Characterization of the petiole length in soybean compact architecture mutant M657 and the breeding of new lines

Phenotypic screening of soybean germplasm suitable for high planting density is currently the most viable strategy to increase yield. Previous studies have shown that soybean varieties with dwarf features and a short petiole often exhibit a compact plant architecture which could improve yield through increased planting density, although previously reported short petiole accessions were ultimately not usable for breeding in practice. Here, we established a method to assess petiole length and identified an elite mutant line, M657, that exhibits high photosynthetic efficiency. The agronomic traits of M657 were evaluated under field conditions, and appeared to be stable for short petiole across seven locations in northern, Huang–Huai, and southern China from 2017 to 2018. Compared with the Jihuang 13 wild type, the mutant M657 was shorter in both petiole length and plant height, exhibited lower total area of leaf, seed weight per plant and 100-seed weight, but had an increased number of effective branches and the growth period was prolonged by 2–7 days. Using M657 as a parental line for crosses with four other elite lines, we obtained four lines with desirable plant architecture and yield traits, thus demonstrating the feasibility of adopting M657 in breeding programs for soybean cultivars of high density and high yield.

Reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the new fear of hypoglycemia scale: FH-15

Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Fear of Hypoglycemia scale with 15 items(FH-15).Methods:After obtaining the original author's authorization,the English version of the FH-15 scale was translated,back translated,and culturally debugged to obtain the Chinese version of FH-15.A convenient sampling method was used to extract patients with type 2 diabetes from four tertiary hospitals in Tianjin.A total of 408 patients with type 2 diabetes were investigated in the hospital to test the reliability and validity of Chinese version FH-15 ***:The content validity index of the scale was 0.92,and the content validity index of each item was *** exploratory factor analysis extracted three common factors(fear,avoidance,and interference),which contained 15 items,and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 71.245%.The confirmatory factor analysis results showed that the model fit was better at 1.981 x2/df,GFI=0.901,CGI=0.962,TLI=0.952,and RMSEA=*** cut-off value for the total hypoglycemia fear scale was *** Cronbach'sαcoefficient of the three dimensions of the scale was 0.918,the Cronbach'sαcoefficient of each dimension is 0.876-0.916,the test-retest reliability was 0.903,and the test-retest reliability of each factor was ***:The Chinese version of the FH-15 scale can be considered reliable and *** item expression is concise,clear,and easy to *** is suitable for clinical practice as an initial screening tool to identify and evaluate the severity of fear of hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes.

消偏器在实现低偏度(DOP)喇曼泵浦源、解决喇曼放大器(FRA)偏振相关增益(DOG)问题中有重要的作用。根据Febry-Perot(FP)激光器输出光谱的特点,从频域的角度分析用于多纵模激光器的晶体型消偏器的性能。仿真计算表明:1)消偏器的性能与光谱的半峰全宽(FWHM)有关;2)每个纵模谱宽的变化不影响消偏性能。由此得出最优晶体厚度与纵模间距及光谱的包络有关。提出了在满足DOP为5%的情况下,最优晶体厚度的估算方法。对于一般的FP光源进行消偏,晶体厚度可以节省1/3。

During a survey of freshwater fungi in Guizhou Province, China, a fresh collection from submerged decaying twig from Baihua Lake was identified as a new species based on morphological characters and phylogenetic analyses of combined LSU, SSU, ITS, TEF1α and RPB2 sequence data. Phylogenetic analyses support its placement in Sordariomycetes. The new species, Sporidesmium guizhouense, is introduced with an illustrated account and notes on its taxonomy and phylogeny.

Over-expressed Genes Detected by Suppression Subtractive Hybridization in Carcinoma Derived From Transformed 16HBE Cells Induced by BPDE

To screen the over differentially expressed genes in carcinoma induced by BPDE-transformed 16HBE cells （16HBE-C cells）. Methods The suppression subtractive hybridization （SSH） method was performed to profile differentially expressed genes between 16HBE-C cells and 16HBE cells. The cDNA fragments of differentially expressed genes were inserted into TA cloning vector and transformed competent E. coli strain. Positive clones were randomly picked up and identified by the colony PCR method. Dot blot was used to test the same source with the tester. The differentially expressed cDNA fragments were sequenced and compared with known genes and EST database in Genbank. Results Eight known genes were over-expressed in 16HBE-C cells including eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha 1, HIF-1 responsive RTP801, ribosomal protein L10 （RPL10）, ribosomal protein S29 （RPS29）, mitochondrion related genes, and laminin receptor 1. Three differentially expressed cDNA fragments could not be matched to the known genes but to the EST database. Conclusion The SSH method can detect differentially expressed genes between 16HBE-C and 16HBE cells. BPDE-induced carcinogenesis may be related to alteration of at least eight known genes and three unknown genes. These expression data provide a clue to further cloning novel genes and studying functions in BPDE-induced carcinoma.

Neuroprotection against vascular dementia after acupuncture combined with donepezil hydrochloride：P300 event related potential

Acupuncture can be used to treat various nervous system ***,168 vascular dementia patients were orally administered donepezil hydrochloride alone（5 mg/day,once a day for 56 days）,or combined with acupuncture at Shenting（DU24）,Tianzhu（BL10）,Sishencong（Extra）,Yintang（Extra）,Renzhong（DU26）,Neiguan（PC6）,Shenmen（HT7）,Fengchi（GB20）,Wangu（GB12） and Baihui（DU20）（once a day for 56 days）.Compared with donepezil hydrochloride alone,P300 event related potential latency was shorter with an increased amplitude in patients treated with donepezil hydrochloride and ***-Mental State Examination score was also ***,these differences in P300 latency were identified within different infarcted regions in patients treated with donepezil hydrochloride and *** findings indicate that acupuncture combined with donepezil hydrochloride noticeably improves cognitive function in patients with vascular dementia,and exerts neuroprotective effects against vascular dementia.
