Prostate Specific Antigen Promoter-Driven Adenovirus-Mediated Expression of Both ODC and AdoMetDC Antisenses Inhibit Prostate Cancer Growth

A survey of ventilation strategies during cardiopulmonary resuscitation

BACKGROUND:Many controversies still exist regarding ventilator parameters during cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR).This study aimed to investigate the CPR ventilation strategies currently being used among physicians in Chinese tertiary ***:A survey was conducted among the cardiac arrest team physicians of 500 tertiary hospitals in China in August,*** data included physician and hospital information,and preferred ventilation strategy during ***:A total of 438(88%)hospitals completed the survey,including hospitals from all 31 Chinese mainland *** 41.1%of respondents chose delayed or no ventilation during CPR,with delayed ventilations all starting within 12 *** all the respondents who provided ventilation,83.0%chose to strictly follow the 30:2 strategy,while 17.0%chose ventilations concurrently with uninterrupted *** 38.3%respondents chose to intubate after initiating CPR,while 61.7%chose to intubate immediately when resuscitation *** bagvalve-mask ventilation,only 51.4%of respondents delivered a frequency of 10 breaths per *** terms of ventilator settings,the majority of respondents chose volume control(VC)mode(75.2%),tidal volume of 6–7 mL/kg(72.1%),PEEP of 0–5 cmH2O(69.9%),and an FiO2 of 100%(66.9%).However,62.0%of respondents had mistriggers after setting the ventilator,and 51.8%had high pressure ***:There is a great amount of variability in CPR ventilation strategies among cardiac arrest team physicians in Chinese tertiary *** are needed with specific recommendations on ventilation during CPR.

Damage of hippocampal neurons in rats with chronic alcoholism

Chronic alcoholism can damage the cytoskeleton and aggravate neurological deficits. However, the effect of chronic alcoholism on hippocampal neurons remains unclear. In this study, a model of chronic alcoholism was established in rats that were fed with 6% alcohol for 42 days. Endogenous hydrogen sulfide content and cystathionine-beta-synthase activity in the hippocampus of rats with chronic alcoholism were significantly increased, while F-actin expression was decreased. Hippocampal neurons in rats with chronic alcoholism appeared to have a fuzzy nuclear mem- brane, mitochondrial edema, and ruptured mitochondrial crista. These findings suggest that chronic alcoholism can cause learning and memory decline in rats, which may be associated with the hydrogen sulfide/cystathionine-beta-synthase system, mitochondrial damage and reduced expression of F-actin.

Synthesis and Characterization of Photosensitive Poly(imide sulfonates) for Fuel Cell Application

The novel sulfonated polyimide membranes were successfully synthesized by thermal imidization with monomers of 4,4＇-（hexafluoroisopropylidene）diphthalic anhydride （6FDA）, 4,4＇-diamino- diphenyl ether-2,2＇-disulfonic acid （SODA） and 3,3 ＇-diaminochalcone （3DAC）. Photosensitive chalcone moiety was introduced to the main chain of copolymers, and the photocrosslinking of resulting copolymer in aqueous electrolyte was attempted. A series of sulfonated copolyimide precursors containing chalcone functional groups in the main chain were prepared with different sulfonation degrees by controlling the molar ratio of SODA, 6FDA and 3DAC. The polymer membranes were prepared from these sulfonated aromatic precursors by solution casting and subsequent thermal imidization. The crosslinking with UV irradiation was attempted in the presence or absence of distilled water. The characterizations of the resulting membrane such as the ion-exchange capacity, water absorption and ionic conductivity were performed with respect to the copolymer compositions and the photocrosslinking conditions.

ZDHHC11 modulates innate immune response to DNA virus by mediating MITA–IRF3 association

Amperometric biosensor applied to the determination of high concentration lactate in serum and whole blood was *** biosensor was constructed by gold electrode modified with nanoplatinum *** oxidase (E.C.1.***.3.2) was immobilized at platinized activated gold electrode which was used for the determination of high concentration lactate at low potential (+0.2 V).The linear calibration graphs were obtained from 1 to 21 mmol·L~ (-1) lactate in serum and from 0.9 to 13.2 mmol.L~ (-1) lactate in whole *** correlation coefficients were 0.99 and 0.97,respectively at a steady-state response time of 50 s.

