim.of this study was to evaluate hepatic fib.osis and steatosis using pulse elastom.try (Fib.oscan/CAP). m.thods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study in which 170 patients were included. It was conducted from.Octob.r 1 2021 to Decem.er 31 2023, i.e. 27 m.nths, in an outpatient clinic in the hepato-gastroenterology departm.nt of the Donka national hospital of the CHU Conakry. Results: Of the 170 patients identified, 87 were m.le (51%) and 83 fem.le (49%), giving a m.F sex ratio of 1.04. The average age of our patients was 40. The 30 - 50 age group was the m.st affected, with a frequency of 58.23% (n = 99), followed b. the 50 age group with a frequency of 29.41% (n = 50). Hepatom.galy, steatotic liver on ultrasonography, transam.nase elevation and ob.sity were the m.in indications, respectively: (21.76%), (17.65%), (14.71%), and (13.53%). The exam.nations were requested b. hepatogastroenterologists (47.06%), diab.tologists (35.88%) and general practitioners (29%). Of the 170 patients, 100 patients (58.82%) had no significant fib.osis F0F1, 39 (22.94%) had m.derate fib.osis F2, 20 patients (11.76%) had severe fib.osis F3 and 11 patients (6.47%) had fib.osis F4. Hepatic steatosis: 62 patients (36.47%) had no S0 steatosis;29.41% had S1 steatosis, 20% had S2 steatosis and 24 patients (14.11%) had S3 steatosis. Ab.om.nal ultrasound revealed a norm.l liver in 67.05% of patients, hepatic steatosis in 29.41% and non-decom.ensated cirrhosis in 6 cases. Indonesia's vast m.ritim. territory offers a unique opportunity for harnessing the potential Energy of seawater currents. This study explores the effectiveness of a com.ined Savonius and propeller-type turb.ne system. The Savonius turb.ne, known for its efficiency in capturing ocean currents due to its large sweep area, is com.ined with a propeller-type turb.ne to enhance rotational speed and power generation. A novel approach is em.loyed to induce turb.lence and optim.ze energy extraction, first channeling water through the propeller turb.ne and then into the Savonius turb.ne. A com.rehensive investigation is conducted through sim.lations and experim.ntal tests within a controlled tunnel environm.nt. The study explores the perform.nce of two-b.aded and three-b.aded Propeller-Savonius configurations at varying inlet water velocities (0.1, 0.3, 0.6 and 1.0 m.s). The sim.lation incorporates a turb.lence m.del with 5% intensity and a hydraulic diam.ter of 0.216 m. Results indicate that the proposed configuration achieves a m.xim.m.power output of 2.0293 W with an im.ressive efficiency of 63.339% in sim.lation. Concurrently, experim.ntal testing yields a peak efficiency of 61.335% and turb.ne power of 0.3951 W. The findings dem.nstrate the feasib.lity of the com.ined turb.ne system.and highlight the im.ortance of turb.lence in optim.zing energy extraction from.seawater currents. This research contrib.tes valuab.e insights into the design and perform.nce of hyb.id turb.nes for harnessing oceanic Energy, em.hasizing the potential for sustainab.e power generation in m.ritim. regions. The m.thodology and results presented herein offer a foundation for further exploration and refinem.nt of seawater current energy conversion technologies. The study com.ines a Savonius turb.ne and a propeller turb.ne to enhance rotational speed and power generation. CFD sim.lations and experim.nts docum.nt perform.nce at different water velocities.
