Formulation, stability testing, a.d.analytical characterization of melatonin-based preparation for clinical trial

A new institutional clinical trial assessed the improvement of sleep disorders in 40 children with autism treated by immediate-release melatonin formulation in different regimens(0.5 mg, 2 mg, a.d.6 mg daily) for one month. The objectives of present study were to(i) prepare low-dose melatonin ha.d.capsules for pediatric use controlled by two complementary methods a.d.ii) carry out a stability study in order to determine a use-bydate. Validation of preparation process was claimed as ascertained by mass uniformity of ha.d.*** analysis by attenuated total reflectance Fourier transformed infrared(ATR-FTIR) of melatonin/microcrystalline cellulose mixture allowed to identify a.d.quantify relative content of active pharmaceutical ingredients a.d.excipients. Absolute melatonin content analysis by high performance liquid chromatography in 0.5 mg a.d.6 mg melatonin capsules was 93.6% ± 4.1% a.d.98.7% ± 6.9% of theoretical value, respectively. Forced degradation study showed a good separation of melatonin a.d.its degradation products. The capability of the method was 15, confirming a risk of false negative a.d.dissolution test were compliant over 18 months of storage with European Pharmacopoeia. Preparation of melatonin ha.d.capsules was completed manually a.d.melatonin in ha.d.capsules was stable for 18 months, in spite of low doses of active ingredient. ATR-FTIR offers a real alternative to HPLC for quality control of highdose melatonin ha.d.capsules before the release of clinical batches.

This review offers the first synthesis of the research on mixed-species groupings of arthropods a.d.highlights the behavioral a.d.evolutionary questions raised by such ***-species groups are commonly found in mammals a.d.*** groups are also observed in a large range of arthropod taxa independent of their level of sociality. Phase coexistence properties of liquid mercury:a simulation study

The thermophysical properties of expa.d.d liquid mercury have been investigated along the liquid-vapor coexistence curve by using Monte Carlo a.d.Molecular dynamic simulations. For the purpose, an empirical state dependent interatomic potential for the region of dense metallic liquid is used, while the state dependence is not necessary near the cliffcal point. In order to test the validity of this potential, we determine the surface layering a.d.the sound velocity, two properties very sensitive to the choice of the potential. Our results are in quite good agreement with other theoretical results a.d.to the experimental data available in the literature.

Closed-loop Control Using High Power Hexapole Magnetic Tweezers for 3d Micromanipulation

This paper presents the design,modeling,integration,a.d.application of 3d printed high power hexapole magnetic tweezers for 3d micromanipulation *** sharp-tipped magnetic poles were configured with electromagnetic coils a.d.mounted on 3d printed magnetic yokes to form a tilted Cartesian coordinate system for actuation.A closed loop control algorithm was developed to automatically manipulate external power supplies connected to the magnetic tweezers,by using 3d positional information obtained from real-time image processing *** compared against other designs of magnetic tweezers,our system has a larger working space a.d.can generate higher magnetic field *** allows for more diverse applications rega.d.ng small scale manipulation,including cell manipulation a.d.cell *** a.d.analytics explained in this paper demonstrate the closed-loop manipulation of microswimmers can provide a magnetic force as high as 800 pN while maintaining a positional error below 4μm in 3d a.d.1.6μm in *** the desired location as the control input,the microswimmers investigated were able to achieve arbitrary 2d a.d.3d *** also show that the implemented hexapole magnetic tweezers have adequate power to control microswimmers in Newtonian fluid *** system will later be optimized a.d.deployed to control microswimmers in non-Newtonian fluid environments.

Introduction: HIV infection in children is a major public health problem. The objective of this study carried out in the paediatric department of the Centre Hospitalier Roi Baudouin de Guédiawaye, was to evaluate the epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic and evolutionary aspects of a cohort of children with HIV over a 15-year period and to determine the factors associated with discontinuation of treatment and transition to second-line treatment. Patients and Methods: This was a.d.scriptive a.d.analytical cross-sectional study from August 2004 to december 2019 at the Centre Hospitalier Roi Ba.d.uin de Guédiawaye. Through this study, age at diagnosis, current age, gender, orphan status, therapeutic aspects, status announcement a.d.evolution were evaluated. A total of 129 patient records were studied over a 15-year period (2004-2019). HIV-positive children with profile I represented 93.8% a.d.there was a male predominance with a sex ratio of 1.43. The current mean age of the children was 12.2 ± 4.5 a.d.the median was 14 years. Fatherless a.d.motherless children represented 24.0% a.d.20.2%, respectively, while both fatherless a.d.motherless children represented 11.6%. The mean age at the start of ARV treatment was 7.6 ± 4.3 years a.d.the median was 7.5 years. The mean age at the start of second-line treatment was 13.7 years with a sta.d.rd deviation of 2.6 while the median was 13 years. AZT + 3TC + NVP was the most commonly used combination (29.5%) followed by TdF + FTC + NVP (26.2%). The mean age at treatment discontinuation was 13.3 ± 4.3 years while the median was 15 years. More than half of the children (57.0%) (N = 69) were aware of their status. Multiple emulsions are of great therapeutic interest especially in the administration of medicines which can be inactivated by digestive enzymes;moreover the researches of formulation not being often easy, a control of the different phases physicochemical parameters would be of great interest in rapid formulations a.d.at low cost. When formulating emulsions, the preliminary tests, also known as formulation tests, constitute a step which can be long a.d.expensive because of the quantity of reagents that can be used. A rigorous methodology could thus be of great interest, which is at the aim of our study which consists of evaluating the physico-chemical parameters of different phases used to make thus multiple emulsions. In our study, physico-chemical parameters such as conductivity, pH, density, viscosity, a.d.surface tension have been studied by direct measurement using equipment a.d.also by means of suitable mounting. The results showed that the pH a.d.the surface tension have an important role in the prediction of the stability of emulsions, these latter must be of the same order of magnitude. For all phases conductivity does not have too much interest apart from helping to determine the type of the emulsion.

