In this study,interconnected porous Mg-2Zn-xY alloys w.th different phase compositions w.re prepared by various Y additions(x=0.4,3,and 6 w..%)to adj.st the compressive properties and energy absorption *** characterization methods w.re then applied to identify the microstructure of the porous Mg-Zn-Y and describe the details of the second *** tests w.re performed at room temperature(RT),200℃,and 300℃to study the impact of the Y addition and testing temperature on the compressive properties of the porous *** experimental results show.d that a high Y content promotes a microstructure refinement and increases the volume fraction of the second *** the Y content increases,different Mg-Zn-Y ternary phases appear:I-phase(Mg_(3)Zn_(6)Y),w.phase(Mg_(3)Zn_(3)Y_(2)),and LPSO phase(Mg_(12)ZnY).w.en the Y content ranges betw.en 0.4%and 6%,the compressive strength increases from 6.30MPa to 9.23 MPa,and the energy absorption capacity increases from 7.33 Mj.m^(3)to 10.97 Mj.m^(3)at RT,w.ich is mainly attributed to the phase composition and volume fraction of the second ***,the average energy absorption efficiency is independent of the Y *** addition,the compressive deformation behaviors of the porous Mg-Zn-Y are altered by the testing *** compressive strength and energy absorption capacity of the porous Mg-Zn-Y decrease due to the softening effect of the high temperature on the *** deformation behaviors at different temperatures are finally observed to reflect the failure mechanisms of the struts.

The superplastic behavior and associated deformation mechanisms of a fine-grained Mg-10.1 Li-0.8Al-0.6Zn alloy(LAZ1011)w.th a grain size of 3.2μm,primarily composed of the BCCβphase and a small amount of the HCPαphase,w.re examined in a temperature range of 473 K to 623 *** microstructural refinement of this alloy w.s achieved by employing high-ratio differential speed *** best superplasticity w.s achieved at 523 K and at strain rates of 10^(-4)-5×10^(-4)s^(-1),w.ere tensile elongations of 550±600%w.re *** the heating and holding stage of the tensile samples prior to tensile loading,a significant increase in grain size w.s observed at temperatures above 573 ***,it w.s important to consider this effect w.en analyzing and understanding the superplastic deformation behavior and *** the investigated strain rate range,the superplastic flow.at low.strain rates w.s governed by lattice diffusion-controlled grain boundary sliding,w.ile at high strain rates,lattice diffusion-controlled dislocation climb creep w.s the rate-controlling deformation *** w.s concluded that solute drag creep is unlikely to *** the late stages of deformation at 523 K,it w.s observed that grain boundary sliding led to the agglomeration of theαphase,resulting in significant strain *** mechanism maps w.re constructed forβ-Mg-Li alloys in the form of 2D and 3D formats as a function of strain rate,stress,temperature,and grain size,using the constitutive equations for various deformation mechanisms derived based on the data of the current tests.

Using dislocation-based constitutive modeling in three-dimension crystal plasticity finite element(3D CPFE)simulations,co-deformation and instability of hetero-phase interface in different material systems w.re herein studied for polycrystalline metal matrix composites(MMCs).Local stress and strain fields in tw. types of 3layer MMCs such as fcc/fcc Cu-Ag and fcc/bcc Cu-Nb have been predicted under simple compressive ***,more severe strain-induced interface instability can be observed in the fcc/bcc systems than in the fcc/fcc systems upon refining to metallic nanolayered composites(MNCs).By detailed analysis of stress and strain localization,it has been demonstrated that the interface instability is alw.ys accompanied by high-stress concentration,i.e.,thermodynamic characteristics,or high strain prevention i.e.,kinetic characteristics,at the hetero-phase *** then follow. that the thermodynamic driving forceG and the kinetic energy barrier Q during dislocation and shear banding can be adopted to classify the deformation modes,follow.ng the so-called thermo-kinetic *** by inserting a high density of high-energy interfaces into the Cu-Nb composites,such thermo-kinetic integration at the hetero-phase interface allow. a successful establishment of MMCs w.th the high△G-high Q deformation mode,w.ich ensures high hardening and uniform strain distri-bution,thus efficiently suppressing the shear band,stabilizing the hetero-phase interface,and obtaining an exceptional combination in strength and *** hetero-phase interface chosen by a couple of thermodynamics and kinetics can be defined as breaking the thermo-kinetic correlation and has been proposed for artificially designing MNCs.

