In this article,we review a recently published article to explore the significance of foot reflexology in modern medical *** the advancement of modern medicine,we are increasingly committed to finding the specific physiological mechanisms of foot reflexes to treat diseases,thereby better proving the therapy’s *** has been reported that foot reflexes can activate the cerebral cor-tex and organs corresponding to the feet,stimulating blood flow,nutrition and nerves through neural and endocrine regulation to achieve the purpose of treating and preventing diseases and promoting *** therapy shows unique po-tential and value,and provides a new perspective on integrating traditional me-dicine and modern medicine.

The proposed site of the Diamer Bhasha Dam in northern Pakistan is situated in an active tectonic zone with intensive seismicity,which makes it necessary for seismic hazard analysis(SHA).Deterministic and probabilistic approaches have been used for SHA of the dam *** main mantle Thrust(mmT),main Karakaram Thrust(mKT),Raikot-Sassi Fault(RKSF)and Kohistan Fault(KF)have been considered as major seismic sources,all of which can create maximum ground shaking with maximum potential earthquake(mPE).Deterministically estimated mPE for magnitudes of 7.8,7.7,7.6,and 7.1 can be produced from mmT,mKT,RKSF and KF,*** corresponding peak ground accelerations(PGA)of 0.07,0.11,0.13 and 0.05 g can also be generated from these earthquakes,*** deterministic analysis predicts a so-called floating earthquake as a mPE of magnitude=7.1 as close as 10 km away from the *** corresponding PGA was computed as 0.38 g for a maximum design earthquake at the project ***,the probabilistic analysis revealed that the PGA with 50%probability of exceedance in 100 years is 0.18 ***,this PGA value related to the operational basis earthquake(OBE)is suggested for the design of this project with shear wave velocity(V_(s30))equal to 760 m/s under dense soil and soft rock conditions.

Structural, electronic, and optical properties of alloys Bexmgl-xX （X = S, Se, Te） in the assortment 0 〈 x 〈 1 were theoretically reported for the first time in zinc-blende （ZB） phase. The calculations were carried out by using full-potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orbitals （FP-LAPW＋lo） formalism contained by the framework of density functional theory （DFT）. Wu--Cohen （WC） generalized gradient approximation （GGA）, based on optimization energy, has been applied to calculate these theoretical results. In addition, we used Becke and Johnson （mBJ-GGA） potential, modified form of GGA functional, to calculate electronic structural properties up to a high precision degree. The alloys were composed with the concentrations x = 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75 in pursuance of ＇special quasi-random structures＇（SQS） approach of Zunger for the restoration of disorder around the observed site of alloys in the first few shells. The structural parameters have been predicted by minimizing the total energy in correspondence of unit cell volume. Our alloys established direct band gap at different concentrations that make their importance in optically active materials. Furthermore, density of states was discussed in terms of the contribution of Be and mg s and chalcogen （S, Se, and Te） s and p states and observed charge density helped us to investigate the bonding nature. By taking into consideration of immense importance in optoelectronics of these materials, the complex dielectric function was calculated for incident photon energy in the range 0--15 eV.

Thin films of cadmium telluride were prepared by evaporating cadmium telluride powder in a vacuum of less than 10^(-4) *** substrate temperature was varied systematically from room temperature to 300℃.The results of optical and structural characterizations have revealed that the films posses a high value of absorption coefficient with a bandgap value m the range 1.475-1.769eV,and that the films are of cubic structure with a preferred orientation along(111)*** probe measurements have shown that resistivity of these films is affected by the change in substrate temperature,with the lowest value(12.6 Ω·cm)being at 200℃.

Shades of different light intensities (29%, 43%, 54%, 60% or 68%) along with control (no shade) were studied to observe their effects on the flowering time and plant quality. A hyperbolic relationship was observed between different light intensities under shade, and time to flowering. The total number of flower buds showed a curvilinear relationship with light intensities. Growth parameters related to the plant characteristics such as plant height, leaf area and plant fresh weight were improved under shading treatments at the expense of flowering time and number of flower buds. However, both linear and polynomial models applied assumed that cultivar Chimes White was equally sensitive to light intensity throughout development.

In this paper,we develop a three-dimensional fractional-order cancer *** proposed model involves the interaction among tumor cells,healthy tissue cells and activated effector *** detailed analysis of the equilibrium points is ***,the existence and uniqueness of the solution are *** fractional derivative is considered in the Caputo *** simulations are performed to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical *** outcome of the study reveals that the order of the fractional derivative has a significant effect on the dynamic ***,the calculated Lyapunov exponents give the existence of chaotic behavior of the proposed ***,it is observed from the obtained results that decrease in fractional-order p increases the chaotic behavior of the model.