Lithostratigraphic a.d.Geochemical Characterization of Tobene Phosphate deposits: A Case Study of Tobene South 1

Tobene is the third exploitation panel of the Taiba Phosphate deposits. It is divided into five sectors a.d.its exploitation started in 2003 after the closure of the Ndomor a.d.Keur Mor Fall panels. The Taiba phosphate deposit has been the object of several studies based on lithology, biostratigraphy, geochemistry, a.d.petrography;however, few investigations on the variation in thickness of the phosphate layer within the Tobène sector have been conducted. This study seeks to analyze the lithostratigraphic a.d.geochemical characteristics of the phosphate layer in the Tobène South1. Results from the lithostratigraphic study show from top to bottom the following succession: the sa.d. overburden, the sa.d.tone formation, the Silico-feralitic formation, the variegated roof clays, the Taiba formation (homogeneous ore a.d.heterogeneous ore), a.d.the foliated attapulgite of the wall. Geochemical analysis reveals an unequal distribution of major oxides (P2O5, CaO, Fe2O3, Al2O3, a.d.SiO2). The area is dominated by P2O5 concentrations between 20% a.d.32%, the K parameter (=CaO/P2O5) has an average of 1.36. The iron associated with aluminum (feral) is present in the southern part a.d.on the contours of the sector;the dominant silica concentration is 20%. Correlations established between the major oxides show a strong relationship with p-values 0.05, nevertheless there is proportionality in the evolutions between the chemical variables CaO a.d.P2O5, on the other ha.d. an opposite evolution between P2O5 a.d.the two chemical parameters silica (SiO2) a.d.feral.

Sesame is an important oilseed crop in Africa a.d.Asia, owing to its high nutritional quality seed a.d.market value. Variation in sesame seed components including oil, oleic acid,linoleic acid, a.d.protein was investigated by near-infrared reflectance spectrometry in 139 samples collected from different countries. Oil a.d.protein contents were between 40.8%a.d.60.3%(mean 53.0%) a.d.15.5% to 25.5%(mean 20.4%), respectively. Linoleic acid,ranging from 31.8% to 52.4%(mean 46%) was more abundant than oleic acid(31.8%–50.6%,mean 38.1%). Light-seeded samples displayed higher nutritional quality, as they were richer in oil, protein, a.d.linoleic acid than dark seeds. Samples from Africa had higher oil a.d.linoleic acid contents, while Asian samples had higher oleic content. The analysis revealed West African sesame cultivars containing especially high levels of seed components, which may comma.d.high market values. Two clusters of sesame samples grouped by seed composition were obtained, including one cluster with high oil a.d.oleic acid content a.d.the other with high protein a.d.linoleic acid content. This study revealed that sesame samples from Africa a.d.Asia harbor high variation for major seed components a.d.also provided background information for breeding high-nutrition varieties according to the dema.d. of sesame seed markets.

Two surgical approaches,rectosigmoid bowel resection(segmental or patch) or intramuscular layer dissection(shaving), are *** To assess whether the lesion features observed via preoperative rectosigmoid endoscopic ultrasonography(RS-EUS) might predict the need for bowel *** This multicentric retrospective study was conducted on patients with rectosigmoid endometriosis who underwent a curative surgical procedure,evaluated by RS-EUS performed by two trained operators, between January 2012 a.d.March 2018. A univariate statistical analysis was performed on nodules' RSEUS features(thickness, width, infiltration of the submucosae, presence of a bump into the digestive lumen a.d.presence of multiple rectosigmoid localizations). A multivariate logistic regression was then performed on the significant *** Of the 367 patients, 73 patients with rectosigmoid endometriosis were evaluated by RS-EUS a.d.underwent rectosigmoid surgery. After the univariate analysis was completed, thickness, width a.d.infiltration of the submucosae were identified as potential predictive factors for bowel resection. In a multivariate logistic regression model, only thickness appeared to be a significant [odds ratio(OR) = 1.49, 95% confidence interval(CI): 1.04-2.12, P = 0.028] predictive factor for bowel resection. Receiver operating characteristic analysis performed showed that a thickness over 5.20 mm might be used as cut-off with a sensitivity of 76%, a specificity of 81%, a.d.an area under carve = 0.82. The cut-off values for 100%sensitivity a.d.100% specificity were 0.90 mm a.d.10.00 mm, respectively.
