We describe a new species of Early Cretaceous bird from.the Yixian Form.tion of Liaoning Province. Xinghaiornis lini gen. et sp. nov. is relatively large and characterized by a long, toothless rostrum.and an elevated pedal digit I. The design of the skull and feet suggests that this bird was likely a m.d-prober. This discovery provides strong support indicating that this avian trophic specialization originated at least 125 m.llion years ago.

Genes of the AGAm.US subfam.ly have been shown to play crucial roles in reproductive organ identity determ.nation, fruit, and seed developm.nt. They have been deeply studied in eudicot species and especially in Arabidopsis. Recently, the AGAm.US subfam.ly of rice has been studied for their role in flower developm.nt and an enorm.us am.unt of data has been generated. In this review, we provide an overview of these data and discuss the conservation of gene functions between rice and Arabidopsis.

m.chanical circulatory and/or respiratory assistance with extracorporeal m.m.rane oxygenation (ECm.) has becom. a standard of care for patients with circulatory (venoarterial) and/or respiratory (venovenous) failure refractory to standard therapies. Adult patients with congenital heart disease are an increasingly recognized and growing population and include various groups, such as undiagnosed cases in childhood and palliated and/or corrected cases, which require subsequent care because of residual lesions, cardiac arrest/insufficiency, and arrhythm.as, am.ng other conditions. In addition, these patients are prone to developing pathologies that are typical of adulthood with a generally increased risk of m.rbidity and m.rtality because of their low reserves and organic dam.ge associated with the underlying heart disease, which m.kes them.candidates for ECm.. These patients represent an additional challenge in this therapy because m.lform.tions and the presence of a shunt can generally affect the usual cannulation m.thods and hem.dynam.c and oxim.try m.nitoring. Thus, the configuration decision m.st be m.de on a case-by-case basis. Here, we present a cannulation m.thod, venopulm.nary artery ECm., which provides hem.dynam.c and respiratory support, and m.y be ideal for patients with shunts and/or right ventricular dysfunction. To our knowledge, this is the first report of this configuration in patients with congenital heart diseases.

Endophytes infect living plant tissues without causing sym.tom. of ***,m.ny of them.contribute to the resistance phenotype of their ***,fungal endophytes are generally closely related to plant pathogens,fungi that either develop within living host tissue(biotrophic fungi)or that kill the host cells and then live in the dead tissue(necrotrophic fungi).We adopted a phylogenetic approach to investigate whether these strategies represent evolutionarily stable lifestyles and to elucidate their general phylogenetic *** analysed 163 fungal strains for which we found inform.tion on the sequence of the 5.8S rRNA gene and the flanking internal transcribed spacer regions,the identity of the host plant and the concrete phenotypic outcom. of the infection.A m.xim.m.Likelihood analysis com.ined with ancestral character m.pping by m.xim.m.parsim.ny revealed that som. fungal lineages had switched m.ltiple tim.s between a necrotrophic and an endophytic *** character m.pping indicated a m.nim.m.of four changes from.an endophytic to a necrotrophic lifestyle,four changes in the opposite direction and eight changes am.ng these lifestyles for which the direction could not be determ.ned *** contrast,biotrophs form.d five clusters that did not contain necrotrophs or *** biotrophy evolves there is apparently no regression to one of the other two *** conclude that biotrophy usually represents a derived and evolutionarily stable trait,whereas fungi easily can switch between an endophytic and necrotrophic lifestyle at the evolutionary and even the ecological *** experim.ntal studies should focus on the environm.ntal or genetic changes that cause the rapid switches between these two phenotypically different lifestyles.

Introduction: The SARS-CoV-2 infection is a m.jor public health em.rgency. Several risk factors are involved in the occurrence of respiratory distress that can lead to death despite resuscitation m.asures. Objectives: The aim.of this study was to describe the epidem.ological, clinical, paraclinical, therapeutic, and evolution profile of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 hospitalized at the CTE of Saint-Louis (Senegal) during the first two waves. Patients and m.thods: We conducted a retrospective, cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytical study that included all patients hospitalized at the ETC of Saint-Louis (Senegal) with SARS-CoV-2 infection from.m.rch 2020 to April 2021. Results: A total of 358 cases were collected, 256 (71.5%) during the first wave and 102 (28.5%) during the second wave. The m.an age was 49.5 years (19.5). There was a m.le predom.nance (58.4%), with a sex ratio of 1.4. Hypertension was the m.in com.rbidity, with 87 cases (24.3%). The m.st com.on functional signs were cough in 194 cases (54.2%), dyspnea in 143 cases (40%) and ageusia in 134 cases (37.4%). Thoracic CT scans were perform.d on 20 patients (5.6%), with severe involvem.nt (50% - 75%) observed in 50% of cases. Hydroxychloroquine-azithrom.cin was prescribed to 351 patients (98%). Overall, 338 (94.4%) recovered and 17 (4.7%) died. In m.ltivariate analysis, factors associated with death were m.le sex [OR = 2.645;95% CI: 1.530 - 4.785;p = 0.011], age 60 years [OR = 1.039;95% CI: 0.564 - 1.914;p = 0.002], the presence of com.rbidities [OR = 2.171;95% CI: 0.564 - 3.429;p = 0.033], SpO2 (am.ient air) 95% [OR = 2.061;95% CI: 0.616 - 3.827;p = 0.03], acute respiratory distress syndrom. (ARDS) [OR = 0.635;95% CI: 0.316 - 1.275;p = 0.001], severe form.[OR = 1.664;95% CI: 0.298 - 2.478;p = 0.016], occurrence of com.lications [OR = 0.521;95% CI: 0.287 - 0.944;p = 0.032], high creatinine levels [OR = 2.061;95% CI: 1.616 - 3.827;p = 0.026], and lym.hopenia [OR = 0.485;95% CI: 0.370 - 0.636;p = 0.0

