The monocarboxylate transporter 1(MCT1),encoded by gene Slc16a1,is a proton-coupled transporter for lactate and other monocar***1-mediated lactate transport was recently found to regulate various biological ***,how MCT1 and lactate in the intestine modulate the physiology and pathophysiology of the body is *** this study,we generated a mouse model with specific deletion of Slc16a1 in the intestinal epithelium(Slc16a1IKO mice)and investigated the functions of MCT1 in the *** fed a high-fat diet,Slc16a1IKO male mice had improvement in glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity,while Slc16a1IKO female mice only had increased *** of intestinal MCT1 in male mice was associated with downregulation of pro-inflammatory pathways,together with decreased circulating levels of inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNFα)and C-C motif chemokine ligand 2(CCL2).Lactate had a stimulatory effect on pro-inflammatory macrophages in *** number of intestinal macrophages was reduced in Slc16a1IKO male mice in *** deletion of Slc16a1 in male mice reduced interstitial lactate level in the *** addition,treatment of male mice with estrogen lowered interstitial lactate level in the intestine and abolished the difference in glucose homeostasis between Slc16a1IKO and wild-type *** of intestinal MCT1 also blocked the transport of lactate and short-chain fatty acids from the intestine to the portal *** effect of Slc16a1 deletion on glucose homeostasis in male mice was partly mediated by alterations in gut *** conclusion,our work reveals that intestinal MCT1 regulates glucose homeostasis in a sex-dependent manner.

改革开放以来,中国农村社会研究取得了较大进展,并已形成了具有本土特色的一些研究问题和基本取向。系统梳理国内关于农村社会研究的主要进展,可以概括出三个具有代表性的研究取向,即学术取向、现实问题取向和政策取向,这三个主要研究取向在基本目标、价值倾向、研究者的角色定位和主要特征等方面存在明显差异。这些研究取向也存在着需要进行反思的问题,包括偏重于本土性问题、过于经验化、碎片化。为克服存在的这些问题,就需要注重发掘和利用自身的话语资源提高学科自信,实现理论上的创新发展;注重经验研究积累与理论创新的有机结合,超越经验描述的局限性;加强理论与实践相结合,促进本土特色的农村社会研究新发展。

orecast of peak infection and estimate of excess deaths in COVID-19 transmission and prevalence in Taiyuan City,2022 to 2023

In this paper,with the method of epidemic dynamics,we assess the spread and prevalence of COVID-19 after the policy adjustment of prevention and control measure in December 2022 in Taiyuan City in China,and estimate the excess population deaths caused by *** on the transmission mechanism of COVID-19 among individuals,a dynamic model with heterogeneous contacts is established to describe the change of control measures and the population's social behavior in Taiyuan *** model is verified and simulated by basing on reported case data from November 8th to December 5th,2022 in Taiyuan city and the statistical data of the questionnaire survey from December 1st to 23rd,2022 in Neijiang *** with reported numbers of permanent residents and deaths from 2017 to 2021 in Taiyuan city,we apply the dynamic model to estimate theoretical population of 2022 under the assumption that there is no effect of *** addition,we carry out sensitivity analysis to determine the propagation character of the Omicron strain and the effect of the control *** a result of the study,it is concluded that after adjusting the epidemic policy on December 6th,2022,three peaks of infection in Taiyuan are estimated to be from December 22nd to 31st,2022,from May 10th to june 1st,2023,and from September 5th to October 13th,2023,and the corresponding daily peaks of new cases can reach 400000,44000 and 22000,*** the end of 2022,excess deaths can range from 887 to 4887,and excess mortality rate can range from 3.06%to 14.82%.The threshold of the infectivity of the COVID-19 variant is estimated 0.0353,that is if the strain infectivity is above it,the epidemic cannot be control with the previous normalization measures.

Comparison of Lumbopelvic-Hip Rotation Asymmetry and Pelvic Asymmetry between Individuals with and without Nonspecific Low Back Pain

Background: low back pain affects many individuals, with 80% classified as non-specific low back pain (NSLBP) due to mechanical rather than structural issues. The link between pelvic alignment and lumbopelvic-hip rotation movement for NSLBP is controversial. Methods: twenty males with NSLBP and 20 healthy males participated. Data collected included static pelvic asymmetry and active lumbopelvic-hip rotation with motion capture system for kinematic analysis. Results: Unpaired T test was used to compare the difference of kinematic parameters between two groups. NSLBP group showed significantly larger angles between the ASIS-PSIS line and the z-axis (p Conclusion: Evaluations focusing on bone structure alone may be inadequate. A more comprehensive approach including functional assessments like muscle strength and range of motion could be beneficial. Integrating lumbopelvic-hip movement patterns and pelvic symmetry into clinical assessments should be considered, as they may be influenced by physical activity.

Ordered mesoporous nanofibers mimicking vascular bundles for lithium metal batteries

Hierarchical self-assembly with long-range order above centimeters widely exists in nature. Mimicking similar structures to promote reaction kinetics of electrochemical energy devices is of immense interest, yet remains challenging. Here, we report a bottom-up self-assembly approach to constructing ordered mesoporous nanofibers with a structure resembling vascular bundles via electrospinning. The synthesis involves self-assembling polystyrene（PS） homopolymer, amphiphilic diblock copolymer, and precursors into supramolecular micelles. Elongational dynamics of viscoelastic micelle solution together with fast solvent evaporation during electrospinning cause simultaneous close packing and uniaxial stretching of micelles, consequently producing polymer nanofibers consisting of oriented micelles. The method is versatile for the fabrication of large-scale ordered mesoporous nanofibers with adjustable pore diameter and various compositions such as carbon, SiO2, TiO2and WO3. The aligned longitudinal mesopores connected side-by-side by tiny pores offer highly exposed active sites and expedite electron/ion transport. The assembled electrodes deliver outstanding performance for lithium metal batteries.

Textual research on Xu Chunfu's life

Xu Chunfu was a famous medical expert in the Ming Dynasty, who authored the Gu Jin Yi Tong Da Quan and the Yi Xue Zhi Nan Jie Jing Liu Shu. This paper uses the Xu family genealogy, literature catalog, historical records to study the Xu family’s life and deeds. Xu Chunfu was born in the second year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1523) and passed away in the 24th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1596). He served as an official in the Tai Hospital for about 20 years. His work Gu Jin Yi Tong Da Quan was written around the 43rd year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1556), with a lower limit of the fifth year of the Longqing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1571), and the initial engraving time was not earlier than the eighth year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1580). This paper corrects the shortcomings and errors in previous research, and provides a comprehensive and systematic examination of Xu Chunfu’s life and works.
