Regulating luminescent dynamics of lanthanide-based luminescent materials via external stimuli is of great significance in the fields of optical thermometry and high-level ***,it is still a huge challenge to realize multimodal emissions with tunable color outputs from a single activator in simple structures via smart dynamic control of photon transition ***,we present a mechanistic strategy to achieve multimodal luminescence of Er^(3+)activators with color-switchable outputs in a non-core-shell *** the control of excitation dynamics(λ_(ex)=980,808,1532,377 nm),the population among the intermediate en ergy levels of Er^(3+)and the interaction between Er^(3+)and Yb^(3+)could be precisely modulated through energy transfer and migration processes,leading to the generation of colortunable multimodal luminescence upon diverse excitation modes(non-steady-state,single-/dual-wavelength steady,thermal activation).Inspired by its special luminescent performance,the as-obtained material exhibits great potential in noncontact thermometry,multimodal anticounterfeiting,and high-capacity information encryption by performing a series of proof-of-concept *** findings might provide a conceptual model to modulate the luminescent dynamics in a simple-structured system for the generation of color-adjustable multimodal emissions,which is convenient for the development of advanced luminescent materials toward versatile cuttingedge applications.

Boron neutron capture therapy(BNCT)is recognized as a precise binary targeted radiotherapy technique that effectively eliminates tumors through the^(10)B(n,α)^(7)Li nuclear *** various neutron sources,accelerator-based sources have emerged as particularly promising for BNCT ***^(7)Li(p,n)^(7)Be reaction is highly regarded as a potential neutron source for BNCT,owing to its low threshold energy for the reaction,significant neutron yield,appropriate average neutron energy,and additional *** study utilized Monte Carlo simulations to model the physical interactions within a lithium target subjected to proton bombardment,including neutron moderation by an MgF_(2)moderator and subsequent BNCT dose analysis using a Snyder head *** study focused on calculating the yields of epithermal neutrons for various incident proton energies,finding an optimal energy at 2.7 ***,the Snyder head phantom was employed in dose simulations to validate the effectiveness of this specific incident energy when utilizing a^(7)Li(p,n)^(7)Be neutron source for BNCT purposes.

Background:Visual-spatial neglect (VSN) is a neuropsychological syndrome,and right-hemisphere stroke is the most common *** pathogenetic mechanism of VSN remains *** study aimed to investigate the behavioral and event-related potential (ERP) changes in patients with or without VSN after right-hemisphere ***:Eleven patients with VSN with right-hemisphere stroke (VSN group) and 11 patients with non-VSN with righthemisphere stroke (non-VSN group) were recruited along with one control group of 11 age- and gender-matched healthy *** visual-spatial function was evaluated using behavioral tests,and ERP examinations were ***:The response times in the VSN and non-VSN groups were both prolonged compared with those of normal controls (P 0.05).Conclusions:Visual-spatial attention function is impaired after right-hemisphere stroke,and clinicians should be aware of the subclinical *** findings provide neuroelectrophysiological evidence for the lateralization of VSN.

PDI is a molecular chaperone and plays an important role in Endoplasmic Reticulum quality control (ERQC).PDI participates in the refolding of the misfolded/unfolded proteins to maintain cellular homeostasis under differentstresses. However, bioinformatic characteristics and potential functions of PDIs in diatom Phaeodactylumtricornutum (Pt) are still unknown so far. Hence, the genome-wide characteristics of PtPDI proteins in P. tricornutumwere first studied via bioinformatic and transcriptomic methods. 42 PtPDI genes were identified from thegenome of P. tricornutum. The motif, protein structure, classification, number of introns, phylogenetic relationship,and the expression level of 42 PtPDI genes under the tunicamycin stress were analyzed. A pair of tandemduplicated genes (PtPDI15 and PtPDI18) was observed in P. tricornutum. The 42 PtPDIs with different genecharacteristics were divided into three independent clades, indicating different evolutional relationships and functionsof these PtPDIs. The 14 up-regulated PtPDI genes under the tunicamycin treatment might have a positiveeffect on the ER quality control of the unfolded/misfolded proteins, while the 7 down-regulated PtPDIs mightnegatively affect the ERQC. The characteristics of all 42 PtPDIs and their proposed working model here providea comprehensive understanding of the PtPDIs gene family. The differential expression of 21 PtPDIs will be usefulfor further functional study in the ERQC.

