Osmoporation is a novel encapsulation approach for bioactive compounds based on the osmoresistance mechanisms of microbial *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first study investigating the production of fisetin-enriched yoghurt using Lactobacillus acidophilus-based bio-capsules via osmoporation as the starter *** showed that the milk acidification with fisetin-loaded *** progressed at a slower pace due to complex mechanisms induced by osmopo-ration and internalized *** fermentation using fisetin bio-capsules reached a maximum acidification rate of 0.18 pH units/h after 23 h and pH 4.6 was achieved after 32 ***,the antioxidant activity of yoghurts produced with fisetin bio-capsules did not change during cold storage,while the antioxidant activity of yoghurt produced with non-encapsulated fisetin was reduced by 2.5-fold after 28 ***,this study shows that fisetin osmoporation using *** is a versatile encapsulation bioprocess that enables the delivery of preserved phytoactives into fermented foods like *** strategy has the potential to be extended to other applications in the dairy industry using lactic acid bacteria as both the encapsulation matrix and fermentation agent.

Objective:To identify whether Canova medication changes TNF-α and IL-10 serum levels in mice infected with Trypanosoma cruzi Y ***:Animals were divided into five groups:non-treated infected animals(I); benznidazole-treated infected animals(Bz; 100 mg/kg body weight,single daily dose by gavage); Canova medication(Cm) treated infected animals(Cm;0.2 mL/animal,single daily dose by gavage); benznidazole- and Canova medication–treated infected animals with the above-mentioned dose(Bz+Cm);and non-infected animals(C).TNF-α and IL-10 levels were determined in serum aliquots after 4,7,10,13,and 29 days of *** ELISA technique was employed with R&D System *** ***:A high increase in TNF-α and IL-10 levels occurred in the infected and Cm-treated groups within the treatment employed on the 10 th day after infection,coupled with a IL-10 decrease on the 13 th day after infection when compared with the other experimental ***:Cm may change the balance between plasma cytokine levels(TNF-α and IL-10) in mice infected with Y strain ***,with important consequences leading towards a more severe infection.

Fiber-reinforced soils have been increasingly used in geotechnical *** the years,research has sought to understand and investigate the influences of fibers as reinforcement in soilefiber *** study assessed the behavior of clayey soil in the city of Curitiba(Paraná,Brazil),adding rice husk fiber(RHF),an industrial waste from Cooperativa Agroindustrial in Alegrete(Rio Grande do Sul,Brazil).To evaluate the effect of the presence of natural RHF on the mechanical behavior of compacted soil,aspects such as the influence of fiber content and the drained and undrained behaviors of the soil were evaluated through unconfined triaxial compression *** following tests were realized:soil granulometry,specific mass of solids and Atterberg *** were produced in quadruplicate for the soil and mixtures using the RHF contents of 0.5%,0.75%,1%and 1.5%to determine the unconfined compressive strength(UCS).Triaxial tests were realized on a pure soil specimen and the specimens with 1%RHF under confining pressures of 50 kPa,100 kPa,200 kPa and 400 *** interactions at the interface between husk surface and soil were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEm).In UCS tests,specimens with RHF percentages of 1%and 1.5%presented the highest results,with an increment of 36%compared to the soil without *** results of the consolidated drained triaxial compression tests show that in terms of effective stress,there was a small difference in the strength of the compacted pure soil and soil with the addition of *** the undrained tests,the strength increased with the inclusion of husk,with a reduction of 50%in cohesion and an increment of 22%in friction angle for specimens containing RHF compared to the soil without RHF additions.

Rainwater Harvesting in multifamily Social Interest Housing

This study evaluated the reduction of water consumption in a SIH （social interest housing） complex from the simulation of implanting a rainwater harvesting system. The methodology consisted of characterization of the case study, survey data of water consumption and data of precipitation in the area, on-site visits to define the average consumption and monthly water distribution, and sizing of a rainwater harvesting tank following the Netuno Program. It was obtained 22.500 L as the ideal volume for the tank, supplying the demand for drinkingwater in 32%, although the reduction in the drinking water bills would be minor, since the object of the case study is considered SIH, and residents pay a fixed fee for consuming up to 10 m3 per month. Therefore, it becomes necessary to analyze this situation from a sustainable and environmental perspective, and the benefits are no longer only economic, but rather they take on a more comprehensive social dimension.

