Time and culture are rivers without banks.The elegance and archaic style of culture is a kind of blood inheritance,and the myriad types of cooked food in the world are also a kind of passing of the torch from generation to generation.Against the vast backdrop of the century-old history of lingnan(an area south of the Five Ridges in China),Ge Liang's latest full-length novel,Food Is Heaven,is a wonderful story about the inheritance of four generations of chefs.It describes the cultivation of the industry as well as self-cultivation and conducting oneself in the world."To see a world in a line of work,and one bodhi in a karma."This novel reproduces the changes of the times and reveals the profound history and deep patriotism behind the Chinese food culture.It reflects on the inheritance of cooking skills and depicts the extraordinary roots of fine Chinese culture,and studies how the cohesive force of the Chinese nation in different regions has been unconsciously established through those roots.

Objective:To analyze misdiagnosis features in clinical cases of“Classified Medical Cases of Famous Physicians”and“Supplement to Classified Case Records of Celebrated Physicians.”Materials and Methods:Two hundred and five ancient misdiagnosed cases were analyzed in aspects of locations(exterior-interior type,qi-blood type and Zang‑Fu organs type)and patterns(heat-cold type and deficiency-excess type)by Apriori Algorithm Method.Results:The main types of misdiagnosis in those medical casesare as follows::Zang‑Fu location misjudgment,misjudging the interior as the exterior,misjudging deficiency pattern as excess pattern,and misjudging cold pattern as heat pattern.Among them,the most outstanding type is the misjudgment of deficiency–cold pattern as excess–heat pattern.Conclusions:(1)Accurate judgment of location and differentiation of deficiency and excess patterns are the key points in diagnosing the diseases correctly.The confusion of true deficiency–cold and pseudo‑excess–heat pattern should be taken seriously.(2)Data mining on ancient clinical cases offers a new methodology for assisting clinical diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine.

PHISDetector:A Tool to Detect Diverse In Silico Phage–host Interaction Signals for Virome Studies

Phage-microbe interactions are appealing systems to study coevolution,and have also been increasingly emphasized due to their roles in human health,disease,and the development of novel therapeutics.Phage-microbe interactions leave diverse signals in bacterial and phage genomic sequences,defined as phage-host interaction signals(PHISs),which include clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)targeting,prophage,and protein-protein interaction signals.In the present study,we developed a novel tool phage-host interaction signal detector(PHISDetector)to predict phage-host interactions by detecting and integrating diverse in silico PHISs,and scoring the probability of phage-host interactions using machine learning models based on PHIS features.We evaluated the performance of PHISDetector on multiple benchmark datasets and application cases.When tested on a dataset of 758 annotated phage-host pairs,PHISDetector yields the prediction accuracies of 0.51 and 0.73 at the species and genus levels,respectively,outperforming other phage-host prediction tools.When applied to 125,842 metagenomic viral contigs(mVCs)derived from 3042 geographically diverse samples,a detection rate of 54.54% could be achieved.Furthermore,PHISDetector could predict infecting phages for 85.6% of 368 multidrug-resistant(MDR)bacteria and 30% of 454 human gut bacteria obtained from the National Institutes of Health(NIH)Human Microbiome Project(HMP).The PHISDetector can be run either as a web server(http://***/PHISDetector/)for general users to study individual inputs or as a stand-alone version(https://***/HITImmunologyLab/PHISDetector)to process massive phage contigs from virome studies.

This paper presents a 2-D numerical investigation on interaction between regular waves and a fully submerged horizontal cylinder.A mathematical model of numerical wave tank with two-way fluid-solid interactions were developed and validated.The wave-induced vibrations of a single-degree-of-freedom cylinder were simulated at eleven gap ratios(d/a=8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24,28 and 32).Numerical results indicate that significant nonlinear characteristics are introduced into the originally linear waves with the presence of cylinder.Based on the variation characteristics of cylinder vibration amplitude,the gap ratios can be divided into three ranges,i.e.,the uncertain range(8≤d/a≤14),quasi-linear range(14≤d/a≤20)and linear range(20≤d/a≤32).Under the same wave condition,the gap ratio does not affect the frequencies of vortex shedding and cylinder vibration.The presence of the cylinder complicates the flow field and suppress the vortex shedding around the cylinder.

Estimation of treatment effects is one of the crucial mainstays in economics and sociology studies.The problem will become more serious and complicated if the treatment variable is endogenous for the presence of unobserved confounding.The estimation and conclusion are likely to be biased and misleading if the endogeny of treatment variable is ignored.In this article,we propose the pseudo maximum likelihood method to estimate treatment effects in nonlinear models.The proposed method allows the unobserved confounding and random error terms to exist in an arbitrary relationship(such as,add or multiply),and the unobserved confounding have different influence directions on treatment variables and outcome variables.The proposed estimator is consistent and asymptotically normally distributed.Simulation studies show that the proposed estimator performs better than the special regression estimator,and the proposed method is stable for various distribution of error terms.Finally,the proposed method is applied to the real data that studies the influence of individuals have health insurance on an individual’s decision to visit a doctor.