Systemic immune monitoring is a crucial clinical tool for disease early diagnosis,prognosis and treatment planning by quantitative analysis of immune ***,conventional immune monitoring using flow cytometry faces huge challenges in large-scale sample testing,especially in mass health screenings,because of time-consuming,technical-sensitive and high-cost ***,the lack of high-performance detection platforms hinders the development of high-throughput immune monitoring *** address this bottleneck,we constructed a generally applicable DNA framework signal amplification platform(DSAP)based on post-systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment and DNA tetrahedral framework-structured probe design to achieve high-sensitive detection for diverse immune cells,including CD4+,CD8+T-lymphocytes,and monocytes(down to 1/100μl).Based on this advanced detection platform,we present a novel high-throughput immune-cell phenotyping system,DSAP,achieving 30-min one-step immune-cell phenotyping without cell washing and subset analysis and showing comparable accuracy with flow cytometry while significantly reducing detection time and *** a proof-of-concept,DSAP demonstrates excellent diagnostic accuracy in immunodeficiency staging for 107 HIV patients(AUC>0.97)within 30 min,which can be applied in HIV infection monitoring and ***,we initially introduced promising DSAP to achieve high-throughput immune monitoring and open robust routes for point-of-care device development.

Sulfonimidoyl fluorides,the aza-bioisostere of sulfonyl fluorides,are emerging as a promising linkage agent in the sulfur(VI)fluoride exchange reaction(SuFEx).However,conventional synthetic approaches typically require the use of either unstable sulfonimidoyl chlorides,toxic and corrosive sulfur fluorides,or expensive electrophilic fluorinating ***,we report an electrochemistry-enabled oxidative nucleophilic fluorination of readily available and bench-stable sulfinamides using a commercially available and easy-to-handle triethylamine *** other nucleophilic agents,this electrochemical approach also serves as a general approach to diverse sulfonimidoyl derivatives,including sulfonimidoyl azides and acetates.

Reducing children’s exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate in homes and kindergartens in China:Impact on lifetime cancer risks and burden of disease

Exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)in the indoor environment has been linked with significant health risks for Chinese ***-phase DEHP concentrations in Chinese residences and kindergartens were estimated using a mass balance model based on the current baseline condition and control strategies(i.e.,increasing ventilation rate,reducing area of sources,using mechanical ventilation systems,and using portable air cleaners).The health benefits of each control strategy were quantified as the reduction in lifetime cancer risks(LCR)and burden of disease(BoD).In the current situation,the mean LCR and disability-adjusted life years(DALY)number attributable to indoor DEHP exposure for Chinese children were around 6.0×10^(−6) and 155 thousand,*** mean LCR and DALY might be reduced by 25%-54%and 16%-40%,respectively,by increasing air exchange rates by 100%,reducing the use of source materials by two-thirds or deploying commercial air cleaners in naturally ventilated ***,avoidable DALYs could result in a reduction of mean economic losses of 2.2-5.3 billion *** ventilation systems with filtration units may not be helpful for reducing children’s health ***-specific and tailor-made control measures are critical in lowering indoor exposure to DEHP to promote sustainable buildings and children’s health in China.

BACKGROUND The association of different body components,including lean mass and body fat,with the risk of death in acute coronary syndrome(ACS)patients are *** We enrolled adults diagnosed with ACS at our center between January 2011 and December 2012 and obtained fol-low-up outcomes via telephone *** used restricted cubic splines(RCS)with the Cox proportional hazards model to analyze the associations between body mass index(BMI),predicted lean mass index(LMI),predicted body fat percentage(BF),and the value of LMI/BF with 10-year *** also examined the secondary outcome of death during *** During the maximum 10-year follow-up of 1398 patients,331 deaths(23.6%)occurred,and a U-shaped relationship was found between BMI and death risk(P_(nonlinearity)=0.03).After adjusting for age and history of diabetes,the overweight group(24≤BMIlinear relationship with a 10-year death risk(P_(nonlinearity)=0.24 and P_(nonlinearity)=0.38,respectively),while an increase in BF was associ-ated with increased mortality(P_(nonlinearity)=0.64).During hospitalization,31 deaths(2.2%)were recorded,and the associations of the indicators with in-hospital mortality were consistent with the long-term outcome *** Our study provides new insight into the“obesity paradox”in ACS patients,highlighting the importance of considering body composition *** LMI and BF may serve as useful tools for assessing nutritional status and predicting the prognosis of ACS,based on their linear associations with all-cause mortality.
