Physical and chemical processes observed in the mesosphere and thermosphere above the Earth’s low latitudes are complex and highly interrelated to activity in the low-latitude *** sodium detected by lidar can yield clues to dynamic and chemical processes in these spatial layers above the Earth’s *** paper is based on sodium layer data collected at two low-latitude stations,one in the northern hemisphere and one in the *** low-latitude sodium layer exhibits conspicuous seasonal variations in shape,density,and altitude;these variations are similar between Earth’s hemispheres:sodium layer density at both stations reaches its seasonal maximum in autumn and minimum in ***,maximal Na density over Brazil is greater than that over *** variations of Na density above the two low-latitude stations are also similar;at both,maxima are observed before *** variations of the Na layer over Brazil that differ from those observed in the northern hemisphere may be related to the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly(SAMA)or fountain *** suggest that low-latitude Na layer data may provide useful additional evidence that could significantly improve the low-latitude part of the WACCM-Na model.

Background: De novo lipogenesis (DNL) is a critical event for the development of tumors, in the present work,we revealed the role of propofol in colorectal cancer (CRC) cell proliferation. Methods: Western blotting (WB), Real-timePCR, and luciferase combined with chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) were used to identify the mechanismunderlying propofol-modulated cell proliferation in CRC cells. Results: Herein, we showed that propofol suppressedcell proliferation, which was attributed to the inhibition of DNL characterized by reduced fatty acid synthase (FASN),acetyl-coA carboxylase alpha (ACCA), and stearoyl-coA desaturase-1 (SCD1) expression. Mechanically, propofolstimulation decreased sterol regulatory element-binding proteins-1c (SREBP-1c) mature and nuclear translocation,which further decreased SCD1 transactivation confirmed by luciferase and ChIP analysis, while no significantdifference in total SREBP1c was observed. What’s more, supplementation of Monounsaturated fatty acid (MuFA)could reverse the inhibitory effect of propofol on cell proliferation. Conclusion: Taken together, these resultssuggested propofol modulated cell proliferation is dependent on SREBP1c-mediated DNL.

Tea(Camellia sinensis)is a well-known beverage crop rich in polyphenols with health benefits for *** how tea polyphenols participate in plant resistance is beneficial to breeding resistant varieties and uncovering the resistance ***,we report that a Colletotrichum infection-induced‘pink ring’symptom appeared outside the lesion,which is highly likely to occur in resistant *** identifying morphological feature-specific metabolites in the pink ring and their association with disease resistance,and analysis of the association between metabolite and gene expression,the study revealed that the accumulation of anthocyanin-3-O-galactosides,red phytotoxin compounds resistant to anthracnose,plays a pivotal role in the hypersensitive response surrounding infection sites in tea *** results of genetic manipulation showed that the expression of CsF3Ha,CsANSa,CsUGT78A15,CsUGT75L43,and CsMYB113,which are involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis,is positively correlated with anthracnose-resistance and the formation of the pink *** phosphorus quantification and fertilization experiments confirmed that phosphate deficiency caused by anthracnose is involved in the occurrence of the pink *** manipulation studies indicated that altering the expression levels of Pi transporter proteins(CsPHT2-1,CsPHT4;4)and phosphate deprivation response transcription factors(CsWRKY75-1,CsWRKY75-2,CsMYB62-1)enhances resistance to anthracnose and the formation of the pink ring symptom in tea *** article provides the first evidence that anthocyanin-3-O-galactosides are the anthracnose-resistant phytoalexins among various polyphenols in tea plants,and this presents an approach for identifying resistance genes in tea plants,where genetic transformation is challenging.

Sunway supercomputer architecture towards exascale computing: analysis and practice

In recent years, the improvements of system performance and energy efficiency for supercomputers have faced increasing challenges, which create more intensive demands on the architecture design for realizing exascale computing. This paper first analyzes the main requirements of exascale computing on the aspects of the parallel computing application and supercomputing center operation. Afterwards, a mapping scheme of "demands-challenges-architecture" is proposed. Then, the major challenges of exascale supercomputer, such as scalability, power consumption, data movement, programming and availability, are thoroughly analyzed, and the corresponding appropriate solutions are proposed. Moreover, this paper proposes the Sunway computer architecture towards exascale computing in which the many-core processor, network chipset and software system are all domestically-designed. The technology roadmap of Sunway supercomputer will hold the comprehensive design methods for the architecture, including the processor, interconnect network,assembly structure, power supply, cooling system, system software, parallel algorithm and application support, promising great advances for exascale supercomputing.

Based on the Chinese Meridian Project(CMP),the International Meridian Circle Program(IMCP)aims to coordinate the deployment of a comprehensive ground-based monitoring network along the 120°E-60°W Great Meridian Circle to track the propagation and evolution of space weather events from the Sun to the Earth,as well as the imprints of other major natural and anthropic hazards on the ionosphere,the middle and upper ***,we have completed the IMCP headquarters building in Beijing and established the China-Brazil Joint Laboratory for Space Weather in cooperation with ***,the Chinese Meridian Project PhaseⅡand different components of the IMCP observation system are under construction.

