Electroacupuncture(EA) is an effective pain-relief therapy by administrating pulsating electrical current to acupuncture needles for acupoint stimulation.Many supraspinal structures,including the anterior cingulated cortex(ACC),are involved in the underlying mechanism of EA’s analgesia effect on neuropathic pain.The extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase1/2(ERK1/2) in the ACC plays an important role in the regulating the affective dimension of chronic neuropathic pain.In the present study,we examined the effect of Electroacupuncture stimulation of "zusanli" and "yanglingquan" on chronic constrictive injury(CCI)-induced pain and depression in rats.We also investigated the change of the activation of ERK1/2 in the ACC in CCI rats with EA treatment.Our data showed that regular and persistent EA treatment in the early phase of CCI(from day 1 to day 14 after CCI) in rats is an effective therapeautic strategy for the relief of pain-related hyperalgesia and depression.EA treatment in the early phase blocked the CCI-induced activation of ERK1/2 in the ACC.EA’s regulation of ERK1/2 activation in the ACC may contribute to its anti-depression effect on CCI rats.

Argonaute（AGO） proteins play a key role in regulation of gene expression through small RNA‐directed RNA cleavage and translational repression, and are essential for multiple developmental processes. In the present study, 17 AGO genes of maize（Zea mays L., ZmAGOs） were identified using a Hidden Markov Model and validated by rapid amplification of cDNA ends assay. Subsequently, quantitative PCR revealed that expressions of these genes were higher in reproductive than in vegetative tissues. AGOs presented five temporal and spatial expression patterns, which were likely modulated by DNA methylation, 50‐untranslated exons and microRNA‐mediated feedback loops. Intriguingly, ZmAGO18 b was highly expressed in tassels during meiosis. Furthermore, in situ hybridization and immunofluorescence showed that ZmAResearchGO18b was enriched in the tapetum and germ cells in meiotic anthers. We hypothesized that ZmAGOs are highly expressed in reproductive tissues, and that ZmAGO18 b is a tapetum and germ cell‐specific member of the AGO family in maize.

This paper proposes a new criterion called the ratio of safety margin(RSM)for use in the areas of the global factor of safety,reliability and limit states analyses with reference to their respective allowable criteria.An equation for calculating RSM based on the reliability index is formulated.Efforts for proving the applicability of this criterion include a theoretical demonstration in a simple one-variable case;an investigation on a test problem involving two random variables,followed by a slope stability study on a 156 m high embankment dam and an illustrative example presented in a EuroCode 7 guidebook.Calculation of the ratios of safety margin in the three areas provides a quantitative way to accommodate the analytical results within the same theoretical framework and makes the outcomes mutually comparable and supportive,which is much more enlightening than that would be the case by considering only one of them.Calculating RSMs for reliability and limit states methods has also helped solve the key issue concerning the uniqueness of the partial factors calibrated from a particular‘target case’.

Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) was applied to detect the intracellular [Ca2+] variety of fluorescent intension, with Fluo-3/AM fluorescence loaded in SFSMC. The results show that 10 μmol/L Lacidipine can reduce the frequence which 10 μmol/L 5-HT induced [Ca2+] spark in SFSMC of calcium over loading to 50%, and amplitude to 50% or so. We can draw a conclusion that dihydropyridines cal-cium antagonists lacidipine can antagonize the release of intracellular [Ca2+] which 5-HT-induced in dose dependent manner.

为促进香稻育种,明确水稻重要种质资源中香味基因的存在情况,本研究将传统香味鉴定方法(KOH浸泡法)与分子标记技术相结合,对48份水稻骨干材料的香味及香味基因Badh2变异类型进行鉴定。结果表明,在48份供试材料中,利用KOH浸泡法检测到具有香味的材料有44份;利用香味基因Badh2的7种等位基因变异类型功能标记检测到含有香味的材料有43份,其中,有41份为纯合香型,2份为杂合型,等位基因Badh2-E2的变异类型有37份,等位基因Badh2-E7的变异类型有6份,未检测到等位基因Badh2-E4-5、Badh2-E12、Badh2-E13、Badh2-UTR和Badh2-Pro的变异类型。通过比较KOH浸泡法与分子标记技术,发现仅有1份材料检测结果不同,明水香稻(X23)用KOH浸泡法检测出具有香味,但本研究所用的Badh2的7种等位基因变异类型功能标记却未检测出含有香味,说明该材料可能属于Badh2其他已报道的或新的等位基因变异类型,也可能是含有新的香味基因。

The addition of Pb in the superconductors of BiSrCaCuO system is very helpful for growth of the high-Tc phase (Tc 110K). We prepared a series of samples with nominal composition of Bi2-xPbxSr2Ca2Cu3Oy (0.1&lex&le2). The zero resistance transition temperature Tc of 106K and the critical transport current density Jc of 1 × 103A/cm2 at 77K have been obtained for the samples of Bi2-xPbxSr2Ca2Cu3Oy (x=0.2 and 0.3). The X-ray diffraction analysis and measurement of AC magnetic susceptibility confirmed that the material is comprised of single high-Tc phase. We also report the magnetic properties of this material as well as the results of TEM observation.