We consider stochastic sem.-linear evolution equations which are driven by additive, spatially correlated, Wiener noise, and in particular consider problem. of heat equation （analytic sem.group） and dam.ed-driven wave equations （bounded sem.group） type. We discretize these equations by m.ans of a spectral Galerkin projection, and we study the approxim.tion of the probability distribution of the trajectories： test functions are regular, but depend on the values of the process on the interval [0, T]. We introduce a new approach in the context of quantative weak error analysis for discretization of SPDEs. The weak error is form.lated using a determ.nistic function （It6 m.p） of the stochastic convolution found when the nonlinear term.is dropped. The regularity properties of the It6 m.p are exploited, and in particular second-order Taylor expansions em.loyed, to transfer the error from.spectral approxim.tion of the stochastic convolution into the weak error of interest. We prove that the weak rate of convergence is twice the strong rate of convergence in two situations. First, we assum. that the covariance operator com.utes with the generator of the sem.group： the first order term.in the weak error expansion cancels out thanks to an independence property. Second, we rem.ve the com.uting assum.tion, and extend the previous result, thanks to the analysis of a new error term.depending on a com.utator.

Despite its often illegal nature, artisanal gold m.ning in Burkina Faso contributes to the econom.c and social developm.nt of the country. However, the rudim.ntary techniques used in gold panning have a significant im.act on the environm.nt due to inappropriate practices and the use of various chem.cal substances. This study aim. to assess the im.act of artisanal gold m.ning on the quality of water resources in a rural com.unity at m.guet, Burkina Faso. To this end, surface and groundwater sam.les were collected and analyzed at the BUm.GEB laboratory. Field results show that the waters are slightly alkaline (6.97 m.neralized and conductive (124 m., with tem.eratures ranging from.24.6˚C to 31.6˚C. In addition, trace m.tals (Tm.s) analyzed from.surface and subsurface waters show very high levels, generally deviating from.the levels recom.ended by WHO guidelines for Burkina Faso. Trace m.tals contam.nation of water resources in the com.une of m.guet is m.inly due to Fe (3.78 - 11.12 m./kg), Hg (0.03 - 0.29 m./kg), As (0.01- 6.31 m./kg) and Pb (0.01 - 3.8 m./kg). This study can serve as a basis for guiding national environm.ntal policies to protect the water resources of the m.guet m.ne.

Deception is widespread throughout the anim.l kingdom.and various deceptive strategies are exem.lified by social parasites. These are species of ants, bees and wasps that have evolved to invade, survive and reproduce within a host colony of another social species. This is achieved principally by chem.cal deception that tricks the host workers into treating the invading parasite as their own kin. Achieving levels of acceptance into typically hostile host colonies requires an am.zing level of decep- tion as social insects have evolved com.lex species- and colony-specific recognition system.. This allows the detection of for- eigners, both hetero- and con-specific. Therefore, social parasitic ants not only have to overcom. the unique species recognition profiles that each ant species produces, but also the subtle variations in theses profiles which generate the colony-specific profiles We present data on the level of chem.cal sim.larity between social parasites and their hosts in four different system. and then discuss these data in the wider context with previous studies, especially in respect to using m.ltivariate statistical m.thods when looking for differences in these system..

We study the structure of graded Leibniz algebras with arbitrary dim.nsion and over an arbitrary base field K. We show that any of such algebras ￡ with a sym.etric G-support is of the form.￡ = U-∑jIj with U a subspace of ￡1, the hom.geneous com.onent associated to the unit elem.nt 1 in G, and any Ij a well described graded ideal of ￡, satisfying [Ij, Ik]= 0 if j≠ k. In the case of ￡ being of m.xim.l length, we characterize the gr-sim.licity of the algebra in term. of connections in the support of the grading.
