It is shown that a germ.of a holom.rphic m.pping sending a real-analytic generic subm.nifold of finite type into another is determ.ned by its projection on the Segre variety of the target m.nifold. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for a germ.of a m.pping into the Segre variety of the target m.nifold to be the projection of a holom.rphic m.pping sending the source m.nifold into the target. An application to the biholom.rphic equivalence problem.is also given.

Knowledge of sim.lated m.crogravity （Sm.）-induced changes in the pathogenicity of m.croorganism. is im.ortant for success of long-term.spaceflight. In a previous study using the high aspect ratio vessel bioreactor, we showed that the yeast species Saccharom.ces cerevisiae underwent a significant phenotypic response when grown in m.deled m.crogravity, which was reflected in the analysis of gene expression profiles. In this study, we establish that Candida albicans responds to Sm. in a sim.lar fashion, dem.nstrating that there is a conserved response am.ng yeast to this environm.ntal stress. We also report that the growth of C. albicans in Sm. results in a m.rphogenic switch that is consistent with enhanced pathogenicity. Specifically, we observed an increase in filam.ntous form. of the organism.and accom.anying changes in the expression of two genes associated with the yeasthyphal transition. The m.rphological response m.y have significant im.lications for astronauts＇ safety, as the fungal pathogen m.y becom. m.re virulent during spaceflight.

The prom.nence of Renewable Energy Sources(RES)in the process of power generation is exponentially increased in the recent days since these sources assist in m.nim.zing the environm.ntal contam.nation.A grid-tied DFIG(Doubly Fed Induction Generator)based WECS(Wind Energy Conversion System.is introduced in this work,in which a Landsm.n converter is im.lem.nted to im.ro-vise the output voltage of PV without anyﬂuctuations.A novel GA(Genetic Algorithm.assisted ANN(Artiﬁcial Neural Network)is em.loyed for tracking the m.xim.m.power from.*** the rotor and grid side controllers,the for-m.r is im.lem.nted by com.ining the statorﬂux with d-q reference fram. and the latter is realized by the PI *** proposed approach delivers better per-form.nce in the com.ensation of real and reactive power along with the DC link voltage *** controlling m.chanism.is veriﬁed in both m.TLAB and experim.ntal bench setupby using an em.lated wind turbine for the concurrent control of DC link potential,active and reactive *** source current THD is observed as 1.93%and 2.4%for sim.lation and hardware im.lem.ntation respectively.

The application of non-linear loads in the power electronic device causes serious harm.nic issues in the power system.since it has the intrinsic prop-erty of retrieving harm.nic current and reactive power from.Alternating Current(AC)supply that leads to voltage *** m.intain a reliable powerﬂow in the power system.an innovative Uniﬁed Power Flow Converter(UPFC)is uti-lized in this proposed *** conventional series converter is replaced with the m.dular m.ltilevel Converter(m.C)that im.roves the power handling capability and achieves higher m.dular level with m.nim.zed *** shunt com.ensator assists in m.nim.zing the voltageﬂuctuations and m.xim.zing the voltage stability under different load *** Direct Quadrature(DQ)theory is utilized in this study to separate the harm.nic com.onents by generating reference fram. *** Proportional Integral(PI)controller aids in m.intain-ing the direct current potential difference in the constant m.de whereas the Pulse Width m.dulation(PWm.generator helps in delivering optim.zed output to the *** gain param.ters of PI controller are optim.zed with the aid of em.loy-ing Particle Swarm.Optim.zation(PSO).The entire work is validated using m.TLAB sim.link and the obtained outcom.s proves that this new UPFC is highly beneﬁcial in m.nim.zing the distortions with reduced Total Harm.nic Distortion(THD)of 2.21%.

Australia is a large, old and flat island continent that becam. isolated following the breakup of the Gondwanan super continent. After m.re than 40-50 m.years of independent evolution, approx. 600,000-700,000 species now call Australia hom.. m.re than 21,000 of these species are plants, with at least84% of these being endem.c. Plant taxa are protected, conserved and m.naged under a range of legislation at the State-and Territory-level as well as Federally for m.tters of national significance. This can create issues of m.salignm.nt am.ng threatened species lists but generally there is co-operation am.ng conservation agencies to reduce m.salignm.nts and to m.nage species irrespective of jurisdictional borders. Despite significant investm.nt in program. designed to assist the recovery of Australian biodiversity, threatened plants in particular appear to be continuing to decline. This can be attributed to a range of factors including m.jor threatening processes associated with habitat loss and invasive species,lack of public awareness of the cultural and socio-econom.c value of plant conservation, and our relatively poor understanding of basic species taxonom. and biology, especially for those species that have specific interactions with pollinators, sym.ionts and herbivores. A recent shift in Federally-based conservation program. has been to identify 30 key plant species for recovery through the setting of m.asurable targets, im.roving the support provided to recovery team. and encouraging industry,business and philanthropy to support conservation actions.

A classical function of Clq is to bind im.une com.lexes and initiate com.lem.nt activation producing m.m.rane lytic com.lexes, opsonins and anaphylatoxins. This classical pathway of com.lem.nt activation is also elicited when Clq binds som. other ligands. Besides com.lem.nt activation, Clq also regulates cell differentiation, adhesion, m.gration, activation and survival. Clq deficiency is associated with autoim.unity as well as increased susceptibility to infections. In this article, we discuss the basic properties of Clq, its expression, and classical and regulatory functions. Cellular ＆ m.lecular Im.unology.

Analyzing coagulability often hinges on patient surveillance using prothrom.in tim. (PT) or international norm.lized ratio (INR) and activated partial throm.oplastin tim. (aPTT) to m.nitor the extrinsic and intrinsic coagulation pathways, respectively A m.re com.lete assessm.nt, however, can often be obtained using throm.oelastography (TEG), a coagulation assay that evaluates the efficiency of clot form.tion, as well as the viscoelastic properties of the clot. Developed by Dr. Helm.t Hartert in 1948 at the UniversityofHeidelberg, it provides inform.tion regarding hem.stasis as a dynam.c process [1,2]. Here, the TEG technique will be described, as well as its current applications and future directions for its use.
