Unintentional emissions of polychlorinated naphthalenes in China:Sources,composition,and historical trends

Polychlorinated naphthalenes(PCNs)are detrimental to human health and the *** the commercial production of PCNs banned,unintentional releases have emerged as a significant environmental ***,relevant information is still *** this study,provincial emissions for eight PCNs homologues from 37 sources in the Chinese mainland during the period of 1960-2019 were estimated based on a source-specific and time-varying emission factor *** results showed that the total PCNs emissions in 2019 reached 757.0 kg with Hebei ranked at the top among all the provinces and iron&steel industry as the biggest ***-chlorinated PCNs comprised 90%of emissions by mass,while highly chlorinated PCNs dominated in terms of toxicity,highlighting divergent priorities for mitigating emissions and safeguarding human *** emissions showed an overall upward trend from 1960 to 2019 driven by emission increase from iron&steel industry in terms of source,and from North China and East China in terms of geographic ***-capita emissions followed an inverted U-shaped environmental Kuznets curvewhile emission intensities decreased with increasing per-capita Gross Domestic Product(GDP)following a nearly linear pattern when log-transformed.

Water wave energy exhibits great potential toalleviate the global energy crisis. However, harvesting andutilizing wave energy are challenging due to its irregularity,randomness, and low frequency. Triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs) have gained significant attention for harvesting waveenergy with high efficiency. This study presents a novelellipsoidal, pendulum-like TENG integrating both liquid-liquid(L-L) and solid-solid (S-S) triboelectricity (LS-TENG). Thisinnovative design enables continuous wave energy harvestingand self-powered marine environment monitoring under variousconditions, including temperature, humidity, and light intensity. The binary immiscible liquids within the LS-TENG’s innersoft balloon create dynamic, and self-adjustable L-L contact interfaces, significantly increasing the L-L contact area andenhancing L-L contact electrification (CE). The unique self-adaptive, soft S-S contact increases the S-S contact areacompared to traditional hard point contact, better adapting to the irregular movements of waves and promoting efficient S-SCE. The LS-TENG achieves highly efficient wave energy harvesting by coupling L-L and S-S CE. Furthermore, the uniquesoft contact design protects the S-S interfaces from mechanical wear and damage during long-term work. The LS-TENG’snovel structure provides an innovative and effective way for water wave energy harvesting.

Prediction and stratification for the surgical adverse events after minimally invasive esophagectomy:A two-center retrospective study

BACKGROUND Minimally invasive esophagectomy(MIE)is a widely accepted treatment for esophageal cancer,yet it is associated with a significant risk of surgical adverse events(SAEs),which can compromise patient recovery and long-term *** preoperative identification of high-risk patients is critical for improving *** To establish and validate a risk prediction and stratification model for the risk of SAEs in patients with *** This retrospective study included 747 patients who underwent MIE at two centers from January 2019 to February *** were separated into a train set(n=549)and a validation set(n=198).After screening by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression,multivariate logistic regression analyzed clinical and intraoperative variables to identify independent risk factors for SAEs.A risk stratification model was constructed and validated to predict the probability of *** SAEs occurred in 10.2%of patients in train set and 13.6%in the validation *** with SAE had significantly higher complication rate and a longer hospital stay after *** key independent risk factors identified included chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,a history of alcohol consumption,low forced expiratory volume in the first second,and low albumin *** stratification model has excellent prediction accuracy,with an area under the curve of 0.889 for the training set and an area under the curve of 0.793 for the validation *** The developed risk stratification model effectively predicts the risk of SAEs in patients undergoing MIE,facilitating targeted preoperative interventions and improving perioperative management.

