Effects of temperature on the tribological behavior of Al0.25CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy

The tribological behavior of Al0.25 CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy(HEA) sliding against Si3N4 ball was investigated from room temperature to 600°. The microstructure of the alloys was characterized by simple FCC phase with 260 HV. Below 300°, with increasing temperature, the wear rate increased due to high temperature softening. The wear rate remained stabilized above 300°due to the anti-wear effect of the oxidation film on the contact interface. The dominant wear mechanism of HEA changed from abrasive wear at room temperature to delamination wear at 200°, then delamination wear and oxidative wear at 300°and became oxidative above 300°. moreover, the adhesive wear existed concomitantly below 300°.

S and Co co-doped carbon catalysts were prepared via pyrolysis of mOF-71 and thiourea mixtures at 800℃at a mass ratio of mOF-71 to thiourea of 1:0.1 to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate(PmS)for methylene blue(mB)*** effects of two different mixing routes were identified on the mB degradation ***,the catalyst obtained by the alcohol solvent evaporation(mOF-AEP)mixing route could degrade 95.60%mB(50 mg/l)within 4 min(degradation rate:K=0.78 min^(-1)),which was faster than that derived from the direct grinding method(mOF-DGP,80.97%,K=0.39 min^(-1)).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that the Co-S content of mOF-AEP(43.39at%)was less than that of mOF-DGP(54.73at%),and the proportion of C-S-C in mOF-AEP(13.56at%)was higher than that of mOF-DGP(10.67at%).Density functional theory calculations revealed that the adsorption energy of Co for PmS was -2.94 eV when sulfur was doped as C-S-C on the carbon skeleton,which was higher than that when sulfur was doped next to cobalt in the form of Co-S bond(-2.86 eV).Thus,the C-S-C sites might provide more contributions to activate PmS compared with ***,the degradation parameters,including pH and mOF-AEP dosage,were ***,radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements revealed that ^(1)O_(2)might be the primary catalytic species,whereas·O~(2-)might be the secondary one in degrading mB.

The toughness of ferritic steels is influenced by the grain size distribution, second phase, precipitates and coarse inclusions. In this work an examination of the effect of coarse TiN particles （〉0.5 μm） and ferrite grain size on the Charpy impact transition temperature in high strength low alloyed steels has been carried out. Steels with high Ti content （up to 0.045 wt%）, have been heat-treated and furnace cooled to obtain a ferrite-pearlite microstructure with different ferrite grain sizes. Coarse TiN particle size and ferrite grain size distributions have been measured and Charpy impact testing has been carried out. Scanning electron microscopy （SEm） analysis has been used to measure the grain boundary carbide thickness and to determine if the coarse TiN particles are acting as cleavage initiation sites by fractographic analysis. The Charpy ductile-brittle transition temperatures （DBTT） have been predicted using standard literature equations, and compared to the measured values. The relationship between the ferrite grain size and coarse TiN particle size and number density in terms of whether the coarse TiN particles act as effective cleavage initiation sites is discussed in this paper.

The benefits of regular physical activity are well ***,few studies have examined the effectiveness of integrating physical activity(PA)into curricula within a post-secondary *** investigate the incorporation of PA into medical curriculum,we developed a series of optional exercise-based review sessions designed to reinforce musculoskeletal(mSK)anatomy course *** synchronous sessions were co-taught by a group fitness instructor and an anatomy *** fitness instructor would lead students through both strength and yoga style exercises,while the anatomy instructor asked questions about relevant anatomical structures related to course material previously *** the sessions,participants were asked to evaluate the classes on their self-reported exam preparedness in improving mSK anatomy knowledge,PA levels,and mental *** participants completed surveys;a majority agreed that the classes increased understanding of mSK concepts(90.0%)and activity levels(97.7%).many(70.0%)felt that the classes helped reduce *** majority of respondents(90.0%)agreed that the classes contributed to increased feelings of social ***,medical students saw benefit in PA based interventions to supplement mSK course *** with increasing activity levels and promoting health behaviours,integrating PA into medical curriculum may improve comprehension of learning material,alleviate stress and foster social connectivity among medical students.

machine learning(ml)is emerging as a powerful tool to predict the properties of materials,including *** ml models with knowledge of how glass composition affects short-range atomic structure has the potential to enhance the ability of composition-property models to extrapolate accurately outside of their training ***,we introduce an approach wherein statistical mechanics informs a ml model that can predict the non-linear composition-structure relations in oxide *** combined model offers an improved prediction compared to models relying solely on statistical physics or machine learning ***,we show that the combined model accurately both interpolates and extrapolates the structure of Na_(2)O–SiO_(2)***,the model is able to extrapolate predictions outside its training set,which is evidenced by the fact that it is able to predict the structure of a glass series that was kept fully hidden from the model during its training.
