OBJECTIVE: To investigate the use of Aloe vera(***) for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) symptoms and compare its effects with those of omeprazole and ***: In this pilot, randomized controlled trial, 79 subjects were allocated to A. vera syrup(standardized to 5.0 mg polysaccharide per m L of syrup)at a dose of 10 m L/d, omeprazole capsule(20 g/d)or ranitidine tablet(150 mg in a fasted state in the morning and 150 mg 30 min before sleep at night)for a period of 4 weeks. The frequencies of eight main symptoms of GERD(heartburn, food regurgitation, flatulence, belching, dysphagia, nausea,vomiting and acid regurgitation) were assessed at weeks 2 and 4 of the ***: A. vera was safe and well tolerated and reduced the frequencies of all the assessed GERD symptoms, with no adverse events requiring ***: A. vera may provide a safe and effective treatment for reducing the symptoms of GERD.

AIm： To study the effect of oral garlic on arterial oxygen pressure in children with hepatopulmonary syndrome, mETHODS： Garlic powder in a capsule form was given to 15 children with hepatopulmonary syndrome （confirmed by contrast echocardiography） at the dosage of 1 g/1.73 m^2 per day. Patients were evaluated clinically and by arterial blood gas every four weeks. RESULTS： The garlic capsule was administered to 15 patients with hepatopulmonary syndrome. There were 10 boys and 5 girls with a mean age of 9.4 ± 3.9 years. The underlying problems were biliary tract atresia （4 patients）, autoimmune hepatitis （4 patients）, cryptogenic cirrhosis （4 patients） and presinusoidal portal hypertension （3 patients）. Eight patients （53.3%） showed an increase of 10 mmHg in their mean arterial oxygen pressure. The baseline PaO2 was 65.6 ± 12.1 mmHg in the responder group and 47.1 ± 11.2 mmHg in nonresponder group. At the end of treatment the mean PaO2 in responders and non-responders was 92.2 ± 7.75 mmHg and 47.5 ± 11.87 mmHg, respectively （P 〈 0.01）. CONCLUSION： Garlic may increase oxygenation and improve dyspnea in children with hepatopulmonary syndrome.

A novel aromatic diamine,2-（5-（3,5-diaminophenyl）-l,3,4-oxadiazole-2-yl）pyridine（POBD）,containing a pyridine ring and a 1,3,4-oxadiazole moiety,was *** was used in a polycondensation with various aromatic and aliphatic diacid chlorides to generate a series of new aromatic polyamides with pendant 1,3,4-oxadiazole *** prepared polyamides were characterized by IR,elemental analysis and through the synthesis of model *** properties of the synthesized polyamides have been studied by DSC,TGA and inherent viscosity measurements. Relatively high inherent viscosity values（0.76-1.62 dL/g,in 0.125%H_2SO_4 at 25℃） were observed for these compounds. Number average molecular weight（m_n） of the polymers was measured by vapor phase osmometry（VPO）.The introduction of bulky side chains in the structure of aromatic polyamides led to increased solubility of these polymers in common polar and aprotic solvents,such as DmF,DmSO,NmP and DmAc,which allowed thin films to be cast from polymer solutions. The highest molecular weight（m_n = 51190） was observed for polymer（DC）,which was prepared from pyridine-2,6-dichlorocarbonyl.

Sodium-oxygen batteries(SOBs) have the potential to provide energy densities higher than the state-ofthe-art Li-ion batteries. However, controlling the formation of sodium superoxide(NaO_(2)) as the sole discharge product on the cathode side is crucial to achieve durable and efficient SOBs. In this work, the discharge efficiency of two graphene-based cathodes was evaluated and compared with that of a commercial gas diffusion layer. The discharge products formed at the surface of these cathodes in a glyme-based electrolyte were carefully studied using a range of characterization techniques. NaO_(2) was detected as the main discharge product regardless of the specific cathode material while small amounts of Na_(2)O_(2).2H_(2)O and carbonate-like side-products were detected by X-ray diffraction as well as by Raman and infrared spectroscopies. This work leverages the use of X-ray diffraction to determine the actual yield of NaO_(2)which is usually overlooked in this type of batteries. Thus, the proper quantification of the superoxide formed on the cathode surface is widely underestimated;even though is crucial for determining the efficiency of the battery while eliminating the parasitic chemistry in SOBs. Here, we develop an ex-situ analysis method to determine the amount of NaO_(2) generated upon discharge in SOBs by transmission X-ray diffraction and quantitative Rietveld analysis. This work unveils that the yield of NaO_(2) depends on the depth of discharge where high capacities lead to very low discharge efficiency, regardless of the used cathode. We anticipate that the methodology developed herein will provide a convenient diagnosis tool in future efforts to optimize the performance of the different cell components in SOBs.

