Seroprevalence Survey of HIV and Hepatitis B Virus and Behavioral Characteristics among Heavy Truck Drivers along Port Sudan-Khartoum Highways

The prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (AIDS) and hepatitis B virus among heavy truck drivers and their assistants has been well documented globally in correlation with their behavioral characteristics. The present study aimed to screen for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), and behavioral characteristics among heavy truck drivers in Port Sudan. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 274 heavy truck drivers and their assistants who used the highway Port Sudan-Khartoum in Port Sudan city during 2019-2021. Data on behavioral characteristics and substance use habits were collected using a structured questionnaire, and an ELISA test was used to screen for HIV and HBV infections in the study participants. The chi-square test, odds ratio, and confidence intervals were used to find the association between behavioral characteristics and seropositive HIV/HBV. Of the 274 enrolled participants, the seroprevalence rates of HIV were 2.7% and HBV was 23.7%. Ninety-four (34.3%) of them had a history of high-risk sexual behavior outside of marriage;only two (0.7%) used condoms;14.2% of participants reported alcohol use;and 1.1% reported drug use. Univariate analysis revealed that having a sex history outside of marriage with ≥1 sex partner and never using a condom with a spouse or casual partner were significant risk factors for HIV and HBV among drivers. Fortunately, we found that most of the drivers reported low alcohol and drug use. Concerning this study, the seroprevalence of HIV and HBV is highly associated with a history of having sex outside of marriage and sexual behavior among truck drivers and assistances. Additional studies are needed to further investigate other STIs and behavioral characteristics associated with factors in truck drivers/assistance in different truck stop regions in Sudan.

Static and Dynamic Pull-In Instability of Nano-Beams Resting on Elastic Foundation Based on the Nonlocal Elasticity Theory

This paper provides the static and dynamic pullin behavior of nano-beams resting on the elastic foundation based on the nonlocal theory which is able to capture the size effects for structures in micron and sub-micron scales. For this purpose, the governing equation of motion and the boundary conditions are driven using a variational approach. This formulation includes the influences of fringing field and intermolecular forces such as Casimir and van der Waals forces. The differential quadrature （DQ） method is employed as a high-order approximation to discretize the governing nonlinear differential equation, yielding more accurate results with a Considerably smaller number of grid points. In addition, a powerful analytical method called parameter expansion method （PEm） is utilized to compute the dynamic solution and frequency-amplitude relationship. It is illustrated that the first two terms in series expansions are sufficient to produce an acceptable solution of the mentioned structure. Finally, the effects of basic parameters on static and dynamic pull-in insta- bility and natural frequency are studied.

Computational analysis for fractional characterization of coupled convection-diffusion equations arising in mHD fows

The work is devoted to the fractional characterization of time-dependent coupled convection-diffusion systems arising in magnetohydrodynamics(mHD)*** time derivative is expressed by means of Caputo’s fractional derivative concept,while the model is solved via the full-spectral method(FSm)and the semi-spectral scheme(SSS).The FSm is based on the operational matrices of derivatives constructed by using higher-order orthogonal polynomials and collocation *** SSS is developed by discretizing the time variable,and the space domain is collocated by using equal points.A detailed comparative analysis is made through graphs for various parameters and tables with existing *** contour graphs are made to show the behaviors of the velocity and magnetic *** proposed methods are reasonably efficient in examining the behavior of convection-diffusion equations arising in mHD flows,and the concept may be extended for variable order models arising in mHD flows.

This article concerns the analysis of an unsteady stagnation point flow of Eyring–Powell nanofluid over a stretching *** influence of thermophoresis and Brownian motion is also considered in transport *** nonlinear ODE set is obtained from the governing nonlinear equations via suitable *** numerical experiments are performed using the Galerkin scheme.A tabular form comparison analysis of outcomes attained via the Galerkin approach and numerical scheme(RK-4)is available to show the credibility of the Galerkin *** numerical exploration is carried out for various governing parameters,namely,Brownian motion,steadiness,thermophoresis,stretching ratio,velocity slip,concentration slip,thermal slip,and fluid parameters,and Hartmann,Prandtl and Schmidt *** velocity of fluid enhances with an increase in fluid and magnetic parameters for the case of opposing,but the behavior is reversed for assisting *** Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameters cause an increase in temperature for both cases(assisting and opposing).The Brownian motion parameter provides a drop-in concentration while an increase is noticed for the thermophoresis *** the outcomes and the behavior of emerging parameters are illustrated *** comparison analysis and graphical plots endorse the appropriateness of the Galerkin *** is concluded that said method could be extended to other problems of a complex nature.