Predicting of the Fibrous Filters Efficiency for the Removal Particles from Gas Stream by Artificial Neural Network

In this paper, artificial neural networks are used for predicting single fiber efficiency in the process of removing smaller particles from gas stream by fiber filters. For this, numerical simulations are obtained of a classic model of literature for fiber efficiency, which is numerically solved along with the convection diffusion equation in polar coordinates for particle concentration, with associated initial and boundary conditions. A sufficient number of examples from two numerical simulations are employed to construct a database, from which parameters of a novel neural model are adjusted. This model is constructed based on the back propagation algorithm in order to map two features, namely Peclet number and packing density, which are extracted from the numerical simulations into the corresponding single fiber efficiency. The results indicate that the developed neural model can be trained in a reasonable computational time and is capable of estimating single fiber efficiency from examples of the test set with a maximum error of 1.7%.

The Development of mathematical modelling Activities from Thematic Projects in the Social-Critical Perspective

In this paper, the authors present a modelling activity developed from a thematic project in the models and mathematical modelling class of the professional master＇s degree program in mathematics education at the Federal University of Ouro Preto. The students enrolled in the class chose to study the theme Brazilian Public Politics. After several debates regarding the theme, the students were separated into three groups and each group chose a subtheme to study. The themes were IDH （index of human development）, minimum wage and social security. As an example, a description of the thematic project about the minimum wage in Brazil is presented. The principal results obtained in the study of this theme include a discussion about the potentialities of the theme as a classroom activity in different levels of schooling. As an educational activity, the thematic project demonstrated itself to be greatly relevant, since not only did it provide the learning possibility of mathematics related to the issues studied, but also promoted various discussions regarding the theme, which, in our conception, contributes to the social-critical development of the students. Finally, from the point of view of applied mathematics and mathematics education, the development of a modelling activity from thematic projects showed itself to be a good source of researches.

Opportunities for Remote Collaboration in a Social Web Search model That Integrates Parents and Children

Traditionally, search engines are designed to support a single user working alone. However, the construction of knowledge is enriched when one adds collaboration to search tasks. We identified opportunities for remote collaboration in a Social Web search model that integrates parents and children guided by 5W + 1H (who, what, where, when, why, how) dimensions. Our social search model aims at improving the search process for children. We found 7 opportunities for remote collaboration on the search process, based on implicit-explicit interactions.

Identification of Sugar,Amino Acids and minerals from the Pollen of Jandaíra Stingless Bees(melipona subnitida)

The aim of this investigation was to analyze two samples of pollen from jandaíra stingless bees (melipona subnitida) in view of their mineral composition, free amino acids and sugars. Palynological analysis showed that the predominant pollen was monofloral from Senna sp. species (94.5%, pollen 2011) and the second pollen sample showed the presence of two primary species, Chamaecrista sp. (39.2% pollen 2009) and mimosa tenuiflora (43.5%) (pollen 2009). The highest mineral content was potassium. The bee pollen contained 20.8% and 31.0% of mannitol in samples from 2011 and 2009, respectively. Proline and serine are the predominant amino acids. High content of essential amino acids, minerals and the sugar mannitol confirmed high nutritional value of pollen samples from jandaíra bees.

Background:Biochemical and hematological parameters are important tools for assessing the physiological profile of vital organs,and can be recorded to create reference values used for clinical diagnosis of *** research laboratories lack the means to establish their own set of reference parameters for use in their research,and while there are articles in the literature that discuss laboratory parameters for healthy BALB/c mice,few studies address the evaluation of these parameters in pathological situations,such as in mice inoculated with Ehrlich ***:BALB/c-FmABC mice previously inoculated with Ehrlich tumor were maintained under appropriate *** samples were taken for analysis of hematological parameters using automated and semi-automated equipment to create a set of the animal welfare parameters for ***:Results were obtained for all the hematological parameters for all groups *** showed:statistically significant differences between the initial and final tumor weight;comparable initial tumour volume and weight;an increase in leukocytes in the 7-day group with a characteristic predominance of lymphocytes and neutrophils;statistically significant changes in RDW in the 21-day group and in the welfare parameters in the 28-day ***:The study successfully defined and established reference values for hematological and welfare parameters for all groups analyzed.