The thiol-porphyrins were prepared to investigate the effect of spacer length on the gold electrode. These measurements showed that as the length of the spacers increases, the SAMs tend to form highly ordered structures on the gold electrodes. In addition, the structures of the monoalyers vary depending on the even and odd number of the methylene spacers （n）.

The reaction order plays a crucial role in evaluating the response rate of ***,the conventional two-scale model typically assumes that the reaction order is constant as one,which can lead to significant deviations from *** address this issue,this study proposes a novel multi-order dynamic model for acid-rock reaction by combining rotating disk experimental data with theoretical *** numerical simulations,this model allows for the investigation of the impact of acidification conditions on different orders of reaction,thereby providing valuable insights for on-site *** analysis reveals that higher response orders require higher optimal acid liquid flow rates,and lower optimal H+diffusion coefficients,and demonstrate no significant correlation with acid ***,it is recommended to increase the displacement and use high-viscosity acid for reservoirs with high calcite content,while reducing the displacement and using low-viscosity acid for reservoirs with high dolomite content.

Ultrafine nano-scale Cu_(2)Sb alloy confined in three-dimensional porous carbon as an anode for sodium-ion and potassium-ion batteries

Ultrafine nano-scale Cu2Sb alloy confined in a three-dimensional porous carbon was synthesized using NaCl template-assisted vacuum freeze-drying followed by high-temperature sintering and was evaluated as an anode for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)and potassium-ion batteries(PIBs).The alloy exerts excellent cycling durability(the capacity can be maintained at 328.3 mA·h·g^(-1) after 100 cycles for SIBs and 260 mA·h·g^(-1) for PIBs)and rate capability(199 mA·h·g^(-1) at 5 A·g^(-1) for SIBs and 148 mA·h·g^(-1) at 5 A·g^(-1) for PIBs)because of the smooth electron transport path,fast Na/K ion diffusion rate,and restricted volume changes from the synergistic effect of three-dimensional porous carbon networks and the ultrafine bimetallic *** study provides an ingenious design route and a simple preparation method toward exploring a high-property electrode for K-ion and Na-ion batteries,and it also introduces broad application prospects for other electrochemical applications.

AtPRMT5 Regulates Shoot Regeneration through Mediating Histone H4R3 Dimethylation on KRPs and Pre-mRNA Splicing of RKP in Arabidopsis

Protein arginine methylation plays important roles in diverse biological processes, but its role in regulating shoot regeneration remains elusive. In this study, we characterized the function of the protein arginine methyltransferase AtPRMT5 during de novo shoot regeneration in Arabidopsis. AtPRMT5 encodes a type II protein arginine methyltransferase that methylates proteins, including histories and RNA splicing factors. The frequency of shoot regeneration and the number of shoots per callus were decreased in the atprmt5 mutant compared with those in the wild type. Chromatin immunoprecipitation analysis revealed that AtPRMT5 targets KIP-RELATED PROTEINs （KRPs）, which encode the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors that repress the cell cycle. During shoot regeneration, the KRP transcript level increased in the atprmt5 mutant, which resulted from reduced histone H4R3 methylation in the KRP promoter. Overexpression of KRP significantly reduced the frequency of shoot regeneration and shoot number per callus. Furthermore, abnormal pre-mRNA splicing in the gene RELATED TO KPC1 （RKP）, which encodes an ubiquitin E3 ligase, was detected in the atprmt5 mutant. RKP functions in regulating KRP protein degradation, and mutation in RKP inhibited shoot regeneration. Thus, AtPRMT5 regulated shoot regeneration through histone modification-mediated KRP transcription and RKP pre-mRNA splicing. Our findings provide new insights into the function of protein arginine methylation in de novo shoot regeneration.