The high cycle fatigue response of a high V-alloyed powder metallurgy tool steel （AISI 11） with different inclusion sizes was studied. Two materials of this grade at a similar hardness of about HRC 60 were subjected to axial loading fatigue tests, tensile tests and fracture toughness measurements to investigate their mechanical properties. Large inclusion above 70 ~rn is indicated to be responsible for the tensile fracture which happens before yielding. The fatigue strength obtained up to 107 cycles is found to decrease from approximately 1 538 mPa to 1000 mPa with the inclusion size increasing above 30 Izm. The internally induced crack initiation is mainly attributed to the surface compressive residual stress of 300-450 mPa. Fractographic evaluation demonstrates that the crack initiation and propagation controlling factors of the two materials are almost the same, indicating that the two factors would be insignificantly affected by the inclusion size level. Paris sizes of the two materials both show a tendency to decrease as the ratio of stress intensity factor of crack origin to factor of fish-eye increases. The investigation into the relationship between stress intensity factors and fatigue life of the two materials further indicates that the high cycle fatigue behavior of AISI 11 is controlled by crack propagation.

Improvement of plant performance under drought stress is crucial to sustaining agricultural *** current study investigated the ameliorative effects of foliar-applied kinetin,an adenine-type cytokinin(CK),on growth and gas exchange parameters,water relations and biochemical attributes of maize plants under drought ***-day-old maize plants were subjected to drought by maintaining soil moisture content at 25%field capacity for 8 days followed by foliar application of kinetin at 0,75,150 and 225 mg L^(−1)(CK0,CK75,CK150 and CK225,respectively)to the plants for two-times at the 9-day *** revealed that drought stress markedly reduced stem diameter,dry weight,chlorophyll content,gas exchange parameters and water balance but increased proline,malondialdehyde and soluble sugar contents,electrolyte leakage and senescence in maize *** of exogenous CK remarkably improved maize performance by modulating growth,gas exchange-and water relation-related parameters in a dose-dependent manner under drought ***225 increased chlorophyll content(by 61.54%),relative water content(by 49.14%),net photosynthesis rate(by 39.94%)and transpiration rate(by 121.36%)and also delayed leaf senescence but decreased internal CO_(2)concentration(by 7.38%),water saturation deficit(by 40.40%)and water uptake capacity(by 42.49%)in both well-watered and droughtstressed ***,CK application considerably decreased electrolyte leakage,proline,malondialdehyde and soluble sugar levels in drought-stressed maize plants,as also supported by heatmap and cluster *** together,exogenous CK at proper concentration(225 mg L^(−1))successfully improved maize performance under drought conditions,thereby suggesting CK application as a useful approach to alleviate drought-induced adverse effects in maize plants,and perhaps in other important crop plants.

Zero tillage with residues retention and optimizing nitrogen fertilization are important strategies to improve soil quality and wheat （Triticum aestivum L.） yield in rice （Oryza sativa L.）-wheat system. Field experiments were conducted on silty clay soil （Hyperthermic, and Typic Torrilfuvents） in D. I. Khan, Pakistan, to explore the impact of six tillage methods （zero tillage straw retained （ZTsr）, ZT straw burnt （ZTsb）, reduced tillage straw incorporated （RTsi, including tiller and rotavator）, RT straw burnt （RTsb）, conventional tillage straw incorporated （CTsi, including disc plow, tiller, rotavator, and leveling operations）, CT straw burnt （CTsb）） and ifve nitrogen rates, i.e., 0, 100, 150, 200, and 250 kg ha-1 on wheat yield. mean values for N revealed that spikes m-2, grains/spike, 1 000-grain weight （g）, and grain yield （kg ha-1） were signiifcantly higher at 200 kg N ha-1 in both the years as well as mean over years than all other treatments. mean values for tillage revealed that ZTsr produced highest number of spikes m-2 among tillage methods. However, grains/spike, 1 000-grain weight, and grain yield were higher in tillage methods with either straw retained/incorporated than tillage methods with straw burnt. Interaction effects were signiifcant in year 1 and in mean over years regarding spikes m-2, 1 000-grain weight, total soil organic matter （SOm）, and total soil N （TSN）. ZTsr produced the most spikes m-2 and 1 000-grain weight at 200 kg N ha-1. ZTsr also produced higher SOm and TSN at 200-250 kg N ha-1 at the end of 2 yr cropping. Thus ZTsr with 200 kg N ha-1 may be an optimum and sustainable approach to enhance wheat yield and soil quality in rice-wheat system.
