Polymeric membranes with the integration of various functional performances toward wastewater treatment are urgently ***,most of the polymeric membranes only exhibit a single function of highly efficiently removing one kind of *** this work,a biomimetic modification method was introduced to tailor the chemical and topological structure of the porous poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)fibers prepared by *** polydopamine(PDA)nanoparticles were homogeneously introduced onto the surface of PVDF porous fibers via precisely tailoring the concentration of dopamine,which endowed the fibers with more polar groups and bigger roughness but did not destroy the crystalline *** fibrous membranes exhibited switchable superhydrophilicity and superlipophilicity characteristics,excellent adsorption abilities toward organic dyes,heavy metal ions and *** highest adsorption capacities achieved 917.4 mg/g toward methylene blue(MB),42.6 mg/g toward Cr(VI)and 74.6 g/g toward silicone oil,***,the membrane could rapidly remove the trace MB when water flowed through the *** membrane also exhibited excellent sterilization performances,and the bacterial eliminating rate achieved 99.9%for the *** and *** excellent light-to-heat conversion ability endowed the membrane with the selfheating ability,furtherly intensifying the wastewater treatment *** work confirms that the PDA nanoparticles-decorated PVDF porous fibers might be the new generation adsorbents used in wastewater treatment.

The thermal decomposition behavior of composite modified double-base（CMDB） propellant containing cyclotrimethylene trinitramine（RDX） was studied via a Calvet microcalorimeter at five different heating rates. The activation energy（E） and the pre-exponential factor（A） of two obvious exothermic processes were obtained by Kissinger＇s method and Ozawa＇s method. The entropy of activation（△S^≠）, the enthalpy of activation（△H^≠）, and the free energy of activation（△G^≠） of the first stage were calculated. To evaluate the thermal hazard of the RDX-CMDB propellant, the critical temperature of thermal explosion（Tb）, the self acceleration decomposition temperature（Tsgox）, the adiabatic decomposition temperature increment（ATad） and the time-to-explosion of adiabatic system（t） were presented as 145.3 ℃, 138.15 ℃, 1634 K and 583.71 s（n=0） and 586.28 s（n=1）, respectively.

Outcome of in vitro fertilization in endometriosis-associated infertility： a 5-year database cohort study

Background Endometriosis affects natural fertility through various approaches, and in vitro fertilization （IVF） is a good treatment. But the IVF result of endometriosis patients is still under debate. We investigated the effect of endometriosis on IVF by analyzing the data from a single reproductive center. Methods A retrospective, database-searched cohort study was performed. Relevant information was collected from the electronic records of women who underwent IVF/intracytoplasmic sperm injection between January 2006 and December 2010 in the Assisted Reproductive Unit of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital. Patients with endometriosis were enrolled the study group. The rest of the women formed the control group. The main outcome was the clinical pregnancy rate. Secondary outcomes were oocytes retrieved number, fertilization rate, high-quality embryo rate, number of high-quality embryo for embryo transplantation, and implantation embryo/high-quality embryo ratio （IE/HQE ratio）. Comparisons were performed by the z2-test and independent t-test. Results The endometriosis group （n=177） had a markedly lower oocytes retrieved number, fertilization rate, implantation rate, and clinical pregnancy rate （7.6_＋5.1, 63.6%, 27.7%, and 45.2%, respectively） compared with the non-endometriosis group （n=4267; 11.8＋7.3, 68.4%, 36.2%, and 55.2%, respectively）. Stratified analysis showed that this difference was found in the subgroup younger than 35-years old, while only fertilization rate and implantation rate were different in the elder subgroup. The ratio of high-quality embryos transferred is lower in endometriosis group （53.7% vs. 71.8%, P 〈0.05）, but there is no difference in IE/HQE ratio between two groups. There is no significant difference in fertilization rate, implantation rate, and clinical pregnancy rate between mild and severe endometriosis patients. Conclusions Endometriosis patients suffer a decreasing IVF pregnancy rates mainly caused by reducing oocytes number and fertilization