Degradability of biodegradable plastic films and its mulching effects on soil temperature and maize yield in northeastern China

Plastic film is an important resource in agricultural production,but it takes hundreds of years to degrade completely in natural environment.The large-scale use of plastic film will inevitably lead to serious environmental pollution.One way to solve the problem is to develop a substitutable mulching film,such as a biodegradable film that can ultimately be decomposed to water,carbon dioxide,and soil organic matter by micro-organisms.In this study,a 2-year experiment was conducted to determine the degradation properties of a biodegradable plastic film,including degradation rate,surface microstructure,tensile strength and elongation at break,and the effects of different mulching treatments on soil temperature and maize yield.The mulching experiment was conducted with three different biodegradable plastic films with different degradation rates,using a common plastic film and a non-mulched treatment as control.With the addition of the additives for degradation in the biodegradable plastic films,the degradation rates increased significantly,which were 7.2%-17.8%in 2017 and 18.1%-35.2%in 2018 after maize harvesting.However,the degradation occurred mainly on the ridge side.The decrease in tensile strength and elongation was proportional to the degradation rate of the degradable film.The SEM results indicated that the surface microstructures of the biodegradable films were loose and heterogeneous after maize harvesting.Biodegradable plastic film mulching increased the soil temperature at soil depths of 5 cm,15 cm,and 25 cm,over the maize’s entire growth period,by 3.1℃-3.2℃ in 2017 and 1.2℃-2.1℃ in 2018 compared with the non-mulched treatment.The biodegradable plastic film increased the maize yield by 10.4%-14.3%in 2017 and 11.6%-24.7%in 2018.The soil temperature and maize yield increases were statistically significant;however,with respect to maize qualities,there were no statistically significant increases among the five treatments.This study shows that biodegradable plastic film can be used as a substitute for common pla

Background In the new International League Against Epilepsy(ILAE)classification of seizure types,generalized seizures such as absence seizures(ASs)may originate from a focal point and rapidly spread to the bilaterally distributed brain network.Increasing evidence from animal and clinical studies has indicated that focal changes may occur prior to ASs;however,the relationship of ASs with epileptogenic lesions remains unclear.Methods We retrospectively collected and analyzed the clinical,imaging,and electrophysiological data of 16 patients who had ASs and structural lesions with seizure-free outcomes after lesion resection.Results In semiology analysis,nine patients displayed focal onset;only two patients showed simple ASs,and seizure types other than ASs were observed in the remaining patients.On ictal electroencephalography(EEG),four patients showed bilateral synchronous symmetric 3 Hz generalized spike-wave discharges(GSWDs),and the remaining patients showed bilateral 1.5–2.5 Hz GSWDs.Moreover,most patients(13/16,81.3%)exhibited focal features in addition to ASs,while interictal EEG was the same in 12 patients.Furthermore,on stereoelectroencephalogram(SEEG),2/5 patients showed focal discharges before bilateral burst GSWDs.Additionally,all patients had structural lesions on imaging.In four typical AS patients,the lesions were located in deep brain regions.Notably,in 9 patients(9/16,56%),the lesions were located in the posterior cortex.All patients underwent lesion resection and had seizure-free outcomes during follow-up,and intelligence quotient(IQ)also improved by 10.71±3.90 one year after surgery.Conclusions Patients with lesion-related epilepsy may present with ASs that have a focal onset and are associated with good surgical outcomes.

To examine the possible correlation of aberrant Wnt signaling and pathological changes in Alzheimer’s disease, we established a rat model of Alzheimer’s disease and measured axin and β-catenin expression in the hippocampus. Rats were pretreated with moxibustion or electroacu-puncture, or both, at Baihui（GV20） and Shenshu（BL23）. Axin expression was lower, β-catenin expression was greater, and neuronal cytoplasmic edema was visibly prevented in the rats that had received the pretreatments. Our results suggest that the mechanism underlying the neuro-protective effect of acupuncture and moxibustion in Alzheimer’s disease is associated with axin and β-catenin expression in the Wnt signal transduction pathway.
