Carbon capture,utilization and storage(CCUS)technologies play an essential role in achieving Net Zero Emissions *** the lack of timely reviews on the recent advancements in promising CCUS technologies,it is crucial to provide a prompt review of the CCUS advances to understand the current research gaps pertained to its industrial *** that end,this review first summarized the developmental history of CCUS technologies and the current large-scale ***,based on a visually bibliometric analysis,the carbon capture remains a hotspot in the CCUS *** that the materials applied in the carbon capture process determines its *** a result,the state-of-the-art carbon capture materials and emerging capture technologies were comprehensively summarized and *** between state-of-art carbon capture process and its ideal counterpart are analyzed,and insights into the research needs such as material design,process optimization,environmental impact,and technical and economic assessments are provided.

Experimental and computational investigation on flow characteristics of rotating cavities with high inlet pre-swirl axial throughflow

As an integral part of the internal air system of aero-engines,the axial throughflow of the cooling air can interact with the cavity flow between the rotating compressor disks,forming a threedimensional,unsteady,and unstable flow *** flow characteristics in an engine-like rotating multi-stage cavity with throughflow were investigated using particle image velocimetry,flow visualization technology and three-dimensional unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS)*** focus of current research was to understand the distribution of the mean swirl ratio and its variation with a wide range of non-dimensional parameters in the co-rotating cavity with high inlet pre-swirl axial *** maximum axial Reynolds number and rotational Reynolds numbers could reach 4.41×10^(4)and 1.24×10^(6),*** velocity measurement results indicate that the mean swirl ratio is greater than 1 and decreases with an increase in the radial *** flow structure is dominated by the Rossby number,and two different flow patterns (flow penetration and flow stratification) are identified and confirmed by flow visualization *** the absence of buoyancy,the flow penetration caused by the precession of the throughflow makes it easier for the throughflow to reach a high radius *** consistency of results between measurements and numerical calculations is *** study provides a theoretical basis and data support for toroidal vortex breakdown,which is of practical significance for the design of high-pressure compressor cavities.

Biomineralization and mineralization using microfluidics:A comparison study

Biomineralization through microbial process has attracted great attention in the field of geotechnical engineering due to its ability to bind granular materials,clog pores,and seal *** minerals formed by biomineralization are generally the same as that by mineralization,their mechanical behaviors show a significant *** study aims to figure out the differences between biomineralization and mineralization processes by visualizing and tracking the formation of minerals using *** biomineralization and mineralization processes occurred in the Y-shaped sandcontaining microchip that mimics the underground sand *** from different areas in the reaction microchannel of microchips were captured to directly compare the distribution of *** size and numbers from different reaction times were measured to quantify the differences between biomineralization and mineralization processes in terms of crystal *** showed that the crystals were precipitated in a faster and more uncontrollable manner in the mineralization process than that in the biomineralization process,given that those two processes presented similar precipitation *** addition,a more heterogeneous distribution of crystals was observed during the biomineralization *** precipitation behaviors were further explained by the classical nucleation crystal growth *** present microfluidic tests could advance the understanding of biomineralization and provide new insight into the optimization of biocementation technology.

Global climate change has increased concerns regarding biodiversity ***,many key conservation issues still required further research,including demographic history,deleterious mutation load,adaptive evolution,and putative *** we generated the first chromosome-level genome of the endangered Chinese hazelnut,Corylus chinensis,and compared the genomic signatures with its sympatric widespread ***-C yunnanensis *** found large genome rearrangements across all Corylus species and identified species-specific expanded gene families that may be involved in *** genomics revealed that both *** and the *** complex had diverged into two genetic lineages,forming a consistent pattern of southwestern-northern *** size of the narrow southwestern lineages of both species have decreased continuously since the late Miocene,whereas the widespread northern lineages have remained stable(***) or have even recovered from population bottlenecks(*** complex) during the *** with ***-C. yunnanensis complex,*** showed significantly lower genomic diversity and higher inbreeding ***,*** carried significantly fewer deleterious mutations than ***-C. yunnanensis complex,as more effective purging selection reduced the accumulation of homozygous *** also detected signals of positive selection and adaptive introgression in different lineages,which facilitated the accumulation of favorable variants and formation of local ***,both types of selection and exogenous introgression could have mitigated inbreeding and facilitated survival and persistence of ***,our study provides critical insights into lineage differentiation,local adaptation,and the potential for future recovery of endangered trees.

