Bandwidth limits of luminescent solar concentrators as detectors in free-space optical communication systems

Luminescent solar concentrators(LSCs)have recently emerged as a promising receiver technology in free-space optical communications due to their inherent ability to collect light from a wide field-of-view and concentrate it into small areas,thus leading to high optical *** high-speed communication systems integrating LSCs in their detector blocks have already been demonstrated,with the majority of efforts so far being devoted to maximising the received optical power and the system's ***,LSCs may pose a severe bottleneck on the bandwidth of such communication channels due to the comparably slow timescale of the fluorescence events involved,a situation further aggravated by the inherent reabsorption in these systems,and yet,an in-depth study into such dynamic effects remains absent in the *** fill this gap,we have developed a comprehensive analytical solution that delineates the fundamental bandwidth limits of LSCs as optical detectors in arbitrary free-space optical links,and establishes their equivalence with simple RC low-pass electrical ***,we demonstrate a time-domain Monte Carlo simulation platform,an indispensable tool in the multiparameter optimisation of LSC-based receiver *** work offers vital insight into LSC system dynamic behaviour and paves the way to evaluate the technology for a wide range of applications,including visible light communications,high-speed video recording,and real-time biological imaging,to name a few.

Growth of Niobium Thin Films on Si Substrates by Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser Deposition

The growth of Nb thin films on Si（100） substrates by different laser fluences （4-15 J/cm2） was reported, The pulsed Nd：YAG laser deposition （PLD） under influence of laser fluence on ablation rate and deposition rate was discussed. X-ray diffraction （XRD） investigations of the deposited films showed an amorphous structure. The droplet density on the film surface observed by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） analyses was extremely low. It was experimentally proved that the droplets on the film surface originated from liquid phase on the target surface, Profilometric measurements of the deposited Nb films revealed a substantial asymmetry in the film thickness related to the plume deflection effect. The measured electrical resistivity of the Nb film was higher than that of high purity Nb bulk. The present investigations of ablation and deposition process of Nb thin films are related to its potential application in superconducting radio-frequency （SRF） cavities.

Approaching Differentiated Instruction via the Attitudes and the Opinions of Greek Primary School Teachers： An Empirical Investigation

In the modern educational reality, as it is influenced by the social developments, the diversity of school potential is intensely highlighted. At the same time, the standardization of the teaching process appears to be insufficient to meet the modern instructive requirements, while it is vastly supported that differentiated teaching can sufficiently respond to the modern instructive needs. Moreover, it is pointed out that differentiated teaching is another way of thinking on the instructive work. On that basis and with a view to investigating the functionalist dimensions of differentiated teaching, a research of empiric character was attempted geared toward at the investigation of attitudes and opinions of Greek primary school teachers with regard to the differentiated teaching. The structured questionnaire was used as a research tool and the main conclusions showed not only the limited briefing of the sample teachers, with regard to the theoretical and applicable functionalism of differentiated teaching, but also the conviction that the differentiated teaching has the potential to treat students equally while functioning as a driving force for the dynamic forming of knowledge by the students themselves.

Rights of the Child in Greek Language Textbooks in the Greek Primary School： An Empirical Approach

The focus of this study is to investigate the school textbooks of Greek Language, particular emphasis being paid on the search via their content of the level of emergence of the Rights of the Child. The research focuses on the specific topic, as school textbooks are utilized at the most during schooling and also, as they constitute the basis for the linguistic transfer of messages, values, and attitudes, which are used in all subjects and in the majority of teaching activities and actions. In addition, school textbooks of Greek Language contribute significantly to the cultural understanding and development of the child. This whole dimension is attempted to be highlighted in the present study, the main outcome of which is that via the school textbooks of Greek Language of the last three grades of the Greek Primary School, the emergence of the Rights of the Child is attempted at a satisfactory level. The present research is an empirical approach to textbooks of Greek Language of Greek Primary School on the Rights of the Child and it is innovative, for being the first evaluative approach on the aforementioned issue, since the last review of school textbooks in the Greek.

Two recently published studies published in Science by Daly et al.1 and Cantuti-Castelvetri et al.2 identified neuropilin-1(NRP1)as an additional cellular mediator which may facilitate the entry of the new severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)-coronavirus(CoV)-2(SARS-CoV-2)into host *** findings of these elegant studies collectively indicate that,in addition to the role of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)in mediating the cellular entry of SARS-CoV-2;NRP1 may act as a host cell mediator that can increase the infectivity and may thus contribute to the tissue/organ tropism of this coronavirus.

The aim of this paper is the evaluation of the performance of a low pressure PEM （proton exchange membrane） fuel cell stack to step load changes, which are characteristic of standalone fuel cell system applications. The goal is a better understanding of the electrical behavior of the FC （fuel cell）, as a result of the electrochemical processes, via the cell＇s voltage characteristic during transient response. While changing the load, the performance of significant parameters affected such as temperature, pressure, purge status etc. are registered and evaluated. The analysis and experiment are based on a low pressure 1.2 kW PEM fuel cell stack （NEXAS power module）. Then, the experiment is simulated using Matlab/Simulink tools, while PCU （power conditioning units） are added in order to control power flow for enhanced performance. Finally, both operational and simulation data are compared to each other showing that simple PCUs applications can improve system＇s efficiency.
