Selective sintering of magnesia-calcia materials by utilizing hot spots during induction sintering process

Magnesia-calcia refractories are widely used in the production process of clean steel due to their excellent high-tem-perature stability,slag resistance and ability to purify molten ***,there are still problems such as difficult sintering and easy ***-calcia materials with various calcium oxide contents were prepared by using induction sintering,and the sintering property combined with the hydration resistance of the materials was *** experimental results showed that the magnesia-calcia materials prepared under induction field had higher density,microhardness and hydration *** particular,the relative density of induction sintered magnesia-calcia materials with 50 mo1%CaO was greater than 98%,and the average grain size of CaO was 4.56μm,which was much larger than that of traditional sintered *** order to clarify the densification and microstructure evolution mechanism of the magnesia-calcia materials,the changes in temperature and magnetic field throughout the sintering process were analyzed by using finite element *** results showed that the larger heating rate and higher sintering temperature under the induction sintering mode were beneficial to the rapid *** addition,the hot spots generated within the material due to the difference in high-temperature electric conductivity between MgO and CaO were the critical factor to realize selective sintering in MgO-CaO system,which provides a novel pathway to solve the problem of difficult sintering and control the microstructure of high-temperature composite material used in the field of high-purity steel smelting.

Isolation of a choline monooxygenase cDNA clone from Amaranthus tricolor and its expressions under stress conditions

Plants synthesize the osmoprotectant glycine betaine (GB) via choline→betaine aldehyde→glycine be- taine[1]. Two enzymes are involved in the pathway choline monooxygenase (CMO) and betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase (BADH). A full length CMO cDNA (1,643bp) was cloned from Amaranthus tricolor. The open reading frame encoded a 442-amino acid polypeptide, which showed 69% identity with CMOs in Spina- cia oleracea L. and Beta vulgaris L. DNA gel blot analysis indicated the presence of one copy of CMO gene in the A. tricolor genome. The expressions of CMO and BADH proteins in *** leaves significantly increased under salinization, drought and heat stress (42℃), as determined by immunoblot analysis, but did not respond to cold stress (4℃), or exogenous ABA application. The increase of GB content in leaves was parallel to CMO and BADH contents.

A Two-Layer Encoding Learning Swarm Optimizer Based on Frequent Itemsets for Sparse Large-Scale Multi-Objective Optimization

To the Editor:The epidemic caused by 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)has drawn public attention.[1]Huge infected population and enormous economic loss make it the urgent public health event to deal *** test targeting virus RNA was established at the early stage of outbreak and then used for 2019-nCoV infection diagnosis.[2]However,high risk of laboratory infection,high-qualified personnel,and strict operation condition hampered its application into primary hospitals and community clinics.[3]In this study,the serum immunoglobulin(Ig)M and IgG antibodies were detected in 2019-nCoV confirmed cases of different ***,three different immunological assays,chemiluminescent immunoassay(CLIA),gold immunochromatographic assay(GICA),and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)were used for IgM and IgG detection.

Blocking Posttranslational Core Fucosylation Ameliorates Rat Peritoneal Mesothelial Cell Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition

Background：Core fucosylation （CF）,catalyzed by α-1,6 fucosyltransferase （Fut8） in mammals,plays an important role in pathological processes through posttranslational modification of key signaling receptor proteins,including transforming growth factor （TGF）-β receptors and platelet-derived growth factor （PDGF） ***,its effect on peritoneal fibrosis is ***,we investigated its influence on epithelial-mesenchymal transition （EMT） of rat peritoneal mesothelial cells （PMCs） in vitro induced by a high-glucose （HG） culture ***：Rat PMCs were first cultured in a HG （2.5%） culture solution to observe the CF expression level （fluorescein isothiocyanate-lens culinaris agglutinin）,we next established a knockdown model of rat PMCs in vitro with Fut8 small interfering RNA （siRNA） to observe whether inhibiting CF decreases the messenger RNA （mRNA） expression and protein expression of Fut8 and reverses EMT *** PMCs were randomly divided into control group,mock group （transfected with scrambled siRNA）,Fut8 siRNA group,HG group,HG ＋ mock group,and HG ＋ Fut8 siRNA ***,we examined the activation of TGF-β/Smad2/3 signaling and PDGF/extracellular signal-regulated kinase （ERK） signaling to observe the influence of CF on ***：CF,Fut8 mRNA,and protein expression were all significantly upregulated in HG-induced EMT model than those in the control rat PMCs （P 〈 0.05）.Fut8 siRNA successfully blocked CF of TGF-β receptors and PDGF receptors and attenuated the EMT status （E-cadherin and α-SMA and phenotypic changes） in HG-induced rat *** TGF-β/Smad2/3 signaling,Fut8 siRNA did not suppress the protein expression of TGF-3 receptors and Smad2/3;however,it significantly suppressed the phosphowlation of Smad2/3 （relative expression folds of HG ＋ Fut8 group *** group：7.6 ± 0.4 vs.15.1 ± 0.6,respectively,P 〈 0.05）.In PDGF/ERK signaling,Fut8 siRNA did not suppress the protein expression of PDGF receptors and ERK,but it significantly suppres

