Off-Grid Compressed Channel Estimation with Parallel Interference Cancellation for Millimeter Wave Massive MIMO

Millimeter wave(mmWave)massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)plays an important role in the fifth-generation(5G)mobile communications and beyond wireless communication systems owing to its potential of high capacity.However,channel estimation has become very challenging due to the use of massive MIMO antenna array.Fortunately,the mmWave channel has strong sparsity in the spatial angle domain,and the compressed sensing technology can be used to convert the original channel matrix into the sparse matrix of discrete angle grid.Thus the high-dimensional channel matrix estimation is transformed into a sparse recovery problem with greatly reduced computational complexity.However,the path angle in the actual scene appears randomly and is unlikely to be completely located on the quantization angle grid,thus leading to the problem of power leakage.Moreover,multiple paths with the random distribution of angles will bring about serious interpath interference and further deteriorate the performance of channel estimation.To address these off-grid issues,we propose a parallel interference cancellation assisted multi-grid matching pursuit(PIC-MGMP)algorithm in this paper.The proposed algorithm consists of three stages,including coarse estimation,refined estimation,and inter-path cyclic iterative inter-ference cancellation.More specifically,the angular resolution can be improved by locally refining the grid to reduce power leakage,while the inter-path interference is eliminated by parallel interference cancellation(PIC),and the two together improve the estimation accuracy.Simulation results show that compared with the traditional orthogonal matching pursuit(OMP)algorithm,the normalized mean square error(NMSE)of the proposed algorithm decreases by over 14dB in the case of 2 paths.

A Cooperative MIMO Transmission Scheme for Cluster-based Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor network is becoming more and more popular in recent years, but energyconstrained characteristic of sensor nodes is one of the critical issues that we must consider in system design. In this paper, a cluster-based virtual VBLAST transmission scheme is proposed to achieve energy savings for energy-constrained wireless sensor networks. In the proposed scheme, instead of using cluster member as cooperative nodes, multiple cluster heads cooperate to form virtual antenna array so that V-BLAST based virtual MIMO transmission can be implemented. Based on the communication energy consumption model, a way to optimize the parameters for the scheme is given. In addition, detailed simulation is performed to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme for both densely and sparsely deployed sensor networks. Theoretical analysis and simulation results verify the energy efficiency of the proposed scheme.

Robust hybrid beamforming design for millimeter-wave massive MIMO systems

Hybrid analog-digital beamforming is recognized as a promising solution for a practical implementation of massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems based on millimeter-wave(mmWave) technology. In view of the overwhelming hardware cost and excessive power consumption and the imperfection of the channel state information(CSI), a robust hybrid beamforming design is proposed for the mmWave massive MIMO systems, where the robustness is defined with respect to imperfect knowledge or error of the CSI at the transmitter due to limited feedback and/or imperfect channel estimation. Assuming the errors of the CSI are bounded, the optimal hybrid beamforming design with robustness is formulated to a mean squared error(MSE) minimization problem. An iterative semidefinite programming(SDP) based algorithm is proposed to obtain the beamforming matrices. Simulation results show that the proposed robust design can provide more than 4 dB performance gain compared to that of non-robust design.

BGMM： A Body Gauss-Markov Based Mobility Model for Body Area Networks

Existing mobility models have limitations in their ability to simulate the movement of Wireless Body Area Network（WBAN） since body nodes do not exactly follow either classic mobility models or human contact distributions. In this paper, we propose a new mobility model called Body Gauss–Markov Mobility（BGMM） model,which is oriented specially to WBAN. First, we present the random Gauss-Markov mobility model as the most suitable theoretical basis for developing our new model, as its movement pattern can reveal real human body movements. Next, we examine the transfer of human movement states and derive a simplified mathematical Human Mobility Model（HMM）. We then construct the BGMM model by combining the RGMM and HMM models. Finally,we simulate the traces of the new mobility model. We use four direct metrics in our proposed mobility model to evaluate its performance. The simulation results show that the proposed BGMM model performs with respect to the direct mobility metrics and can effectively represent a general WBAN-nodes movement pattern.