Long-term outcomes of choledochoduodenostomy for hepatolithiasis

Background Oddi sphincter plays an important role in preventing reflux cholangitis. There exists the controversy on application of choledochoduodenostomy in hepatolithiasis management. The present study aimed at evaluating long-term outcomes of choledochoduodenostomy for the treatment of hepatolithiasis. Methods Forty-six consecutive cases of hepatolithiasis who underwent choledochoduodenostomy were analyzed retrospectively. The pre- and postoperative rates of recurrent cholangitis and acute cholangitis severe type were compared. Paired chi-square test was applied. Results The mean follow-up time was 17.3 years ranging from 1.6 to 40 years with a follow-up rate of 97.8% （45/46）. High rates of remnant stones （39.1%, 18/46）, recurrent stones （31.1%, 14/45）, uncorrected strictures （85%, 17/20）, and mortality （24.4%, 11/45） were observed in this group. Regurgitation of food debris and duodenal content into the biliary tract through the anastomosis was observed. The rate of recurrent cholangitis was equal to the preoperative period （93.3%, 42/45）. The rate of acute cholangitis severe type after choledochoduodenostomy （46.7%, 21/45） increased significantly （P 〈0.01） when compared to the preoperative period （20.0%, 9/45）. Conclusions Choledochoduodenostomy did not entirely achieve the goal of clearance of stones, correction of strictures, and removing of hepatobiliary lesions by itself. Chofedochoduodenostomy without cholangioplasty resulted in an increase of severe reflux cholangitis due to the loss of the anti-reflux function of the sphincter of Oddi. Therefore, choledochoduodenostomy is not an ideal approach to reduce cholangitis in hepatolithiasis and is not the best choice in the management of hepatolithiasis.

Background Weaning difficulties occur in 31% of total intubated patients, and result in prolonged weaning duration. A computer-driven automated weaning system can perform a spontaneous breathing trial （SBT） automatically and display a message when the trial is successfully passed. Such a system might have a beneficial effect on difficult-to-wean patients. The aim of this study was to examine whether the computer-driven automated weaning system can accelerate discontinuation of mechanical ventilation and improve outcomes in difficult-to-wean patients. Methods This randomized controlled study included 39 difficult-to-wean patients who failed their first spontaneous breathing trial. Before initiating weaning, eligible patients were randomly allocated to wean by computer-driven automated weaning system （CDW group, n=19） or a physician-controlled local protocol （PW group, n=20）. Weaning duration, defined as the time from inclusion until first extubation, was the primary endpoint. Secondary endpoints were total duration of mechanical ventilation, the length of intensive care unit （ICU） stay, the number of reintubations, the mortality rate in the ICU, the number of noninvasive ventilations, the number of complications in the ICU, and the number of ventilator-associated pneumonia cases. Results The weaning duration was reduced with the computer-driven weaning as compared with the usual protocol （median 29.0 hours vs. 45.5 hours, P=0.044）. Total duration of mechanical ventilation and duration of the ICU stay did not differ between the CDW and PW groups. There was no difference in the number of reintubations between the CDW and PW groups （3 and 4 patients, P=0.732）. The study groups showed comparable numbers of tracheostomy, self- extubations, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and non-invasive ventilation. Mortality in the ICU was similar in the CDW and the PW groups （21.1% vs. 20.0%, P=0.935）. Conclusion The computer-driven automated weaning system can reduce weaning duration

As one of the key properties of the Higgs boson, the Higgs total width is sensitive to the global profile ofthe Higgs boson couplings, and thus new physics would modify the Higgs width. We investigate the total width invarious new physics models, including various scalar extensions, composite Higgs models, and the fraternal twinHiggs model. Typically, the Higgs width is smaller than the standard model value due to mixture with other scalarsif the Higgs is elementary, or curved Higgs field space for the composite Higgs. On the other hand, except for thepossible invisible decay mode, the enhanced Yukawa coupling in the two Higgs doublet model or the exotic fermionembeddings in the composite Higgs could enhance the Higgs width greatly. The precision measurement of the Higgstotal width at the high-luminosity LHC can be used to discriminate certain new physics models.