Elevational and temporal patterns of pollination success in distylous and homostylous buckwheats(Fagopyrum)in the Hengduan Mountains

Reproductive strategies of sexually dimorphic plants vary in response to the ***,we ask whether the sexual systems of Fagopyrum species(i.e.,selfing homostylous and out-crossing distylous)represent distinct adaptive strategies to increase reproductive success in changing alpine *** answer this question,we determined how spatial and temporal factors(e.g.,elevation and peak flowering time)affect reproductive success(i.e.,stigmatic pollen load)in nine wild Fagopyrum species(seven distylous and two homostylous)among 28 populations along an elevation gradient of 1299-3315 m in the Hengduan Mountains,southwestern *** also observed pollinators and conducted hundreds of hand pollinations to investigate inter/intra-morph compatibility,self-compatibility and pollen limitation in four Fagopyrum species(two distylous and two homostylous).We found that Fagopyrum species at higher elevation generally had bigger flowers and more stigmatic pollen loads;lateflowering individuals had smaller flowers and lower pollen *** pollen deposition was more variable in distylous species than in homostylous *** seed set was not pollenlimited in all species,we found that fruit set was much lower in distylous species,which rely on frequent pollinator visits,than in homostylous species capable of autonomous *** findings that pollination success increases at high elevations and decreases during the flowering season suggest that distylous and homostylous species have spatially and temporally distinct reproductive strategies related to environment-dependent pollinator activity.

Steel-refractory reactions in lanthanum-,cerium-,and ytrium-added steels

A systematic experimental study was conducted on the similarities and differences in the reactions between commonly used rare earth elements(REEs)and frequently used refractories in the steelmaking *** results indicate that the reaction behaviors of La,Ce,and Y with MgO,Al_(2)O_(3),and MgO·Al_(2)O_(3) crucibles differed *** consumption rates of La,Ce,and Y in the molten steel were in descending order of La>Ce>Y for smelting with all three kinds of *** the REEs reacted with the crucible,the contents of Mg and Al showed a trend of first increasing and then *** laboratory-scale smelting conditions,the reactions related to REEs were dominated by steel-crucible reactions,and the contact area between the unit mass of molten steel and refractory materials mainly determined the consumption rates of ***-and Ce-crucible reactions generated loose and porous reaction interfaces;however,Y-crucible reactions generated a dense Y_(2)O_(3) layer,dramatically suppressing the consumption rate of *** calculation indicated that the reactions between rare earth and different refractory materials were first-order *** crucible materials significantly affected the product type and morphology of the steel-crucible reaction interfaces,thereby influencing the consumption rate of *** reactions between REEs and refractories must be seriously considered,especially for small-scale smelting.

Hydrogen acquisition from solar energy is an effective way to address energy crisis,which makes the development of efficient photocatalysts become the main direction of scientific ***,cobalt phthalocyanine/oxygen-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)(CoPc/OCN) S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst was designed by coupling multi-step calcination with solvothermal method for enhanced photothermal-assisted photocatalytic H_(2) *** multistep calcined g-C_(3)N_(4) is easier for O-doping formation,and the ethanol solvothermal strategy is utilized to enhance the dispersion of CoPc on OCN nano sheet surface and forms sufficient S-scheme heterojunction through *** addition,the active sites and excellent photothermal properties of CoPc itself further improve the integrated photocatalytic activity of CoPc/OCN S-scheme *** optimal photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate of CoPc/OCN S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst reached 9.56 mmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1),which is 2.69 and 1.23 times higher than that of CN and OCN,*** work provides a valuable design idea and scheme for enhancing the multi-factor co-assisted photocatalytic H_(2) evolution performance.