Industrial robots are widely used in various areas owing to their greater degrees of freedom(DOFs)and larger operation space compared with traditional frame movement systems involving sliding and rotational stages.However,the geometrical transfer of joint kinematic errors and the relatively weak rigidity of industrial robots compared with frame movement systems decrease their absolute kinematic accuracy,thereby limiting their further application in ultraprecision manufacturing.This imposes a stringent requirement for improving the absolute kinematic accuracy of industrial robots in terms of the position and orientation of the robot arm end.Current measurement and compensation methods for industrial robots either require expensive measuring systems,producing positioning or orientation errors,or offer low measurement accuracy.Herein,a kinematic calibration method for an industrial robot using an artifact with a hybrid spherical and ellipsoid surface is proposed.A system with submicrometric precision for measuring the position and orientation of the robot arm end is developed using laser displacement sensors.Subsequently,a novel kinematic error compensating method involving both a residual learning algorithm and a neural network is proposed to compensate for nonlinear errors.A six-layer recurrent neural network(RNN)is designed to compensate for the kinematic nonlinear errors of a six-DOF industrial robot.The results validate the feasibility of the proposed method for measuring the kinematic errors of industrial robots,and the compensation method based on the RNN improves the accuracy via parameter fitting.Experimental studies show that the measuring system and compensation method can reduce motion errors by more than 30%.The present study provides a feasible and economic approach for measuring and improving the motion accuracy of an industrial robot at the submicrometric measurement level.

AIM：To conduct a Meta-analysis for investigating the variations in intraocular pressure（IOP）and central corneal thickness（CCT）during normal pregnancy.METHODS：We searched for clinical trials published up to November 2015 without language or region restrictions in Pub Med,EMBASE,Web of Science,the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,Ovid,EBSCO,Elsevier,the Chinese Biomedicine Database,Wan Fang,CNKI,CQVIP and Google Scholar.Studies of the ocular changes observed in pregnant women were selected.The main outcomes were assessed by changes in IOP and CCT.RESULTS：Fifteen studies were included.In subgroup analyses,IOP was significantly decreased during the second MD=-1.53,95%CI（-2.19,-0.87）;P〈0.00001,and third MD=-2.91,95%CI（-3.74,-2.08）;P〈0.00001 trimesters of pregnancy.CCT was increased during the second MD=10.12,95%CI（2.01,18.22）;P=0.01,trimester of pregnancy;moreover,during the third trimester of pregnancy,the CCT displayed an increasing trend,but the difference was not significant MD=5.98,95%CI（-1.11,13.07）;P=0.1.CONCLUSION：A decrease in IOP is accompanied by an increase in CCT in the second and third trimesters of a normal pregnancy in women.

Bifurcation analysis of a fractional-order SIQR model with double time delays

In this paper,a fractional-order delayed SIQR model with nonlinear incidence rate is investigated.Two time delays are incorporated in the model to describe the incubation period and the time caused by the healing cycle.By analyzing the associated characteristic equations,the stability of the endemic equilibrium and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are obtained in three different cases.Besides,the critical values of time delays at which a Hopf bifurcation occurs are obtained,and the influence of the fractional order on the dynamics behavior of the system is also investigated.Numerically,it has been shown that when the endemic equilibrium is locally stable,the convergence rate of the system becomes slower with the increase of the fractional order.Besides,our studies also imply that the decline of the fractional order may convert a oscillatory system into a stable one.Furthermore,we find in all these three cases,the bifurcation values are very sensitive to the change of the fractional order,and they decrease with the increase of the order,which means the Hopf bifurcation gradually occurs in advance.

Objective:To evaluate the influence of different transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)modes on ovarian responses and pregnancy outcomes in patients with infertility undergoing in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET).Methods:Two hundred infertility patients undergoing IVF-ET were divided randomly into experimental groups(TEAS groups:E-Ⅰ,E-Ⅱ,E-Ⅲ,and E-Ⅳ,40 cases each group)and a control group(mock TEAS group,40 patients)using the random number method.The patients in the experimental groups received TEAS treatment of 20,30,40 and 50 m A for the E-Ⅰ,E-Ⅱ,E-Ⅲand E-Ⅳgroups,respectively.The control group received a treatment of 5 m A.TEAS was applied at acupoints of Guanyuan(RN 4),Zhongji(RN 3),Sanyinjiao(SP 6),Zigong(EX-CA 1),and Taixi(KI 13),once a day for 30 min each time for a treatment period of 10-13 d.Treatment effect was assessed using the following indicators:endometrial thickness on the 6 th day of gonadotropin treatment(GN6 day),endometrial thickness on the day on chorionic gonadotropin administration(HCG day),number of ovarian follicles on HCG day,number of ova captured,amount of estrogen required for each harvested ova,number of mature ova divided by the total number of ova,percentage of high-quality embryos,and clinical pregnancy.Results:Endometrial thickness in the experimental groups on the HCG day was significantly better than that of the control group after TEAS stimulation(P=0.01).TEAS exhibited a greater impact on the number of ova captured(P=0.003).However,the effect of TEAS stimulation on the high-quality embryo rate and clinical pregnancy in patients was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusions:TEAS is an effective method in improving the ovarian state.When the stimulus intensity was at 40 m A and above,it could be helpful to improve the patient’s endometrial condition and endometrial receptivity and to retrieve more oocytes.(Trial registration No.Chi CTR-TRC-11001780)