毫米波通信技术能实现不同车辆间感知信息的高效传输,增强车辆的感知能力。提出了面向车联网增强应用中传感器扩展场景的毫米波感知通信时分集成系统,研究通信车辆之间的匹配问题和感知通信一体化系统中的时间资源分配问题,以雷达互信息率为性能评估指标,采用匈牙利算法和模拟退火算法进行求解。仿真实验结果表明,所提算法能有效扩展车辆的感知范围,并提高车联网的整体感知性能。

波束管理是毫米波通信的重要研究内容,5G NR(New Radio)协议中已完整设计了用户在初始接入和连接状态下与基站确定最佳通信波束的流程,然而B5G(Beyond Fifth Generation)场景将使用52.6 GHz以上甚至更高的通信频率,需要更大规模的天线单元对抗路损,导致波束管理在初始接入过程中的信令开销和时延急剧增加。为此,在5G NR协议现有框架的基础上,针对52.6 GHz以上的高频段重新设计了一种专用于波束扫描的信号块(Beam Sweeping Block,BSB),并提出一种两阶段增强型波束管理机制,用于在初始接入过程中快速确定用户和基站的最佳通信波束,进而完成同步和小区搜索。仿真结果表明,相对于NR中现有的波束管理机制,所提出的增强型波束管理方案可在保证接入性能的前提下,大幅降低初始接入时延。

Energy conservation in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) has always been a crucial issue and has received increased attention in the recent years. A transmission scheme for energy-constrained WSNs is proposed in this paper. The scheme, called MIHOP (MIMO and Multi-hop), combines cluster-based virtual MIMO and multi-hop technologies. The multihop mode is employed in transmitting data when the related sensors are located within a specific number of hops from the sink, and the virtual MIMO mode is used in transmitting data from the remaining sensor nodes. We compare the energy consumption of different transmission schemes and propose an algorithm for determining the optimal hop count in MIHOP. A controllable mobile sink that reduces the energy consumed in sensor transmission is also adopted for data collection. The theoretical analysis and the Monte Carlo simulation demonstrate that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms individual virtual MIMO, multi-hop technologies, and double-string networks in terms of energy conservation. The energy consumption levels under the MIHOP scheme are approximately 12.98%, 47.55% and 48.30% less than that under virtual MIMO schemes, multi-hop networks and doublestring networks, respectively.

Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), an emerging broadband radio access technology, has attracted much attention from the whole telecom industry in recent years. Its main features are the high-speed transmission rate, large coverage, support for mobility, QoS guarantee and all-IP architecture. The technology fulfills the integration of packetized data, broadband access and mobilized terminal; therefore, it has a bright future for wide application. This lecture discusses WiMAX in four parts, and this part introduces QoS mechanism of the MAC layer and the WiMAX network architecture.

The mobile multicast technology has been a research hotspot in the wireless Internet field in recent years.Quite a large part of its applications requires the reliability in a mobile environment to be equivalent to that provided by wireline links.However,the inherent features of a mobile environment,that is,high error rate of links and dynamically changing multicast members’ locations,are great difficulties for mobile multicast,let alone reliable mobile multicast.The IPv4-based reliable mobile multicast algorithms come with two different design philosophies.A part of the algorithms is to be improved for better reliability by solving existing algorithm-related problems;while other algorithms are to implement reliable mobile multicast with new function entities introduced to guarantee reliability.

星地融合网络承载的通信服务呈现出多类型业务并发、业务需求差异化、数据流量聚集、大量重复请求等鲜明特征。针对多样化重复请求业务并发时链路负载过大、用户体验质量(Quality of Experience,QoE)难以保障的问题,提出一种基于深度强化学习(Deep Reinforcement Learning,DRL)的多业务缓存(Caching for Multi-Type Services,CMTS)策略。通过对星地融合网络中获取请求内容时延与三类典型业务时间效用函数分析建模,建立以最大化系统和效用为目标的优化问题,并提出一种基于多智能体深度确定性策略梯度(Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient,MADDPG)的MADDPG-CMTS算法,综合考虑业务效用差异化特征、用户请求、星地缓存、网络拓扑等多种因素确定缓存更新决策。仿真结果表明,所提算法与最受欢迎内容(Most Popular Content,MPC)策略、随机替换(Random Replacement,RR)策略等传统缓存更新策略相比,系统总效用可提升约47%。
