Ischemic cerebrovascular disease is a leading cause of death globally and is often exacerbated by cerebral ischemic/reperfusion injury(CIRI).The exact mechanisms underlying I/R injury are *** this study,we aimed to determine the role of m6A-modified methylase complex methyltransferase-like 3(METTL3)in cerebral ischemiareperfusion(I/R)*** found that m6A and METTL3 levels increased in OGD/RX-induced mouse astrocytescerebellar(MA-C)and the brain of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)model ***3 siRNA treatment reduced OGD-RX-induced MAC cell viability and proliferation,which increased with METTL3 *** cytometry analysis showed that silencing METTL3 significantly enhanced OGD/RX-induced MAC apoptosis,which was significantly reduced with METTL3 *** an MCAO model,METTL3 overexpression significantly reduced cerebral infarction area and decreased brain cell apoptosis,indicating that METTL3 OE treatment could ameliorate brain edema and ***,METTL3 could be used as a target to treat I/R injury.

In order to develop agents with superior chemopreventive and chemotherapeutic properties against hepatocellular carcinomas, mitochondria-targeted hydroxycinnamic acids(Mito HCAs) were synthesized by conjugation with a triphenylphosphonium cation. These synthetic compounds were evaluated for their antioxidant activities in hepatic mitochondria, including against OH? àand ROO? àinduced lipid peroxidation. H_2O_2 production was decreased significantly by increasing glutathione peroxidase and catalase activities. In addition, cell proliferation data from three cell lines(HepG2, L02 and WI38) indicated that the Mito HCAs were selective for cancer cells. Interestingly, the Mito HCAs both with or without Ca^(2+)triggered mitochondrial dysfunction by inducing mitochondrial swelling, collapsing the mitochondrial membrane potential and causing cytochrome c release. In particular, an inhibitor of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore(m PTP), cyclosporin A, attenuated mitochondrial damage and cell apoptosis, indicating that m PTP may be involved in the antiproliferative activity of Mito *** studies focused on structural optimization of these compounds are onging.

STRUCTURE DESIGN OF THE BEIJING SPECTROMETERⅢBEAM PIPE

The Beijing spectrometer Ⅲ （BESⅢ） beam pipe is in the center of the BESⅢ, which is the detector of the upgrade project of Beijing electron and positron collider （BEPC Ⅱ）. Electrons and positrons collide in the BESⅢ beam pipe. According to the demands of the BEPC Ⅱ, a key program of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the BESⅢ beam pipe is designed based on the finite elements analysis. The BESIII beam pipe is installed in the inner cylinder of the BESⅢ drift chamber. As a vacuum tube, the BESIII beam pipe is designed as 1 000 mm in length, 63 mm in inner diameter and 114 mm in outer diameter, respectively. The BESIII beam pipe consists of a central beryllium pipe cooled by EDM-1, the oil No.1 for electric discharge machining, and two extended copper pipes cooled by deionized water （DW）. The three parts are jointed by vacuum welding. Factors taken into account in the design are as follows. ① The wall thickness of the central beryllium pipe should be designed as small as possible to reduce the multi-scattering and improve the particle momentum resolution. And the wall thickness of the extended copper pipe should be designed as large as possible to protect the detectors from the backgrounds. ②The BESⅢ beam pipe must be sufficiently cooled to avoid the damage and prevents its influence to the BESⅢ drift chamber （DC） operation. The inner surface temperature of the DC inner cylinder must be maintained at 293±2 K. ③ The magnetic permeability of the materials used in the BESⅢ beam pipe must be less than 1.05 H/m to avoid large magnetic field distortions. ④ The static pressure of the vacuum chamber of the BESⅢ beam pipe must be less than 800 μPa. The simulating results show that the designed structure of the BESⅢ beam pipe satisfies the requirements mentioned above. The structure design scheme is evaluated and adonted hv the headouarters of BEPCⅡ.

The variable-included angle plane-grating monochromator is a homemade key equipment of the scanning transmission X-ray microscopy (STXM) beamline at Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF).Monochromatic light of various wavelengths is achieved by an effective control system that handles the rotation of the plane mirror and plane grating mounted in a high vacuum *** made by PI *** used as motion stage which has a DC servo motor controlled by a C862 controller based on RS232 *** software platform of STXM is EPICS,so the local control functions are implemented by LabVIEW program to satisfy physics *** the remote control functions,the program is integrated into EPICS with *** tests show that the repeat precision of motion control is less than 0.2μm,which meets the control demand.

