Trueness investigation of routine creatinine assays on nine homogeneous systems in Beijing demonstrates an encouraging outcome that meets clinical requirements

Background Serum creatinine （Scr） measurement plays a key role in glomerular filtration rate estimation （eGFR）,chronic kidney disease （CKD） diagnosis as well as CKD treatment. However, the test results of Scr from different laboratories vary significantly. In order to get comparable results, the European in vitro diagnostic （IVD） directive requires traceability to reference methods and materials. The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of traceability implementation by investigating the trueness of creatinine measurement on nine homogenous systems in Beijing. Methods Commutable frozen human serum reference material, National Institute of Standards ＆ Technology （NIST） Standard Reference Material （SRM） 967, was used to verify the trueness of Scr measurement results from nine homogeneous analytical systems of seven companies which are the most widely used systems in Beijing＇s third-grade hospitals. The methods referred to the Jaffe＇s and Enzymatic methods. Results from nine routine measurement systems were assessed using two criteria： biological variability and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments＇ 88 （CLIA＇ 88）.We simulated a series of broken lines representing the limits of SD and bias that would produce a relative increase （or decrease） of 10% and 20% in the measurement error when estimating GFR （MEeGFR） using the isotope dilution mass spectrometry （IDMS）-traceable Modification of Diet in Renal Disease （MDRD） Study equation. Results of the College of American Pathologists （CAP） 2008-B LN24 Survey were compared with our investigation results. Results Compared with the total error criteria of biological variability, Ortho （traceable to IDMS） met the minimum acceptable criteria; Roche （Jaffe）, Roche （Enzymatic）, Shino and Daiichi met the desirable criteria at level Ⅰ. Exploring a new path of green and efficient utilization of sinter return fine to produce composite pellets

Efficient utilization of sinter return fine is an important measure to reduce cost,increase efficiency,save energy and reduce emission.A new path of green and efficient utilization of return fine was proposed to produce composite *** metallurgical properties of composite pellets under the condition of hydrogen-rich blast furnace were *** experimental results indicate that the coated concentrate was consolidated for the composite pellets through normal Fe_(2)O_(3) *** the surface of core return fine,the liquid phase formed due to its low-melting point,assimilated the adjacent concentrate,and then consolidated with the temperature *** with regular pellets,the com-pressive strength and reduction swelling index of composite pellets were decreased,but the reducibility index and softening-melting properties were *** addition,the reduction degradation index of composite pellets was sig-nificantly higher than that of ***,adding composite pellets was conducive to indirect reduction in blast furnace,reducing fuel ratio and improving production *** to the effect of the roasting system on the metallurgical properties,the roasting temperature and time were determined as 1250℃and 30 min,*** composite pellets can be produced under the traditional pelletizing process.

Graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets mitigate cadmium toxicity in Glycine max *** promoting cadmium retention in root and improving photosynthetic performance

Cadmium(Cd)pollution poses a serious threat to plant growth and *** have shown great application potential for alleviation of Cd toxicity to *** this study,we applied graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets(g-C_(3)N_(4)NSs)for alleviation of Cd-toxicity to soybean(Glycine max L.).The g-C_(3)N_(4)NSs supplementation significantly improved plant growth and reduced oxidative damage in the Cd-toxicated soybean seedlings through hydroponic ***,the g-C_(3)N_(4)NSs dynamically regulated the root cell wall(RCW)components by increasing pectin content and modifying its demethylation via enhancing pectin methylesterase(PME)activity,therefore greatly enhanced stronger RCW-Cd retention(up to 82.8%)and reduced Cd migration to the ***,the g-C_(3)N_(4)NSs reversed the Cd-induced chlorosis,increased photosynthetic efficiency because of enhancement in F_v/F_mration,Y(Ⅱ)and sugars *** results provide new insights into the alleviation of Cd toxicity to plants by g-C_(3)N_(4)NSs,and shed light on the application of low-cost and environmental-friendly carbon-based NMs for alleviating heavy metal toxicity to plants.

