Aiming at solving the problem of high global warming potential of R134 a,a new mixed refrigerant R13 I1/R152 a(molar fraction ratio of 35:65)with no ozone depletion potential and low global warming potential was proposed as a substitute for R134 a in automotive air *** computational models for the thermodynamic properties of R13 I1/R152 a were established by using the PR(Peng-Robinson)equation of state combined with the vdW mixing *** on these models,the cycle performance of this working fluid was calculated,which was also compared with that of R134 a and R1234 yf under the different operating *** results show that R13 I1/R152 a is a near azeotropic refrigerant whose temperature glide is approximately 0,and the saturated vapor pressure curve of which is equivalent to that of R134 ***,compared to R134 a,R13 I1/R152 a has an average 5.7%improvement in coefficient of performance as well as similar volumetric cooling *** average coefficient of performance and volumetric cooling capacity of R13 I1/R152 a are significantly higher than those of R1234 yf by 13.8%and12.0%,***,the average discharge temperature of R13 I1/R152 a is approximately13.3 K higher than that of R134 a,but it is also within reasonable ***,the application of the proposed refrigerant R13 I1/R152 a in automotive air conditioning system is technically feasible.

Recycling strongly acidic wastewater as diluted H_(2)SO_(4) after contaminants contained being removed was previously proposed,however,Cl(-I),a kind of contaminant contained in strongly acidic wastewater,is difficult to remove,which severely degrades the quality of recycled H_(2)SO_(4).In this study,the removal of Cl(-I)using PbO_(2) was investigated and the involved mechanisms were *** removal efficiency of Cl(-I)reached 93.38%at 50℃ when PbO_(2)/Cl(-I)mole ratio reached 2:*** identification of reaction products shows that Cl(-I)was oxidized to Cl_(2),and PbO_(2) was reduced to PbSO_(4).Cl_(2) was absorbed by NaOH to form NaClO,which was used for the regeneration of PbO_(2) from the generated PbSO_(4).Cl(-I)was removed through two pathways,i.e.,surface oxidation and•OH radical oxidation.•OH generated by the reaction of PbO_(2) and OH−plays an important role in Cl(-I)*** regenerated PbO_(2) had excellent performance to remove Cl(-I)after six-time *** study provided an in-depth understanding on the effective removal of Cl(-I)by the oxidation method.

Reprogramming cell fates towards pluripotent stem cells and other cell types has revolutionized our under- standing of cellular plasticity. During the last decade, transcription factors and microRNAs have become powerful reprogramming factors for modulating cell fates. Recently, many efforts are focused on repro- gramming cell fates by non-viral and non-integrating chemical approaches. Small molecules not only are useful in generating desired cell types in vitro for vari- ous applications, such as disease modeling and cell- based transplantation, but also hold great promise to be further developed as drugs to stimulate patients＇ endogenous cells to repair and regenerate in vivo. Here we will focus on chemical approaches for generating induced pluripotent stem cells, neurons, cardiomy- ocytes, hepatocytes and pancreatic is cells. Significantly, the rapid and exciting advances in cellular reprogramming by small molecules will help us to achieve the long-term goal of curing devastating diseases, injuries, cancers and aging.

Berberine has been shown to reduce acute liver injury although the underlying mechanism is not fully understood. Because of the anatomic connection, the liver is constantly exposed to gut-derived bacterial products and metabolites. In this study, we showed that berberine has beneficial effects on both hepatotoxicity and intestinal damage in a rat model of chronic or acute liver injury. Microbiota transplantation from the rats with chronic hepatotoxicity could aggravate acute hepatotoxicity in mice treated with diethylnitrosamine(DEN). In rat models with gut homeostasis disruption induced by penicillin or dextran sulfate sodium(DSS), their fecal microbiota could also cause an enhanced hepatotoxicity of recipient mice. When treated with berberine,the DSS-induced enteric dysbacteriosis could be mitigated and their fecal bacteria were able to reduce acute hepatotoxicity in recipient mice. This study indicates that berberine could improve intestinal dysbacteriosis, which reduces the hepatotoxicity caused by pathological or pharmacological intervention. Fecal microbiota transplantation might be a useful method to directly explore homeostatic alteration in gut microbiota.

To develop a quantitative method for methylation analysis of the p16 gene based on mismatch hybridization and chemiluminescence. Methods Genomic DNA was modified by sodium bisulfite to convert all unmethylated but not methylated cytosines to uracil, and subsequently a pair of primer having no CpG sites was designed for amplification target DNA containing methylated or unmethylated CpG sites. The PCR product spanning CpG sites were hybridized with two oligonucleotide probes which perfectly matched the methylated and unmethylated CpG sequences respectively, and the hybrids were detected by chemiluminescent method. The percentage of methylated target sequences could be estimated by calculating the ratio of signals obtained with two probes. Results The percentage of methylation of artificial mixtures DNA showed a linear relation. There was a negative correlation between the methyaltion index with p16 transcriptional mRNA of p16 gene in tumor cell lines. Conclusion Compared with existing methods, this assay is nonisotopic, rapid, simple, and can be widely applied to the study of DNA methylation.

