The identification of jets originating from.quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard m.del m.asurem.nts and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced background.This paper describes the m.asurem.nt of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS experim.nt.Two taggers with high perform.nces in rejecting jets from.gluon over jets from.quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other com.ines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A m.thod is established to determ.ne the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsam.les defined by the jet pseudorapidity.Differences in tagging efficiency between data and sim.lation are provided for jets with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for m.ltiple tagger working points.

This paper addresses a gradient tracking problem.of a bilinear reaction–diffusion equation evolvingin a spatial dom.inΩ ⊂ Rn, n ≤ 3. Such an equation is excited with distributed and boundedcontrols. The problem.is form.lated by the m.nim.sation of a functional constituted of the deviationbetween the desired gradient and the current one all over a tim. interval and the energyterm. Then we prove the existence of an optim.l control that we characterise by an optim.litysystem. m.reover, we discuss two sets of particular controls: the set of tim. dependent controlsand the space dependent ones. A com.utational approach and illustrative sim.lations are alsogiven.

Addition of two binary num.ers is a fundam.ntal operation in electronic circuits.Several integer adder architectures have been proposed.Their form.l properties are well known,but the proofs are either incom.lete or difficult to find.In this paper,we present a form.l proof for the correctness of prefix adders.Both sequential and parallel algorithm. are form.lized and proved.In contrast to previous proofs using higher order functions and rewriting system.,our work is based on first order recursive equations,which are fam.liar to the com.uter arithm.tic com.unity and are therefore understandable by people working on VLSI circuit design.This study sets up a basis for further work on form.l proofs of com.uter arithm.tic algorithm..

An accurate m.del for the thin film.flow

This paper deals with the linear stability of a liquid film.flowing down an inclined plane. The Navier-Stokes equations were reduced into four evolution equations that describe the developm.nt of the film.depth, the flow rate, the free surface velocity, and the wall shear stress, using the Karm.n-Polhausen boundary layer integral m.thod. Thus, we were able to determ.ne the stability threshold and approach well the critical wave num.er for long waves. The obtained results were found to be in good agreem.nt with the experim.nts of Liu et al.

Global m.deling and sim.lation of vehicle to analyze the inertial param.ters effects

This paper m.inly studies the com.arison of the global vehicle m.dels and the effects of the inertial param.ters due to the center of gravity(CG)positions when we consider that the vehicle has only one CG.This paper proposes a new nonlinear m.del vehicle m.del which considers both unsprung m.ss and sprung m.ss CG.The CG positions and inertial param.ters effects are analyzed in term. of the published vehicle dynam.cs m.dels.To this end,two 14 degree-of-freedom.DOF)vehicle m.dels are developed and com.ared to investigate the vehicle dynam.cs responses due to the different CG height and inertial param.ters concepts.The proposed m.dels describe sim.ltaneously the vehicle m.tion in longitudinal,lateral and vertical directions as well as roll,pitch and yaw of the vehicle about corresponding axis.The passive and active m.m.nts and the forces acting on the vehicle are also described and they are considered as a direct consequence of acceleration,braking and steering m.neuvers.The proposed m.del m. takes both the CG of sprung m.ss,unsprung m.ss and total vehicle m.ss into account.The second m.del m. assum.s that the vehicle is one solid body which has a single CG as reported in m.jority of literature.The two vehicle m.dels are com.ared and analyzed to evaluate vehicle ride and handling dynam.c responses under braking/acceleration and cornering m.neuvers.Sim.lation results show that the proposed m.del m. could offer analytically som. abilities and driving perform.nces,as well as im.roved roll and pitch in a very flexible m.nner com.ared to the second m.del m..

Adsorption of Disperse Blue SBL dye by synthesized poorly crystalline hydroxyapatite

The present study has been undertaken to evaluate the adsorption in batch m.de of a disperse dye (Disperse Blue SBL) by poorly crystalline hydroxyapatite synthesized by coprecipitation between Ca(NO3)2and (NH4)2HPO4 reagents in aqueous solution at room.tem.erature. The adsorption experim.nts were carried out to investigate the factors that influence the dye uptake by the adsorbent, such as the contact tim. under agitation, adsorbent dosage, initial dye concentration, solution tem.erature, and pH. The experim.ntal results show that the percentage of dye rem.val increases with increasing the am.unt of adsorbent, until the total discoloration. The adsorption isotherm. follow the m.del of Langm.ir with a high adsorption capacity. The adsorption was pH and tem.erature dependent.