It has been well established that carbon dioxide(CO_(2))is one of the main greenhouse gasses and a leading driver of climate *** chemical conversion of CO_(2) to substitute natural gas(SNG)in the presence of renewable hydrogen is one of the most promising solutions by a well-known process called CO_(2) *** have been comprehensive efforts in developing effective and efficient CO_(2) methanation catalytic ***,the choice of competitive and stable catalysts is still a monumental obstruction and a great challenge towards the commercialization and industrialization of CO_(2) *** is necessary to emphasize the critical understandings of intrinsic and extrinsic interactions of catalyst components(active metal,support,promoter,etc.)for enhanced catalytic performance and stability during CO_(2) *** study reviews the up-to-date developments on CO_(2) methanation catalysts and the optimal synergistic relationship between active metals,support,and promoters during the catalytic *** existing catalysts and their novel properties for enhanced CO_(2) methanation were elucidated using the state-of-the-art experimental and theoretical *** selection of an appropriate synthesis method,catalytic activity for CO_(2) methanation,deactivation of the catalysts,and reaction mechanisms studies,have been explicitly compared and ***,future efforts should be directed towards the sustainable developments of catalytic configurations for successful industrial applications of CO_(2) utilization to SNG using CO_(2) methanation.

Wavelet analysis of stagnation point flow of non-Newtonian nanofluid

The wavelet approach is introduced to study the influence of the natural convection stagnation point flow of the Williamson fluid in the presence of thermophysical and Brownian motion effects. The thermal radiation effects are considered along a permeable stretching surface. The nonlinear problem is simulated numerically by using a novel algorithm based upon the Chebyshev wavelets. It is noticed that the velocity of the Williamson fluid increases for assisting flow cases while decreases for opposing flow cases when the unsteadiness and suction parameters increase, and the magnetic effect on the velocity increases for opposing flow cases while decreases for assisting flow cases. When the thermal radiation parameter, the Dufour number, and Williamson’s fluid parameter increase, the temperature increases for both assisting and opposing flow cases. meanwhile, the temperature decreases when the Prandtl number increases. The concentration decreases when the Soret parameter increases, while increases when the Schmidt number increases. It is perceived that the assisting force decreases more than the opposing force. The findings endorse the credibility of the proposed algorithm, and could be extended to other nonlinear problems with complex nature.

Adjustable surface plasmon resonance with Au,Ag,and Ag@Au core-shell nanoparticles

We report an experimental study on the synthesis of metal nanoparticles （NPs） with adjustable optical density based on surface plasmon resonance （SPR）. metal NPs prepared by laser ablation in liquid method and the effect of laser parameters on the size, distribution, wavelength of SPR of Ag, Au, and mixture of Ag-Au, and Ag core/Au shell NPs are investigated. Our results show that the adjustable SPR band can be achieved in each class of NPs which is suitable for adjustable optical window applications.

Wind power prediction interval(WPPI)models in the literature have predominantly been developed for and tested on specific case ***,wind behavior and characteristics can vary significantly across ***,a prediction model that performs well in one case might underperform in *** address this shortcoming,this paper proposes an ensemble WPPI framework that integrates multiple WPPI models with distinct characteristics to improve *** important and often overlooked factor is the role of probabilistic wind power prediction(WPP)in quantifying wind power uncertainty,which should be handled by operating *** reserve in WPPI frameworks enhances the efficacy of *** this regard,the proposed framework employs a novel bi-layer optimization approach that takes both WPPI quality and reserve requirements into *** analysis with different real-world datasets and various benchmark models validates the quality of the obtained WPPIs while resulting in more optimal reserve requirements.

Prevalence and risk factors of asymptomatic hepatitis C virus infection in Egyptian children

AIm: To identify the prevalence, risk factors and manifestations of asymptomatic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in Egyptian children. mETHODS: Children at the age of 1-9 years were screened for HCV antibodies and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels. Every child with elevated ALT and/or detectable HCV antibodies was tested for HCV RNA by RT-PCR and compared with two negative controls for risk factors and signs and symptoms of liver ***: We screened 1042 children, six of them had elevated ALT, negative HCV antibody and positive RNA, likely representing acute hepatitis C cases. Fifteen children were HCV seropositive, 5 of them were HCV RNA positive. Asymptomatic HCV infection was present in 2.02% (positive results for either HCV antibodies or HCV-RNA or both). Symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, history of fatigue and school absence because of illness and risk factors such as dental care were significantly more common among HCV positive cases than among controls. None of the HCV positive children was diagnosed as having signs of advanced liver disease upon clinical or ultrasonographic examination. CONCLUSION: Asymptomatic HCV infection is detectable in 2.02% Egyptian children.