AIm： TO determine the expression of DNA （mmR） proteins, including hmLH1 and hmSH2, in gastric epithelial cells in the patients with or without Helicobacter pylori （H pylori）-infected gastritis. mETHODS： Fifty Hpylori-positive patients and 50 H pylori-negative patients were enrolled in the study. During endoscopy of patients with non-ulcer dyspepsia, two antral and two corpus biopsies were taken for histological examination （Giemsa stain） and for immunohistochemical staining of hmLH1 and hmSH2. RESULTS： The percentage of epithelial cell nuclei that demonstrated positivity for hmLH1 staining was 84.14 ± 7.32% in Hpylori-negative patients, while it was 73.34 ±10.10% in Hpylori-positive patients （P 〈 0.0001）. No significant difference was seen between the two groups regarding the percentage of epithelial cell nuclei that demonstrated positivity for hmSH2 staining （81.16±8.32% in H pylori-negative versus 78.24 ± 8.71% in Hpylori-positive patients; P = 0.09）. CONCLUSION： This study indicates that Hpylori might promote development of gastric carcinoma at least in part through its ability to affect the DNA mmR system

Developing ultrabroad radar-infrared compatible stealth materials has turned into a research hotspot,which is still a problem to be ***,the copper sulfide wrapped by reduced graphene oxide to obtain three-dimensional(3D)porous network composite aerogels(CuS@rGO)were synthesized via thermal reduction ways(hydrothermal,ascorbic acid reduction)and freeze-drying *** was discovered that the phase components(rGO and CuS phases)and micro/nano structure(microporous and nanosheet)were well-modified by modulating the additive amounts of CuS and changing the reduction ways,which resulted in the variation of the pore structure,defects,complex permittivity,microwave absorption,radar cross section(RCS)reduction value and infrared(IR)***,the obtained CuS@rGO aerogels with a single dielectric loss type can achieve an ultrabroad bandwidth of 8.44 GHz at 2.8 mm with the low filler content of 6 wt%by a hydrothermal ***,the composite aerogel via the ascorbic acid reduction realizes the minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of−60.3 dB with the lower filler content of 2 wt%.The RCS reduction value can reach 53.3 dB m^(2),which effectively reduces the probability of the target being detected by the radar ***,the laminated porous architecture and multicomponent endowed composite aerogels with thermal insulation and IR stealth ***,this work offers a facile method to design and develop porous rGO-based composite aerogel absorbers with radar-IR compatible stealth.

Construction of managed aquifer recharge structures(mARS) to store floodwater is a common strategy for storing depleted groundwater resources in arid and semi-arid regions, as part of integrated water resources management(IWRm). mARS divert surface water to groundwater, but this can affect downstream fluvial processes. The impact of mARS on fluvial processes was investigated in this study by combining remote sensing techniques with hydro-sediment modeling for the case of the Kaboutar-AliChay aquifer, northwestern Iran. The impact of mARS on groundwater dynamics was assessed, sedimentation across the mARS was modeled using a 2 D hydrodynamic model, and morphological changes were quantified in the human-impacted alluvial fan using Landsat time series data and statistical methods. Changes were detected by comparing data for the periods before(1985 e1996) and after(1997 e2018) mARS construction. The results showed that the rate of groundwater depletion decreased from2.14 m/yr before to 0.86 m/yr after mARS construction. Hydro-sediment modeling revealed that mARS ponds slowed water outflow, resulting in a severe decrease in sediment load which lead to a change from sediment deposition to sediment erosion in the alluvial fan. morphometric analyses revealed decreasing alluvial fan area and indicated significant differences(p mpact periods for different morphometric parameters analyzed. The rate of change in area of the Kaboutar-Ali-Chay alluvial fan changed from à0.228 to à0.115 km2/year between pre-and post-impact periods.

Water pollution affects plants and organisms living in these bodies of water; and, in almost all cases the effect is damaging not only to individual species and populations, but also to the natural biological communities. Genetic algorithm and kernel partial least square （GA-KPLS） and Levenberg- marquardt artificial neural network （L-m ANN） techniques were used to investigate the correlation between retention time （tR） and descriptors for 150 organic contaminants in natural water and wastewater, which are obtained by gas chromatography coupled to high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry （GC-TOF mS）. The L-m ANN model gave a significantly better performance than the GA-KPLS model. This indicates that L-m ANN can be used as an alternative modeling toot for quantitative structure-retention relationship （QSRR） studies.

Erosion of geological units and sediment load in rivers can be considered as the serious problems in recent *** sediment loads generate major hazards for water resources development,particularly in terms of loss of reservoir storage due to sedimentation and siltation of water distribution *** this paper,the performance of four sediment rating curve (SRC) development methods was evaluated for the Shirin Darreh River(SDR) basin (1750 km^(2)),located in North Khorasan Province,*** of flow discharge (Q) and suspended sediment flux (SSF)(Q-SSF pairs,N=957)and daily flow discharge,recorded by the Regional Water Company of North Khorasan (RWCNK) at the Qaleh-Barbar (QB) gauging site during 1989-2018 were *** flow discharge classification method performed best by meeting the desired criteria of most statistical indices,including normalized root mean square error (NRmSE),mean bias error (mBE),mean absolute error (mAE),index of agreement (d),and coefficient of determination (R^(2)).Based on the optimized method,the rate of suspended sediment transportation at the study site was estimated about2.7×10^(6) ton year^(-1).Erodibility of the exposed formations in the study area was estimated based on a factorial scoring model (FSm).Three indices,focused on the outcrop and erodibility,were calculated for the geological units at sub-basin and total *** deposits are the most extensive geological unit in the three sub-basins and the maximum formation outcrop ratio (FOR) and participation in erosion (PCE)were obtained for these rocks at total *** fact,marl unit can be regarded as the main source to supply the suspended sediments in the study basin.