Gas molecules(such as CH4,CO,H2O,H2S,NH_3)adsorption on the pure and Au-doped WO3(001)surface have been studied by Density functional theory calculations with generalized gradient *** on the the calculation of adsorption energy,we found the most stable adsorption site for gas molecules by comparing the adsorption energies of different gas molecules on the WO3(001)*** have also compared the adsorption energy of five different gas molecules on the WO3(001)surface,our calculation results show that when the five kinds of gases are adsorbed on the pure WO3(001)surface,the order of the surface adsorption energy is CO>H2S>CH4>H2O>*** the results show that NH3 is the most easily adsorbed gas among the other four gases adsorbed on the surface of pure WO3(001)*** also calculated the five different gases on the Au-doped WO3(001)*** order of adsorption energy was found to be different from the previous calculation:CO>CH4>H2S>H2O>*** results provide a new route for the potential applications of Au-doped WO3 in gas molecules adsorption.

Tribological properties of nanometer cerium oxide as additives in lithium grease

This paper presents a comparative study of the influence of nanometer-CeO_2（nano-CeO_2） and temperature on tribological and lubricating properties of lithium grease. The morphology and structure of nanocrystals were characterized by means of transmission electron microscopy（TEM） and X-ray diffraction（XRD）, respectively. Friction and wear tests were conducted on the friction and wear *** show that the lithium grease with addition of nanometer-CeO_2 has much better friction-reducing and anti-wear performance than that of base grease. When the additive in grease is 0.6 wt%, the friction coefficient（COF） and wear scar diameter（WSD） decrease by 28% and 13% comparing with base grease,respectively. The base grease and grease with 0.6 wt% nanometer-CeO_2 both possess the lowest average COF and wear width at 50 ℃. The worn surface morphology after friction test was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy（SEM） and NANOVEA three-dimensional profilometer. Under the lubrication of the lithium grease containing 0.6 wt% nano-CeO_2. few shallow furrows can be observed on the quite smoothed surface and the WSD decreased. Moreover, It was found that the nano-CeO_2 has been incorporated into the surface protective and lubricious layer by energy dispersive spectrometer（EDS） analysis.

Introduction:Low energy balance closure(EBC)at a particular eddy-covariance flux site has increased the uncertainties of carbon,water,and energy measurements and has thus hampered the urgent research of scaling up and modeling analyses through site combinations in regional or global flux ***:A series of manipulative experiments were conducted in this study to explore the role of net radiation(Rn)in the EBC in relation to spatial variability of vegetation characteristics,source area,and sensor type in three sites of the Inner Mongolian grassland of northern ***:At all three sites,the residual fluxes of EBC peaked consistently at 110 W m^(-2).The spatial variability in net radiation was 19 W m^(-2)(5%of R_(n))during the day and 7 W m^(-2)(16%)at night,with an average of 13 W m^(-2)(11%)from eight plot measurements across the three *** area measurements of Rn significantly increased by 9 W m^(-2)during the day and decreased by 4 W m^(-2)at night in the unclipped *** radiation decreased by 25 W m^(-2)(6%of Rn)at midday and 81 MJ m^(-2)(6%)during a growing season with heavier regular clipping than that in unclipped *** Rn was lower by 11–21 W m^(-2)(~20–40%of Rn)measured by CNR1 than by Q7.1 at night,while there was only 6 W m^(-2)(~1–2%of Rn)difference during the daytime between these two types of commonly used net ***:Overall,the inclusion of the uncertainty in available energy accounted for 65%of the~110 W m^(-2)shortfalls in the lack of ***,the unclosed energy balance at these three grassland sites remains significant,with unexplored mechanisms for future research.

Cyclic-conjugated linkages between planar-macrocydic molecules contribute to the robustness of the two-dimensional (2D) polymerization and extension of π-interactions. The fabrication of such linkages in 2D polymers remains challenging. Combining scanning tunneling microscope (STM) measurements and density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we demonstrate a linear polymerization of metal-free naphthalocyanine (NPc) molecules with [4]-radialene-like linkages on silver surfaces. Experimentally, by depositing NPc molecules on the Ag(110) surface and subsequent annealing up to 750 K, one-dimensional polymers are constructed along the [\(1\overline 1 0\)] direction. High-resolution STM images show a stem-leaf-like feature. STM simulations based on a linear polymer of NPc molecules linked by four-membered carbon rings, [4]-radialene-like structure, agree well with the experimental observations. DFT calculations reveal that the polymerization process includes detaching two-terminal H atoms of NPc molecules along [\(1\overline 1 0\)] direction, then bonding with a neighboring dehydrogenated NPc molecule by forming a four-membered ring. The dehydrogenation process can be promoted by on-surface impurities such as additional H atoms. Similar polymerizations have been achieved on Ag(111) surfaces in an amorphous way. Moreover, the energy gap of the NPc molecule decreases after linear polymerization, suggesting a red-shift for its optical absorption/scattering spectrum. Our study offers a new route to polymerize conjugated molecules with extended planar π-interactions.
