Identification of microRNA-mRNA regulatory networks and pathways related to retinoblastoma across human and mouse

AIM: To explore the m RNA and pathways related to retinoblastoma(RB) genesis and ***: Microarray datasets GSE29683(human) and GSE29685(mouse) were downloaded from NCBI GEO database. Homologous genes between the two species were identified using WGCNA, followed by protein-protein interaction(PPI) network construction and gene enrichment analysis. Disease-related mi RNAs and pathways were retrieved from mi R2 Disease database and Comparative Toxicogenomics Database(CTD), ***: A total of 352 homologous genes were identified. Two pathways including "cell cycle" and "pathway in cancer" in CTD and enrichment analysis were identified and seven mi RNAs(including hsa-mi R-373, hsa-mi R-34 a, hsami R-129, hsa-mi R-494, hsa-mi R-503, hsa-let-7 and hsami R-518 c) were associated with RB. mi RNAs modulate "cell cycle" and "pathway in cancer" pathways via regulating 13 genes(including CCND1, CDC25 C, E2 F2, CDKN2 D and TGFB2).CONCluSION: These results suggest that these mi RNAs play crucial roles in RB genesis through "cell cycle" and "pathway in cancer" pathways by regulating their targets including CCND1, CDC25 C, E2 F2 and CDKN2 D.

For the laboratory astrophysics community, those spectroscopic modeling codes extensively used in astronomy, e.g. Chianti, AtomDB, Cloudy and Xstar, cannot be directly applied to analyzing laboratory measurements due to their discrepancies from astrophysical cases. For example, plasma from an electron beam ion trap has an electron energy distribution that follows a Gaussian profile, instead of a Maxwellian one. The laboratory miniature for a compact object produced by a laser-driven implo- sion shows a departure from equilibrium, that often occurs in celestial objects, so we setup a spectral analysis system for astrophysical and laboratory （SASAL） plasmas to act as a bridge between them, which benefits the laboratory astrophysical community.

Compared to transient simulation,steady-state simulation of circulating fluidized bed risers is more efficient,but is also harder to perform due to the complex scale-dependency of dense gas-solid *** this work,steady-state computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation of a riser is performed using the steady energy-minimization multi-scale(EMMS)*** is found that the steady state corresponds to an extremely large scale of length and time,thus the grid size required in steady-state simulation is larger than that in transient *** time-averaged two-fluid model(TFM)coupled with the steady-state EMMS/1M drag model enables a good prediction of the S-shaped,axial solids distribution and the choking transition,whereas the two-phase turbulence and solids stress models are important in predicting the radially core-annular distribution of *** far as we know,this is the first time that one can predict the choking transition in a steady-state CFD *** improvement may need an EMMS modeling of the time-averaged solid stresses.

Dear Editor,This letter develops a novel method to implement event-triggered optimal control(ETOC) for discrete-time nonlinear systems using parallel control and deep reinforcement learning(DRL), referred to as Deep-ETOC. The developed Deep-ETOC method introduces the communication cost into the performance index through parallel control, so that the developed method enables control systems to learn ETOC policies directly without triggering conditions.

The alloy-type material Sb is widely used in the anode materials of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)due to its high theoretical specific ***,its serious volume expansion problem during alloying/dealloying of Li~+limits its practical *** this work,C-Sb composite was constructed as anode material of LIBs by electrospinning route for the first time,Sb was introduced into the polyacrylonitrile-based hard carbon and coal tar pitch-based soft carbon composite amorphous carbon fiber with a diameter of 300-600 nm,which realized high cycling *** C-Sb-2(the mass ratio of polyacrylonitrile to Sb source is 1:2)electrode displayed charge capacities of 1098.5,930.3,841.7,753.5,643.9 and 545.8 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.1,0.2,0.3,0.5,1 and 2 A·g^(-1),*** when the current density returned to 0.1 A·g^(-1),the charge capacity was 939.3 mAh·g^(-1),revealing good stability and *** introduction of Sb into the amorphous carbon improved its conductivity and addressed the volume expansion issue of high specific capacity Sb during charge/***-situ XRD analysis confirmed the high reversibility of the C-Sb-2 during charging and *** functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed the gradual enhancement of the interface interaction between Sb_(x)Li_(y) and amorphous carbon(AMC)with increasing lithium content,contributing to the anchoring of alloy nanoparticles on the AMC surface and buffering the volume change of the ***,the gradual lithiation of Sb facilitated the electron transfer from Sb_(x)Li_(y) to *** findings hold promise for designing lithium storage materials with exceptional performance,highlighting the potential of C-Sb composites as anode materials for efficient next-generation lithium storage.