Universal insertion of molecules in ionic compounds under pressure

Using first-principles calculations and crystal structure search methods, w. found that many covalently bonded molecules such as H2, N2, CO2, NH3, H2O and CH4may react w.th NaC l, a prototype ionic solid,and form stable compounds under pressure w.ile retaining their molecular structure. These molecules,despite w.ether they are homonuclear or heteronuclear, polar or non-polar, small or large, do not show.strong chemical interactions w.th surrounding Na and Cl ions. In contrast, the most stable molecule among all examples, N2, is found to transform into cyclo-N5-anions w.ile reacting w.th NaC l under high pressures. It provides a new.route to synthesize pentazolates, w.ich are promising green energy materials w.th high energy density. Our w.rk demonstrates a unique and universal hybridization propensity of covalently bonded molecules and solid compounds under pressure. This surprising miscibility suggests possible mixing regions betw.en the molecular and rock layers in the interiors of large planets.

Our previous study has revealed that procyanidin A_(1)(A_(1))and its simulated digestive product(D-A,)can alleviate acrylamide(ACR)-induced intestine cell ***,the underlying mechanism remains *** this study,w. elucidated the molecular mechanism for and D-A_(1) to alleviate ACR-stimulated IPEC-j. cell *** slightly activated nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)signaling and its target genes,but this activation could not reduce intestine cell damage.A_(1) and D-A_(1) could alleviate ACR-induced cell damage,but the effect w.s abrogated in cells transiently transfected w.th Nrf2 small interfering RNA(siRNA).Further investigation confirmed that A_(1) and D-A_(1) interacted w.th Ketch-like ECH-associated protein 1(Keapl),w.ich boosted the stabilization of Nrf2,subsequently promoted the translocation of Nrf2 into the nucleus,and further increased the expression of antioxidant proteins,thereby inhibiting glutathione(GSH)consumption,maintaining redox balance and eventually alleviating ACR-induced cell ***,there w.s no difference betw.en A_(1) and D-A_(1) treated groups,indicating that A_(1) can tolerate gastrointestinal digestion and may be a potential compound to limit the toxicity of ACR.

In this study,samples w.re taken from three locations,upstream to dow.stream,along the central route proj.ct of the China South to North w.ter Diversion(SNw.)scheme in summer and *** w.re used to reveal the variations of dissolved organic matter(DOM)during the w.ter transfer process,and the effects of these variations on drinking w.ter treatment and disinfection by-products formation potential(DBPs-FP).The results show.d that polysaccharides accumulate in summer and reduce in w.nter w.th flow.distance,w.ich has an important effect on the overall properties of DOM,as w.ll as on the performance of coagulation,ultrafiltration,and the formation of *** substances,and their hydrophilic content,also increased in summer and decreased in w.nter w.th flow.*** contrast,the concentration of small organic substances(Mw.1000 Da)increased in both summer and w.nter w.th flow.distance,w.ich affected both nanofiltration(NF)membrane fouling and *** results provide a useful case study of spatial and temporal changes in raw.w.ter DOM during long distance w.ter transfer and their impact on the treatment and quality of drinking w.ter from the SNw..

Extracellular vesicles(EVs)are membranous vesicular structures released from almost all eukaryotic cell types under different physiological or pathological *** evidence demonstrates that EVs can serve as mediators of intercellular communication betw.en donor and recipient cells or microorganism-infected and noninfected *** disease 2019(COVID-19)disease is caused by infection of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)of host cells in the respiratory system and various extra-pulmonary tissue/organs,resulting in complications of multiple organ *** the cell surface receptor,angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)mediates cellular entry of SARS-CoV-2 into the host cells in patients w.th *** studies have found that ACE2 can be released w.th EVs,w.ich have been show. to interfere w.th the entry of the virus into host cells and thus may be involved in COVID-19 *** addition,ACE2,neprilysin(NEP),and thimet oligopeptidase(TOP)are the key enzymes that regulate angiotensin metabolism by converting angiotensin II or angiotensin I to angiotensin 1-7,the latter of w.ich has protective effects in counterbalancing the harmful effects of angiotensin II in COVID-19 *** review.summarizes the recent research progress regarding EV-associated ACE2,NEP,and TOP and the perspectives of their potential involvement in the pathophysiology of COVID-19 disease.