Thermal energy storage (TES)has the potential to facilitate the deployment of renewable energy through addressing the demand-supply mismatch,ultimately leading to the decarbonisation of heat supply. Among the TES technologies,latent heat based TES with composite phase change materials (PCMs)has shown great potential,which has attracted significant attention in recent ***,large scale and reliable manufacturing methods for composite PCMs are still largely ***,we present a study aimed to develop,for the first time,an extrusion process capable of fabricating high density polyethylene based graphite PCM composites at a high throughput and with enhanced thermal *** PCM composites were fabricated under different extrusion process parameters and characterized for their thermo-physical properties by multiple techniques including differential scanning calorimetry,thermal gravitational analyzer,and Fourier transform infrared *** results show that the extrusion process has the potential to fabricate PCM composite bars in a continuous fashion with a manufacturing throughput higher than traditional method;the fabricated PCM composites show enhanced properties (*** to +70% increase in thermal diffusivity);and there is a clear link between extrusion process parameters and PCMs *** analyses show a more homogeneous structure with a lower extrusion speed;whereas a high extrusion speed gives a more microscopically heterogeneous structure with visible graphite agglomerates distributed relatively homogeneous macroscopically;and a higher graphite content gives a larger agglomerate *** results of this work suggest that the elucidation of composition-process-property relationships is crucial:for a given formulation (composition), only through fine tuning of high throughput manufacturing process can make it possible to achieve the desired performance of the PCM composites.

Propolis is an important functional food with numerous biological properties, such as anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, and immune regulation. However, there are few studies on the effects of propolis on aging-induced muscle atrophy. Here, we aimed to determine whether propolis exerts protective effects against muscle damage caused by D-galactose (D-gal)-induced aging in mice. Propolis was found to ameliorate the morphological alterations generated by D-gal in muscle fibers and considerably increase their cross-sectional area and diameter;ameliorate muscle oxidative stress by boosting Nrf2 and HO-1 expression and Nrf2 nuclear translocation;reduce apoptosis in muscle cells by dramatically increasing Bcl2 expression and decreasing Bax expression;and significantly decreased the level of MAFbx and MuRF1, thus inhibiting skeletal muscle proteolysis. Metabonomic studies showed that propolis can promote protein metabolism and reduce oxidative stress in skeletal muscle. Propolis may reduce prostaglandin and estriol levels by increasing the blood supply to aging skeletal muscles and reducing the lipid peroxide tablets. Propolis may inhibit skeletal muscle cell apoptosis by suppressing isoprenaline metabolism in skeletal muscle, thus playing a role in anti-skeletal muscle aging. Propolis delays skeletal muscle aging by reducing oxidative stress, inhibiting apoptosis, and regulating muscle protein metabolism.

The crystal phases are essential to the physicochemical properties and functionalities of *** selenide has emerged as an important and appealing semiconductor,which can exist in a variety of polymorphic ***,the richness of polymorphs also makes it a challenge to the direct preparation of copper selenide nanocrystals with tunable ***,two polymorphs,that is,quasitetragonal Cu2−xSe nanocubes and metastable wurtzite Cu2Se nanodisks,are successfully synthesized by using a single precursor,copper(I)selenocyanate(CuSeCN),as the Cu and Se *** key to phase modulation is the optimal choice of the ligand in the *** as‐prepared nanocrystals possess different morphologies and compositions,giving rise to distinct optical properties and electrical ***,the copper selenide nanocrystals can provide a platform for the rational construction of two types of amorphous hollow Au─Cu─Se nanostructures by reaction with Au(I)precursor,in which their final shapes are well kept as that of the original nanocrystal *** work provides an easy strategy for the phase‐controlled synthesis of copper selenide nanocrystals and enables the design of new materials for broad applications.

A dynamic modeling framework based on an intelligent approach is proposed to identify the complex behaviors of solid-gas sorption *** experimental system was built and tested to assist in developing a model of the system performance during the adsorption and desorption *** variations in the thermal effects and gaseous environment accompanying the reactions were considered when designing the *** optimization platform based on a multi-population genetic algorithm and artificial criteria was established to identify the mod-eling coefficients and quantify the effects of condition changes on the *** calibration of the simulation results against the tested data showed good accuracy,where the coefficient of determination was greater than *** outcome of this study could provide a modeling basis for the optimization of solid-gas sorption systems and contribute a potential tool for uncovering key characteristics associated with materials and components.

Physical and chemical processes observed in the mesosphere and thermosphere above the Earth’s low latitudes are complex and highly interrelated to activity in the low-latitude *** sodium detected by lidar can yield clues to dynamic and chemical processes in these spatial layers above the Earth’s *** paper is based on sodium layer data collected at two low-latitude stations,one in the northern hemisphere and one in the *** low-latitude sodium layer exhibits conspicuous seasonal variations in shape,density,and altitude;these variations are similar between Earth’s hemispheres:sodium layer density at both stations reaches its seasonal maximum in autumn and minimum in ***,maximal Na density over Brazil is greater than that over *** variations of Na density above the two low-latitude stations are also similar;at both,maxima are observed before *** variations of the Na layer over Brazil that differ from those observed in the northern hemisphere may be related to the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly(SAMA)or fountain *** suggest that low-latitude Na layer data may provide useful additional evidence that could significantly improve the low-latitude part of the WACCM-Na model.