In[20],a semi-implicit spectral deferred correction(SDC)method was proposed,which is efficient for highly nonlinear partial differential equations(PDEs).The semi-implicit SDC method in[20]is based on first-order time integration methods,which are corrected iteratively,with the order of accuracy increased by one for each additional *** this paper,we will develop a class of semi-implicit SDC methods,which are based on second-order time integration methods and the order of accuracy are increased by two for each additional *** spatial discretization,we employ the local discontinuous Galerkin(LDG)method to arrive at fully-discrete schemes,which are high-order accurate in both space and *** experiments are presented to demonstrate the accuracy,efficiency and robustness of the proposed semi-implicit SDC methods for solving complex nonlinear PDEs.

Revealing the role of honokiol in human glioma cells by RNA-seq analysis

Background:Glioma is a kind of tumor that easily deteriorates and originates from glial cells in nerve *** is a bisphenol compound that is an essential monomeric compound extracted from the roots and bark of Magnoliaceae *** also has anti-infection,antitumor,and immunomodulatory *** this study,we found that honokiol induces cell apoptosis in the human glioma cell lines U87-MG and ***,the mechanism through which honokiol regulates glioma cell apoptosis is still ***:We performed RNA-seq analysis of U251-MG cells treated with honokiol and control ***-protein interaction(PPI)network analysis was performed,and the 10 top hub unigenes were examined via real-time quantitative ***,MAPK signaling and ferroptosis were detected via western ***:332 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were found,comprising 163 increased and 169 decreased *** of the DEGs revealed that various biological processes were enriched,including‘response to hypoxia’,‘cerebellum development cellular response to hypoxia,’‘iron ion binding,’‘oxygen transporter activity,’‘oxygen binding,’‘ferric iron binding,’and‘structural constituent of cytoskeleton.’Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analysis revealed that the DEGs were enriched in the following pathways:‘mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPK)’,‘Hypoxia-inducible factor 1(HIF-1)’,‘ferroptosis,’‘Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR),’‘Phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase(PI3K)-protein kinase B(Akt),’and‘phagosome.’Among these pathways,the MAPK signaling pathway and ferroptosis were veriﬁ***:This study revealed the potential mechanism by which honokiol induces apoptosis and provided a comprehensive analysis of DEGs in honokiol-treated U251-MG cells and the associated signaling *** data could lead to new ideas for future research and therapy for patients with glioma.

Removal of rubidium from brine by an integrated film of sulfonated polysulfone/graphene/potassium copper ferricyanide

A novel integrated film of sulfonated polysulfone/graphene/potassium copper ferricyanide(KCuFC/SPSG)was used for selectively extracting rubidium ion(Rb^(+))from *** form KCuFC/SPSG,the precursor film of sulfonated polysulfone/graphene(SPSG)was synthesized by phase conversion process,which was alternately immersed in 0.1 mol·L^(-1)CuSO_(4)/K_(4)[Fe(CN)_(6)]by in-situ adsorption coupled co-precipitation *** data such as nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer,Fourier transform infrared spectroscope,X-ray photoelectron spectroscope,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscope,and energy dispersive spectroscopy all verified that abundant KCuFC were uniformly located on the *** resulting KCuFC/SPSG was used in film separation *** the solution was fed into the system,the Rb^(+)could be selectively adsorption by KCuFC/*** the saturation adsorption,0.5 mol·L^(-1)NH_(4)Cl/HCl was fed into the film cell,Rb^(+)could be quickly desorbed by ion-exchange between Rb^(+)and NH_(4)^(+)in the lattice of *** purpose of separating and recovering Rb^(+)from the brine can be achieved after the repeated *** effects of pH,adsorption time,and interferential ions on the adsorption capacity of Rb^(+)were investigated by batch *** adsorption behavior fits the pseudo-second order kinetic process,while KCuFC has a higher adsorption capacity(Langmuir maximum sorption 165.4 mg·g^(-1)).In addition,KCuFC/SPSG shows excellent selectivity for Rb^(+)even in complex brine ***/SPSG could maintain 93.5%extraction efficiency after five adsorption/desorption cycles.