Distributed active vibration control for helicopter based on diffusion collaboration

The active vibration control technology has been successfully applied to several helicopter ***,with the increasing of control scale,traditional centralized control algorithms are experiencing significant increase of computational complexity and physical implementation *** address this issue,a diffusion collaboration-based distributed Filtered-x Least Mean Square algorithm applied to active vibration control is proposed,drawing inspiration from the concept of data fusion in wireless sensor *** algorithm distributes the computation load to each node,and constructs the active vibration control network topology of large-scale system by discarding the weak coupling secondary paths between nodes,achieving distributed active vibration *** order to thoroughly validate the effectiveness and superiority of this algorithm,a helicopter fuselage model is designed as the research ***,the excellent vibration reduction performance of the proposed algorithm is confirmed through ***,specialized node control units are developed,which utilize STM32 microcontroller as the processing ***,a distributed control system is constructed based on multi-processor *** on this foundation,a large-scale active vibration control experimental platform is *** on the platform,experiments are carried out,involving the 4-input 4-output system and the 8-input 8-output *** experimental results demonstrate that under steady-state harmonic excitation,the proposed algorithm not only ensures control effectiveness but also reduces computational complexity by 50%,exhibiting faster convergence speed compared with traditional centralized *** time-varying external excitation,the proposed algorithm demonstrates rapid tracking of vibration changes,with vibration amplitudes at all controlled points declining by over 94%,proving the strong robustness and adaptive capability of the algorithm

Experimental study of the damage characteristics of rocks containing non-penetrating cracks under cyclic loading

The damage evolution process of non-penetrating cracks often causes some unexpected engineering *** specimens containing non-penetrating crack(s)are used to study the damage evolution and characteristics under cyclic *** results show that under cyclic loading,the relationship between the number of non-penetrating crack(s)and the characteristic parameters(cyclic number,peak stress,peak strain,failure stress,and failure strain)of the pre-cracked specimens can be represented by a decreasing linear *** damage evolution equation is fitted by calibrating the accumulative plastic strain for each cycle,and the damage constitutive equation is proposed by the concept of effective ***,non-penetrating cracks are more likely to cause uneven stress distribution,damage accumulation,and local failure of *** local failure can change the stress distribution and relieve the inhibition of non-penetrating crack extension and eventually cause a dramatic destruction of the ***,the evolution process caused by non-penetrating cracks can be regarded as one of the important reasons for inducing *** results are expected to improve the understanding of the process of spalling formation and rockburst and can be used to analyze the stability of rocks or rock structures.

Ash removal from inferior coal via ammonium fluoride roasting and simultaneous yield of white carbon black

The quality upgrading and deashing of inferior coal by chemical method still faces great *** dangers of strong acid,strong alkali,waste water and exhaust gas as well as high cost limit its industrial *** paper systematically investigates the ash reduction and desilicification of two typical inferior coal utilizing ammonium fluoride roasting *** the optimal conditions,for fat coal and gas coal,the deashing rates are 69.02%and 54.13%,and the desilicification rates are 92.64%and 90.27%,*** molar dosage of ammonium fluoride remains consistent for both coals;however,the gas coal,characterized by a lower ash and silica content(less than half that of the fat coal),achieves optimum deashing effect at a reduced time and *** majority of silicon in coal transforms into gaseous ammonium fluorosilicate,subsequently preparing nanoscale amorphous silica with a purity of 99.90%through ammonia *** of the fluorine in deashed coal are assigned in inorganic minerals,suggesting the possibility of further fluorine and ash removal via *** research provides a green and facile route to deash inferior coal and produce nano-scale white carbon black simultaneously.

Phonon lasers or coherent amplifications of mechanical oscillations are powerful tools for fundamental studies on coherent acoustics and hold potential for diverse applications,ranging from ultrasensitive force sensing to phononic information ***,we propose the use of an optomechanical resonator coupled to a nonlinear optical resonator for directional phonon *** find that by pumping the nonlinear optical resonator,directional optical squeezing can occur along the pump *** a result,we can achieve the directional mechanical gain using directional optical squeezing,thereby leading to nonreciprocal phonon lasing with a well-tunable directional power *** work proposes a feasible way to build nonreciprocal phonon lasers with various nonlinear optical media,which are important for a wide range of applications,such as directional acoustic amplifiers,invisible sound sensing or imaging,and one-way phononic networks.

Stage separation of recoverable liquid launch vehicle by using moving pulsating ball analogue for propellant sloshing

In the process of stage separation of recoverable liquid launch vehicles,because of the large amount of residual fuel in the storage tanks,the influence of liquid sloshing on separation safety must be *** calculation simplicity and operation practicability,the Moving Pulsating Ball Model(MPBM)of large amplitude liquid sloshing is introduced into the calculation of launch vehicle stage *** the dynamic equation of the model with the energy relationship during"breathing movement",the formula calculating the force of liquid on the rigid body is *** with the calculations of commercial CFD calculation software,the accuracy of MPBM model is ***,all the external forces and moments are applied to the rigid body of the stages,so that the translational and rotational dynamic equations of the stages are obtained *** to the relative position of the two stages,the geometric shape of the interstage section and the engine of the second stage,the minimum clearance in the separation process can be decided to guarantee that the separation process is safe.
