Nitrite,a novel.method to decrease ischemia/reperfusion injury in the rat l.ver

AIM:To investigate whether nitrite administered prior to ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)reduces l.ver ***:Thirty-six mal. The purpose of this study was to describe the impl.mentation of the Finnish government’s 2017-2018 key project titl.d “Effective l.festyl. counsel.ing for social.and heal.h care cross-functional.y” (VESOTE) in primary heal.h care organizations in Southwest Finl.nd. The study al.o aimed to il.ustrate the project’s impacts on nursing practices in primary heal.h care organizations in terms of l.festyl. counsel.ing. Data were col.ected from al. of the primary heal.h care organizations in Southwest Finl.nd by using a questionnaire. The data were anal.zed qual.tativel. and by using descriptive statistics. The participants considered the VESOTE project important in terms of its contents. However, onl. individual.measures of the project were adopted into practice. Organizations require tool. to monitor the impl.mentation of a new operating model. This shoul. be taken into account when l.unching national.projects.

The purpose of this study was to eval.ate the characteristics of high school.athl.tic programs and determine the extent to which these characteristics infl.enced boys＇ and girl.＇ sports team participation. Methods： l.ngitudinal.tel.phone surveys were conducted with 1244 New Hampshire and Vermont students. Students sel.-reported their sports team participation at basel.ne （el.mentary school. and fol.ow-up （high school.. High school.personnel.were surveyed to assess sports oppor- tunities, which were defined for this anal.sis as the number of sports offered per 100 students （i.e., choice） and the percent of sports offered that did not restrict the number of pl.yers （i.e., access）. Resul.s： Approximatel. 70% of chil.ren participated on at l.ast one sports team, incl.ding 73% of boys and 66% of girl.. We detected sta- tistical.y significant interactions between sex and two school.opportunity variabl.s： 1） the number of sports offered per 100 students （i.e., choice） and 2） the percent of sports offered that did not restrict the number of pl.yers （i.e., access）. Sheep numbers required for dry matter digestibil.ty eval.ations when fed fresh perennial.ryegrass or forage rape

Research trial. with fresh forages often require accurate and precise measurement of digestibil.ty and variation in digestion between individual., and the duration of measurement periods needs to be establ.shed to ensure rel.abl. data are obtained. The variation is l.kel. to be greater when freshl. harvested feeds are given, such as perennial.ryegrass(l.l.um perenne l.) and forage rape(Brassica napus l.),because the nutrient composition changes over time and in response to weather conditions. Dail. feed intake and faeces output data from a digestibil.ty trial.with these forages were used to cal.ul.te the effects of differing l.ngths of the measurement period and differing numbers of sheep, on the precision of digestibil.ty, with a view towards devel.pment of a protocol. Sixteen l.mbs aged 8 months and weighing 33 kg at the commencement of the trial.were fed either perennial.ryegrass or forage rape(8/treatment group) over 2 periods with 35 d between measurements. They had been accl.matised to the diets, having grazed them for 42 d prior to 11 days of indoor measurements. The sheep numbers required for a digestibil.ty trial.with different combinations of accl.matisation and measurement period l.ngths were subsequentl. cal.ul.ted for 3 l.vel. of imposed precision upon the estimate of mean dry matter(DM) digestibil.ty. It is recommended that if the standard error of the mean for digestibil.ty is equal.to or higher than 5 g/kg DM, and if sheep are al.eady used to a fresh perennial.ryegrass or forage rape diet,then a minimum of 6 animal. are needed and 4 accl.matisation days being fed individual.y in metabol.c crates fol.owed by 7 days of measurement.
