Nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)is a malignant disease associated with Epstein–Barr virus(EBV)*** study aims to examine the effects of EBV infection on the production of proinflammatory cytokines in NPC cells after the Zn-BC-AM photodynamic therapy(PDT)*** were treated with the photosensitiser Zn-BC-AM for 24 h before light *** ELISA was used to evaluate the production of *** the same experimental condition,HK-1-EBV cells produced a higher basal level of IL-1a(1561 pg/ml),IL-1b(16.6 pg/ml)and IL-8(422.9 pg/ml)than the HK-1 *** the light dose of 0.25–0.5 J/cm2,Zn-BC-AM PDT-treated HK-1-EBV cells were found to produce a higher level of IL-1a and IL-1b than the HK-1 *** production of IL-1b appeared to be mediated via the IL-1b-converting enzyme(ICE)-independent *** contrast,the production of angiogenic IL-8 was downregulated in both HK-1 and HK-1-EBV cells after Zn-BC-AM *** results suggest that Zn-BC-AM PDT might indirectly reduce tumour growth through the modulation of cytokine production.

DLC1 is a focal adhesion molecule that regulates cell polarity,proliferation,migration,and ***1 functions as a tumor suppressor and its expression is often down-regulated *** malignant neoplasms of epithelial *** studies have suggested that lack of DLC1 in endothelial cells may contribute to the development of angiosarcoma,and that DLC1 mutations have been identified in patients with nephrotic syndrome,a disease mainly due to leaky glomerular filtration *** demonstrate whether lack of endothelial DLC1 induces angiosarcoma and/or damages glomerular capillaries leading to nephrotic syndrome,we have extended our analyses on endothelial cell-specific DLC1 knockout mice with focuses on their liver and kidney *** were monitored up to 24 months of ***,no histological or clinical difference was found between DLC1 knockout and wild type mice,indicating that lack of endothelial DLC1 alone does not compromise kidney and liver function in mice.

Most stochastic modelling techniques neglect the correlations among the raw un-differenced observations when forming the variance-covariance matrix of the Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)*** methods were developed to model these *** such method is the Minimum Norm Quadratic Unbiased Estimator(MINQUE).Studies have shown that MINQUE improves ambiguity resolution,and ultimately,the positioning solution in short ***,its effect in cases of processing with longer baselines and on the estimation of zenith wet delay(ZWD)is somewhat *** this paper,a comparison between the impact of neglecting the correlations among the observations using an elevation-angle-dependent model(EADM)and modelling the correlations using MINQUE on height determination and ZWD for medium and long baselines is carried *** initial testing was carried out across two Australian GNSS stations with a medium-length baseline throughout a three-week *** results showed that using MINQUE did not resolve the coordinate,height and wet delay components as accurately as the *** results were further verified with two long-baseline campaigns whereby EADM was also able to provide better wet delay *** coordinate results were,however,***,the study concluded that the inclusion of the correlations among the observations,in general,do not improve the resolution of the coordinate and wet delay estimates.

STING is an endoplasmic reticulum(ER)-resident protein critical for sensing cytoplasmic DNA and promoting the production of type Ⅰ interferons;however,the role of STING in B cell receptor(BCR)signaling remains *** generated STING V154M knock-in mice and showed that B cells carrying constitutively activated STING specifically degraded membrane-bound IgM,Ig a and Igβ via SEL1L/HRD1-mediated ER-associated degradation(ERAD).B cells with activated STING were thus less capable of responding to BCR activation by phosphorylating Igα and Syk than those without activated *** immunized with T-independent antigens,STING V154M mice produced significantly fewer antigen-specific plasma cells and antibodies than immunized wild-type(WT)*** further generated B cell-specific STING^(KO) mice and showed that STING^(KO) B cells indeed responded to activation by transducing stronger BCR signals than their STING-proficient *** B cell-specific STING^(KO) mice were T-independently immunized,they produced significantly more antigen-specific plasma cells and antibodies than immunized STIN^(WT)*** both human and m ouse IGHV-unmutated malignant chronic lymphocytic leukemia(CLL)cells downregulated the expression of STING,we explored whether STING downregulation could contribute to the well-established robust BCR signaling phenotype in malignant CLL *** generated a STING-deficient CLL mouse model and showed that STING-deficient CLL cells were indeed more responsive to BCR activation than their STING-proficient *** results revealed a novel B cell-intrinsic role of STING in negatively regulating BCR signaling in both normal and malignant B cells.

Abstract A compact frequency notched microstrip slot antenna for ultra-wideband （UWB）/2.4 GHz-band wireless local area network（WLAN） applications is proposed. The antenna is similar to a conventional microstrip slot antenna; however, by introducing a cross wide slot and a meandered-slotted stub, both compact size and frequency notched function can be achieved. It has been studied both numerically and experimentally for its impedance bandwidth, surface current distribution, radiation patterns, and gain. As will be seen, an operation bandwidth of over 4.6：1 ranging fi＇om 2.39 to 11.25 GHz for return loss lower than -10 dB having a frequency notched band ranging from 4.75 to 5.85 GHz has been achieved, and good radiation performance over the entire frequency range has also been achieved.

Optical solitons—stable waves balancing delicately between nonlinearities and dispersive effects—have advanced the field of ultrafast optics and dynamics,with contributions spanning from supercontinuum generation to soliton fission,optical event horizons,Hawking radiation and optical rogue waves,among ***,we investigate picojoule soliton dynamics in silicon slow-light,photonic-bandgap waveguides under the influence of Drude-modeled,free-carrier-induced nonlinear *** real-time and single-shot amplified dispersive Fourier transform spectroscopy simultaneously with high-fidelity cross-correlation frequency resolved optical gating at femtojoule sensitivity and femtosecond resolution,we examine the soliton stability limits,the soliton dynamics including free-carrier quartic slow-light scaling and acceleration,and the Drude electron–hole plasma-induced perturbations in the Cherenkov radiation and modulation *** real-time single-shot and time-averaged cross-correlation measurements are matched with our detailed theoretical modeling,examining the reduced group velocity free-carrier kinetics on solitons at the picojoule scale.

AIM Capsaicin, a pungent ingredient found in red pepper, has long been used in spices, food additives, and drugs. Cell death induced by the binding of capsaidn was examined in a human gastric adenocarcinoma cell line （AGS cells）. METHODS： By using XTT-based cytotoxicity assay, flow cytometry using the TUNEL method, and quantitation of DNA fragmentation, both cell death and DNA fragmentaUon were detected in AGS cells treated with capsaicin. By using Western blotting methods, capsaicin reduced the expression of Bcl-2, the antiapoptotic protein, in AGS cells in a concentration-dependent manner. RESULTS- After incubation of AGS cells with capsaicin for 24 h, cell viability decreased significantly in a dose-dependent manner. After incubation of AGS cells with capsaicin for 24 h, apoptotic bodies also significantly increased, and were again correlated with the dose of capsaicin. When the concentration of capsaicin was 1 mmol/L, the amount of DNA fragments also increased. Similar results were also in the lower traces. CONCLUSION： These results suggest that capsaicin- induced cell death might be via a Bcl-2 sensitive apoptotic pathway. Therefore, capsaicin might induce protection from gastric cancer.