OBJECTIVE: To study changes in the nuclear factor-κB p65(NF-κB p65)-inducible nitric oxide synthase(i NOS)-nitric oxide(NO) signaling pathway and the effects of Xinfeng capsules(XFC) in patients with ankylosing spondylitis(AS)METHODS: One hundred twenty patients with AS were randomly divided into an XFC group and a Salazopyrin group. Sixty health subjects were included as a normal control group. In the two treatment groups, pulmonary functional parameters,forced vital capacity(FVC), forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV1), maximal voluntary ventilation(MVV), peak expiratory flow(PEF), forced expiratory flow at 25% of forced vital capacity(FEF25),forced expiratory flow at 50% of forced vital capacity(FEF50), and forced expiratory flow at 75% of forced vital capacity(FEF75) were determined. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assays were used for detection of the serum oxidative stress indexes,NF-κB p65, i NOS, NO, reactive oxygen species(ROS), reactive nitrogen species(RNS), malondialdehyde(MDA), superoxide dismutase(SOD), catalase(CAT), total antioxidative capacity(TAOC) and interleukin-4(IL-4), IL-10, IL-1β, and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) contents. Westergren's method was used for determination of erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR). High-sensitivity C-reactive protein(Hs-CRP) was detected with a 7060 full-automatic biochemical analyzer(Hitachi, Japan).RESULTS: The clinical therapeutic effect in the XFC group was significantly superior to that in the Salazopyrin group(P<0.01). Compared with the normal control group, FEV1, MVV, PEF, FEF50, FEF75, SOD, CAT,TAOC, IL-4, IL-10 were significantly lower, and NF-κB p65, i NOS, NO, ROS, RNS, MDA, IL-1β, TNF-α, ESR,and Hs-CRP significantly higher in patients with AS(P<0.01 or P<0.05). Compared with before treatment, FEV1, MVV, PEF, FEF50, FEF75, SOD, CAT, TAOC,IL-4, and IL-10 were significantly increased, and NF-κB p65, i NOS, NO, ROS, RNS, MDA, IL-1β, TNF-α,ESR, CRP, visual analog scales(VAS), Bath ankylosing spondylitis dis

Efficient functioning of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER) is very important for most cellular activities, such as protein folding and modification. The ER closely interacts with other organelles, including the Golgi body, endosome, membrane, and mitochondria, providing lipids and proteins for the repair of these organelles. ER stress can be induced by various abnormal materials in the cell. ER stress is a compensatory intracellular environment disorder that occurs during areaction. ER can sense the stress and respond to it through translational attenuation, upregulation of the genes for ER chaperones and related proteins, and degradation of unfolded proteins by a quality-control system, but excessive ER activation can cause cell death. The Pubmed and Web of Science databases were searched for full-text articles, and the terms "endoplasmic reticulum stress/unfolded protein response/gynecologic tumor cell apoptosis" were used as key words. Thirty-five studies of ER stress and unfolded protein response published from 2000 to 2016 were analyzed. Stress triggers apoptosis through a variety of signaling pathways. Increasing evidence has shown that the ER plays an important role in tumor cell diseases. The present review discusses the molecular mechanisms underlying unfolded protein response and its ability to promote survival and proliferation in gynecologic tumor cells.

In 2024,the Chinese Meridian Project(CMP)completed its construction,deploying 282 instruments across 31 *** achievement not only provides a robust foundation but also serves as a reference template for the International Meridian Circle Program(IMCP).The IMCP aims to integrate and establish a comprehensive network of ground-based monitoring stations designed to track the propagation of space weather events from the Sun to ***,it monitors various disturbances generated within the Earth system that impact *** the past two years,significant progress has been made on the *** particular,the second phase of construction for the China-Brazil Joint Laboratory for Space Weather has been completed,and the North Pole and Southeast Asia networks are under active *** 2024 IMCP joint observation campaign was successfully *** facilitate these developments,the scientific program committee of IMCP was established,following the success of 2023 IMCP workshop and the space weather school,which was co-hosted with the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization(APSCO)and sponsored by Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)and Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics(SCOSTEP).Preparations are now underway for the 2024 workshop in collaboration with the National Institute for Space Research(INPE)in Brazil.

The gap between finite element analysis and computer-aided design derives the development of isogeometric analysis(IGA),which uses the same representation in the geometry and the ***,the parameterization in IGA is *** extended B-splines(WEB)method replaces grid generation and parameterization with weight function construction(R-function or distance function).By using implicit spline representation,isogeometric analysis on implicit domains(IGAID)adopts the merits of the“isoparametric”in IGA and“weight function generation”in *** the theoretical properties have not been fully studied *** this paper,we study the theoretical aspects of IGAID using tensor-product *** the approximation and stability properties of IGAID are *** setting appropriate constraints on the weight function,we can derive the optimal approximation order and *** examples show the effectiveness of the approach and validate the theoretical results.