Impact of Alpine Wetland Succession to Soil Bacterial Diversity

This study aims to explore the characteristics of change and the rules of response of the soil bacterial community structure and diversity during the evolution of alpine wetlands. It also seeks to identify the leading factors affecting changes in the soil bacterial community，with the goal of providing a scientific basis for the restoration and management of alpine wetland ecosystems. Three different types of wetlands （original alpine wetland，alpine wet meadow，and alpine meadow） were selected to represent the succession process of alpine wetlands. The composition and diversity of the soil bacterial communities were analyzed using high-throughput sequencing technology. The findings revealed the following：① Proteobacteria and Acidobacteria were the predominant bacteria，with their relative abundance exceeding 20.08%. In the alpine wetland，Nitrosomonadaceae and RB41 were the dominant bacteria. Meanwhile，Chthoniobacteraceae and Candidatus_Udaeobacter were the dominant genera in the alpine wet meadow and alpine meadow，respectively. ② Although no significant change was observed in community diversity，significant differences were present in the structure of the soil bacterial community at different succession stages （P © 2025 Science Press. Time dilation constitutes a crucial aspect of Lorentz invariance within special relativity and undergoes constant scrutiny through numerous Ives-Stilwell-type experiments employing the Doppler effect. In our study, we employed optical Ramsey spectroscopy on a Li+ ion beam to enhance the precision of measuring the intrinsic transition frequency 23S1 - 23P2 to the level of four parts in 1010 with speed of 0.00035c. Our findings reconciled an existing 2 MHz disparity between collinear and perpendicular laser spectroscopy. Furthermore, in conjunction with previous studies on Li+ ion beams traveling at speeds of 0.064c and 0.338c [Nat. Phys. 3, 861 (2007);Phys. Rev. Lett. 113, 120405 (2014)], we updated the Robertson-Mansouri-Sexl parameter alpha to be (-10.0 f 9.9) x 10-8 and (-2.9 f 2.0) x 10-8, respectively. (c) 2024 Chinese Laser Press

Lysobacter enzymogenes is less-studied, but emerging as a powerful biocontrol bacterium producing multiple antimicrobial weapons including lytic enzymes, toxins, secondary metabolites and protein secretion *** loss of surface-attached flagellum, production of heat-stable antifungal factor(HSAF, also named as Ningrongmycin) as a novel antifungal antibiotic, and the use of the type Ⅳ secretion system(T4SS) rather than the common type Ⅵ secretion system(T6SS) to kill competitor bacteria make this species unique. These distinct features set L. enzymogenes apart from well-studied plant beneficial biocontrol agents, such as Bacillus and Pseudomonas. This review describes what takes L. enzymogenes to be a unique biocontrol warrior by focusing to illustrate how the lack of flagellum governs morphological and functional co-adaptability, what adapted signaling transduction pathways are adopted to coordinate the biosynthesis of HSAF, and how to ecologically adapt plant rhizosphere by cell-to-cell interacting with microbiome members via the bacterial-killing T4SS.

“谐”是中国文学中重要的审美范畴,广泛存在于文学创作中。朱英诞的诗与“谐”存在不解之缘。朱英诞谐诗观,推重真实平淡的诗质,寓庄于谐的诗意,谐隐结合的诗语。依据谐诗的成分构成、情感色彩与书写内容,朱英诞谐诗呈现为典型性谐诗与渗透性谐诗、谐谑性谐诗与讽刺性谐诗、梦幻性谐诗与现实性谐诗。朱英诞谐诗实践表现出的特质为:反常合道、曲径通幽的诗思建构,雅俗结合、新鲜陌生的诗语选取,以奇取胜、以怪致笑的修辞手段。朱英诞将“谐”从一种乐观的人生态度转化为趣味性的诗学营养,其诗呈现出庄谐杂陈、奇趣盎然的独特美学风貌。

DNA2, a multifunctional enzyme with structure-specific nuclease, 5'-to-3' helicase, and DNA-dependent ATPase activities, plays a pivotal role in the cellular response to DNA damage. However, its involvement in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) injury remains to be *** study investigated the involvement of DNA2 in cerebral I/R injury using conditional knockout(cKO) mice(Nestin-Cre) subjected to middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO), an established model of cerebral I/R. Results demonstrated a gradual up-regulation of DNA2 expression,peaking at 72 h post-MCAO. Notably, DNA2 cKO mice exhibited more pronounced brain injury, neurological deficits, and neuronal apoptosis within the penumbra following MCAO. Additionally, DNA2 expression was elevated in an oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation(OGD/R) cell culture model, and DNA2 knockdown(KD)exacerbated neuronal apoptosis and oxidative *** analysis of ischemic penumbra tissues via RNA sequencing revealed significant down-regulation of Homer1 in DNA2 cKO mice. Furthermore, in vitro experiments demonstrated that overexpression of Homer1a ameliorated DNA2 KD-induced neuronal apoptosis. Collectively, these findings demonstrate that DNA2 deficiency exacerbates cerebral I/R injury through the down-regulation of Homer1a, highlighting a novel regulatory axis in ischemic neuroprotection.
