Background This study aimed to estimate vaccine effectiveness(VE)against omicron variant infection and severe corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)in children aged 5–11 years hospitalized with acute respiratory *** A test-negative,case–control analysis was conducted from February 2022 to June *** enrolled 6950 eligible children,including 1102 cases and 5848 *** was calculated after immunization with one and two doses of BNT162b2 or *** outcomes were hospitalization with acute respiratory symptoms and detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SArS-CoV-2)infection and severe *** adjusted odds ratio for the association of prior vaccination and outcomes was used to estimate *** For fully vaccinated children,the overall estimated VE against hospitalization with SArS-CoV-2 infection was 42%[95%confidence interval(CI)26 to 54].VE peaked at 29–42 days(67%,95%CI 40%to 82%)and then declined to 19%(95%CI,−20%to 45%)at 57–120 days after the second *** BNT162b2 vaccine had a similar VE against hospitalization with SArS-CoV-2 infection(45%,95%CI,20 to 61)compared to the CoronaVac vaccine(40%,95%CI,17%to 56%).Among cases,56(5%)children died;53(94.6%)were not fully *** cases,the two-dose schedule effectiveness against ICU admission,need for invasive ventilation,severe illness,and death were 10%(95%CI,−54%–45%),22%(95%CI−70%–68%),12%(95%CI,−62%–52%),and 16%(95%CI,−77%–75%),*** For hospitalized children aged 5–11 years during the omicron-predominant period in Brazil,two doses of both vaccines had moderate effectiveness against hospitalization with acute respiratory symptoms and SArS-CoV-2 infection and offered limited protection against endpoints of COVID-19 severity.

The influence of different heat treatment strategies on the microstructure and properties of 42SiCr steel was *** compare the benefit of innovative treatment methods with more conventional ones,several strategies based on a new quenching and partitioning (Q-P) process were designed together with several strategies using more traditional quenching and tempering *** combinations of mechanical properties were obtained with ultimate strengths in the range of 1818-2120 MPa and ductility between 10% and 24%.resulting microstructures were martensitic with 0-12% of retained austenite and they were analyzed by laser scanning confocal microscopy,transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction phase analysis.

Sociability and pair-bonding in gerbils: a comparative experimental study

In a study of gerbils with contrasting social and mating systems (group-living monogamous Mongolian gerbil Meriones unguiculatus, solitary nonterritorial promiscuous midday jird M. meridianus, and solitary territorial promiscuous pale gerbil Gerbillus perpallidus), we employed part ner pref ere nee tests (PPTs) to assess among-species variation in sociability and pair-bonding patterns and tested whether the nature of contact between individuals: direct contact (DC) versus nondirect contact (NDC) affected our results. We measured male pref ere nces as the time: 1) spe nt alone, 2) with familiar (partner), and 3) unfamiliar (stranger) female in the 3-chambered apparatus. Gerbil species differed strongly in sociability and male partner preferences. The time spent alone was a reliable indicator of species sociability indepe ndent of the nature of con tact, whereas the pattern and level of betwee n-species differe nces in male partner preferences depended on con tact type: DC PPTs, un like NDC-tests, discriminated well betwee n monogamous and promiscuous species. In the DC-tests, stranger-directed aggression and stranger avoidanee were observed both in the highly social monogamous M. unguiculatus and the solitary territorial promiscuous G. perpallidus, but not in the non territorial promiscuous M. meridianus. In M. unguiculatus, stranger avoidanee in the DC-tests increased the time spent with the partner, thus providing evidence of a partner preference that was not found in the NDC-tests, whereas in G. perpallidus, stran ger avoidance in creased the time spe nt alone. This first comparative experimental study of partner prefere nces in gerbils provides new in sights into the in terspecific variation in gerbil sociality and mating systems and sheds light on behavioral mechanisms un derlyi ng social fidelity and pair-b on ding.

role of Osteoprotegerin and receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor-kB Ligand in Bone Loss related to Advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Background： Osteoporosis is a common complication of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease （COPD）. recent clinical and biological researches have increasingly delineated the biomolecular pathways of bone metabolism regulation in COPD. We extended this work by examining the specific association and potential contribution of the osteoprotegerin （OPG）/receptor activator of nuclear factor-riB ligand （rANKL） axis to the pathogenesis of osteoporosis in advanced COPD. The aim of this study was to assess the relationships of serum OPG, rANKL, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha （TNF-a） with bone turnover in men with very severe COPD. Methods： Pulmonary function, T-score at the lumbar spine （LS） and femoral neck （FN）, serum OPG, rANKL, soluble receptor of tumor necrosis factor-alpha-1 and 11 （sTNFr-I, sTNFr-II）, osteocalcin （OC）, and β-CrossLaps （βCL） levels were measured in 45 men with very severe stage COPD and 36 male non-COPD volunteers. COPD patients and healthy controls were compared using all independent t-test and Mann-Whitney U-test. The Pearson coefficient was used to assess the relationships between variables. results： OPG and OC were lower in male COPD patients than in control subjects whereas rANKL, serum ~CL, TN F-o~, and its receptors were higher. OPG directly correlated with forced expiratory volume in I s （FEVI） % predicted （r = 0.46, P 〈 0.005）, OC （r= 0.34, P 〈 0.05）, LS （I.= 0.56, P 〈 0.001 ）, and FN T-score （r= 0.47, P 〈 0.01 ）. In contrast, serum rANKL inversely associated with LS and FN T-score （r = -0.62, P 〈 0.001 and r = -0.48, P 〈 0.001 ） but directly correlated with [3CL （r = 0.48, P 〈 0.001 ）. In addition, OPG was inversely correlated with rANKL （r = -0.39, P 〈 0.01 ）, TNF-a （r = -0.56, P 〈 0.001 ）, and sTNFr-I （r = -0.40, P 〈 0.01 ）. Conelusion： Our results suggest that serum OPG and rANKL levels are inversely associated with bone loss in men with advanced stage COPD.

Investigation of Flow in Data rack

The main purpose of this paper was to set up a functioning numerical model of data rack verified by an experimental measurement. The numerical model will serve for the flow simulation inside the data rack. For the aim of experimental verification of the server model, a PIV （particle image velocimetry） method was used. The server model was projected based on the original rack Workstation Dell Precision 17,5400 （2U rack space）. The flow rate in each channel was implemented with the help of pressure loss, which was set up so that the server flow rate corresponded with the measured values. The verification of the correct functioning of the numerical model of the server was carded out together with verifying the numerical model of a small data rack. The experiment was compared with the numerical model for the case of data rack （12U rack space） fitted with two 2U rack workstations Dell Precision r5400, on which the simulation of several phases of the entire data rack with given configuration was carried out.