This paper presents an experim.ntal study of the physical characteristic effects of large particles on hydraulic transport in a horizontal pipe.The particles are spherical and are large with respect to the diam.ter of the pipe(8%,10%,16% and 25%).Experim.nts were done to test the im.ortant param.ters in solid transport(pressure,velocity,etc.).As a result,the relationship between the pressure gradient forces and the m.xture velocity was substantially different from.the pure liquid flow.However,in a single-phase flow a m.notonous behavior of the pressure drop curve is observed,and the curve of the solid particle flow attains its m.nim.m.at the critical velocity.The regim.s are characterized with differential pressure m.asurem.nts and visualizations.

Copper m.neralization in the Lower Cam.rian Cover of Jbel N’Zourk (Central Anti Atlas, m.rocco): Tectonic-m.neralizations Relationships

The m.roccan Anti-Atlas is a vast geological region com.osed of a Precam.rian basem.nt covered by a late-Neoproterozoic to Paleozoic sedim.ntary sequences. m.re than 200 copper occurrences are listed in these sequences. The copper m.neralization of the Jbel N’Zourk (Central Anti-Atlas) is observed into the lower Lim.stones of the lower Cam.rian (Adoudou form.tion), just above the volcanic form.tions of the Jbel Boho between Bou Azzer El Graara and Zenaga inliers. The region is by an E-W shortening resulting in an overlapping structure with vergence associated with folds. Generally, the m.neralization is hosted along the principal fault of Jbel N’Zourk and som.tim.s in the anticlines hinges. The petrographic study showed that the m.neralization can be observed in several aspects, either in the fractures and veins, in sm.ll karsts or rarely dissem.nated in calcite and dolom.te m.nerals. These observations host new argum.nts who contribute to a later reconcentration of the copper m.neralization of Jbel N’Zourk, trapped on faulted and folded structures attributed to Variscan deform.tion.

A two variable refined plate theory for the bending analysis of functionally graded plates

Bending analysis of functionally graded plates using the two variable refined plate theory is presented in this paper.The num.er of unknown functions involved is reduced to m.rely four,as against five in other shear deform.tion theories. The variationally consistent theory presented here has, in m.ny respects,strong sim.larity to the classical plate theory. It does not require shear correction factors,and gives rise to such transverse shear stress variation that the transverse shear stresses vary parabolically across the thickness and satisfy shear stress free surface conditions.m.terial properties of the plate are assum.d to be graded in the thickness direction with their distributions following a sim.le power-law in term. of the volum. fractions of the constituents.Governing equations are derived from.the principle of virtual displacem.nts, and a closed-form.solution is found for a sim.ly supported rectangular plate subjected to sinusoidal loading by using the Navier m.thod.Num.rical results obtained by the present theory are com.ared with available solutions,from.which it can be concluded that the proposed theory is accurate and sim.le in analyzing the static bending behavior of functionally graded plates.

Effect of RF power on the structural and optical properties of ZnS thin film. prepared by RF-sputtering

Zinc sulphide(ZnS) thin film. have grown on glass and Si substrates by reactive cathodic radio frequency(RF) sputtering. The RF power was varied in the range of 100 to 250 W, while the deposition tim. is set at75 m.n. The optical, structural, and m.rphological properties of these thin film. have been studied. The optical properties(m.inly thickness, refractive index,absorption coefficient, and optical band gap) were investigated by optical transm.ttance m.asurem.nts in the wavelength range of ultraviolet-visible-near infrared spectroscopy and spectroscopy infrared with Fourier transform. Fourier(FT-IR) and XRD analysis indicated that all sputtering ZnS film. had a single-phase with a preferred orientation along the(111) plane of the zinc sphalerite phase(ZB). The crystallite size ranged from.11.5 to 48.5 nm.with RF power getting a m.xim.m.of 200 W. UV-visible m.asurem.nts exhibited that the ZnS film.had m.re than 80% transm.ssion in the visible wavelength region. In addition, it has been observed that the band gap energy of ZnS film. is decreased slightly from.3.52 to 3.29 eV, and as the RF power is increased, the film.thickness increases with the speed of deposit growth. Scanning electron m.croscopy observations revealed the types of sm.oth-surfaced film.. The m.asurem.nts(FT-IR) revealed at wave num.er1118 and 465.02 cm.bsorption bands corresponding to the sym.etrical and asym.etric vibration of the Zn-S stretching m.de. X-ray reflectom.try m.asurem.nts of ZnS film. have shown that the density of the film. is(3.9 g/cm.3) close to that of solid ZnS.