High-temperature carbonized metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)derivatives have demonstrated their superiority for promising electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbers,but they still suffer from limited EMW absorption capacity and narrow *** the advantage of microstructure and chemical composition regulation for the design of EMW absorber,hierarchical heterostructured MoS_(2)/CoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)@cabonized cotton fabric(CF)(MCC@CCF)is prepared by growing ZIF-67 MOFs onto CF surface,chemical etching,and *** from the dual loss mechanism of magnetic-dielectric multicomponent carbonized MOFs,chemical etching and carbonization process can effectively introduce abundant micro-gap structure that can result in better impedance matching and stronger absorption capacity via internal reflection,doped heteroatoms(Mo,N,S)to supply additional dipolar polarization loss,and numerous heterointerfaces among MoS_(2),CoS_(2),Co_(3)O_(4),and CCF that produce promoted conduction loss and interfacial polarization ***,a minimal reflection loss of−52.87 dB and a broadest effective absorption bandwidth of 6.88 GHz were achieved via tunning the sample thickness and filler loading,showing excellent EMW absorption *** research is of great value for guiding the research on MOFs derivatives based EMW absorbing materials.

Enhanced corrosion resistance of epoxy resin coating via addition of CeO_(2) and benzotriazole

The use of fillers to enhance the corrosion protection of epoxy resins has been widely *** this work,cerium dioxide(CeO_(2))and benzotriazole(BTA)were introduced into an epoxy resin to enhance the corrosion resistance of Q235 carbon *** electron microscopy results indicated that the CeO_(2) grains were rod-like and ellipsoidal in shape,and the distribution pattern of BTA was analyzed by energy dispersive *** dynamic potential polarization curve proved the excellent corrosion resistance of the composite epoxy resin with CeO_(2) and BTA co-addition,and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy test analysis indicated the significantly enhanced long-term corrosion protection performance of the composite *** the optimal protective performance was provided by the coating containing 0.3%(mass)CeO_(2) and 20%(mass)BTA,which was attributed to the barrier performance of CeO_(2) particles and the chemical barrier effect of *** formation of corrosion products was analyzed using X-ray *** addition,the corrosion resistance mechanism of the coating was also discussed in detail.

Effect of Al_(2)O_(3)fiber on twin intersections-induced dynamic recrystallization in fine-grained TiAl matrix composite

Dynamic recrystallization(DRX)is of great significance for the thermomechanical processing and microstructural regulation of TiAl ***,the underlying DRX mechanism remains poorly *** this study,an Avrami kinetics model for DRX was established,which was capable of predicting the DRX fraction *** addition,the effect of Al_(2)O_(3)short fiber on the DRX mechanisms of TiAl matrix composite during the isothermal compression was investigated for the first *** re-sults showed that other than inhibiting DRX by particles in the TiAl matrix composites,the addition of Al_(2)O_(3)short fiber accelerated a novel DRX process,which was induced by twinning and twin intersec-tions(TDRX).Thus,this composite exhibited a higher DRX rate than that of the as-cast TiAl monolithic *** origin of the twin intersection and TDRX for the composite was *** stress concentration near the Al_(2)O_(3)fiber was above the critical shear stress for twinning and thus was favorable for the formation of twinning and twin *** high stored strain energy at the regions of twins and twin intersections provided the driving force for *** accelerated the grain refinement in the TiAl matrix near the Al_(2)O_(3)*** present findings would provide a new perspective on DRX mechanisms,and provide the scientific guidance for optimizing the microstructures of TiAl matrix composites.