Efficient hemostasis during emergency trauma with massive bleeding remains a critical challenge in prehospital ***,multiple hemostatic strategies are critical for treating large bleeding *** this study,inspired by bombardier beetles to eject toxic spray for defense,a shape-memory aerogel with an aligned microchannel structure was proposed,employing thrombin-carrying microparticles loaded as a built-in engine to generate pulse ejections for enhanced drug *** aerogels,after contact with blood,can rapidly expand inside the wound,offering robust physical barrier blocking,sealing the bleeding wound,and generating a spontaneous local chemical reaction causing an explosivelike generation of CO_(2) microbubbles,which provide propulsion thrust to accelerate burst ejection from arrays of microchannels for deeper and faster drug *** ejection behavior,drug release kinetics,and permeation capacity were evaluated using a theoretical model and experimentally *** novel aerogel showed remarkable hemostatic performance in severely bleeding wounds in a swine model and demonstrated good degradability and biocompatibility,displaying great potential for clinical application in humans.

AIM： To observe the effects of augmenter of liver regeneration （ALR） on Kupffer cells and to determine whether ALR promotes hepatocyte proliferation induced by Kupffer cells. METHODS： Kupffer cells and hepatocytes were cultured in vitro and various concentrations of recombinant rat ALR （rrALR） were added. ^3H-thymidine, BrdU and ^3H-leucine incorporation was determined in cultured Kupffer cells and hepatocytes, in hepatocytes conditioned by Kupffer cells, and in associated medium, rrALR was labeled by iodination and used to determine its binding activity by Scatchard analysis in Kupffer cells and primarily cultured rat hepatocytes. RESULTS： rrALR stimulated DNA replication in Kupffer cells and protein synthesis both in cells and in medium in a non-concentration-dependent manner. The effect was significant at the concentration of 1μg/L ALR. However, rrALR had no effect on primarily cultured hepatocytes, when hepatocytes were cultured with the Kupffer cell medium conditioned by ALR, DNA replication and protein synthesis in hepatocytes increased significantly at the concentration of 1μg/L ALR. When the ALR concentration was increased, its effect on hepatocyte proliferation decreased to the basal level. Scatchard analysis indicated the presence of a single class of high affinity receptors with a dissociation constant （Kd） of 0.883 nmol/L and a maximum binding capacity （Bmax） of 126.1 pmol/g protein in the rat Kupffer cells. CONCluSION： ALR can promote hepatocyte proliferation induced by Kupffer cells, which is associated with the concentration of ALR, suggesting that Kupffer cells play a dual role in liver regeneration.

Ghost imaging in the time domain allows for reconstructing fast temporal objects using a slow *** technique involves correlating random or pre-programmed probing temporal intensity patterns with the integrated signal measured after modulation by the temporal ***,the implementation of temporal ghost imaging necessitates ultrafast detectors or modulators for measuring or pre-programming the probing intensity patterns,which are not available in all spectral regions especially in the mid-infrared ***,we demonstrate a frequency downconversion temporal ghost imaging scheme that enables to extend the operation regime to arbitrary wavelengths regions where fast modulators and detectors are not *** approach modulates a signal with temporal intensity patterns in the near-infrared and transfers the patterns to an idler via difference-frequency generation in a nonlinear crystal at a wavelength where the temporal object can be *** a proof-of-concept,we demonstrate computational temporal ghost imaging in the mid-infrared with operating wavelength that can be tuned from 3.2 to 4.3μ*** scheme is flexible and can be extended to other *** results introduce new possibilities for scan-free pump-probe imaging and the study of ultrafast dynamics in spectral regions where ultrafast modulation or detection is challenging such as the mid-infrared and THz regions.

Background:Climate change profoundly shapes the population health at the global ***,there was still insufficient and inconsistent evidence for the association between heat exposure and chronic kidney disease(CKD).Methods:In the present study,we studied the association of heat exposure with hospitalizations for cause-specific CKD using a national inpatient database in China during the study period of hot season from 2015 to *** time-series regression models and random-effects Meta-analysis were developed to estimate the city-specific and national averaged associations at a 7 lag-day span,***:A total of 768,129 hospitalizations for CKD was recorded during the study *** results showed that higher temperature was associated with elevated risk of hospitalizations for CKD,especially in sub-tropical *** a 1℃ increase in daily mean temperature,the cumulative relative risks(RR)over lag 0-7 d were 1.008[95% confidence interval(CI)1.003-1.012]for *** attributable fraction of CKD hospitalizations due to high temperatures was 5.50%.Stronger associations were observed among younger patients and those with obstructive *** study also found that exposure to heatwaves was associated with added risk of hospitalizations for CKD compared to non-heatwave days(RR=1.116,95%CI 1.069-1.166)above the effect of daily mean ***:Short-term heat exposure may increase the risk of hospitalization for *** findings provide insights into the health effects of climate change and suggest the necessity of guided protection strategies against the adverse effects of high temperatures.
