Duloxe.ine.DUL), an antide.re.sant drug, has be.n de.e.te. in surface.wate. and waste.ate. e.flue.ts, howe.e., the.e.is little.information on the.formation of its transformation products(TPs). In this work, hydrolysis, photode.radation(UV irradiation) and chlorination e.pe.ime.ts we.e.pe.forme. on spike. distillate. wate., unde. controlle. e.pe.ime.tal conditions to simulate.abiotic proce.se. that can occur in the.e.vironme.t and waste.ate. tre.tme.t plants(WWTPs). e.e.e. TPs, nine.from re.ction with UV light and two from chlorine.contact, we.e.forme. and de.e.te. by ultra-high pe.formance.liquid chromatography couple. to quadrupole.time.of-flight mass spe.trome.ry, and nine.of the. had the.r che.ical structure. e.ucidate. upon analyse. of the.r fragme.tation patte.ns in MS/MS spe.tra. The.formation and de.radation of the.TPs we.e.obse.ve.. The.pare.t compound was comple.e.y de.rade. afte.30 min in photode.radation and afte. 24 hr in chlorination. Almost all TPs we.e.comple.e.y de.rade. in the.e.pe.ime.ts. The.e.otoxicity and mutage.icity of the.TPs we.e.pre.icte. base. on se.e.al in silico mode.s and it was found that a fe. of the.e.products pre.e.te. more.e.otoxicity than DUL itse.f and six TPs showe. positive.mutage.icity. Finally, waste.ate. sample. we.e.analyze. and DUL and one.TP, possibly forme. by chlorination proce.s, we.e.de.e.te. in the.e.flue.t, which showe. that WWTP not only did not re.ove.DUL, but also forme. a TP.

Obje.tive. The.aim of this study was to de.e.mine.body composition, gyne.ological, and obste.ric data, se. hormone., and prolactin se.um le.e.s in pre. (PRe.) and postme.opausal wome. (PMW) with bre.st cance. (BC) and compare.the. with a control group (CG) of he.lthy wome.. Me.hodology: BC patie.ts without tre.tme.t or use.of hormone.re.lace.e.t the.apy, or hormonal birth control, and without data of me.astasis we.e.include.. CG was matche. for age. BMI, and me.strual cycle.status. FSH, LH, e.sup>2, proge.te.one. te.toste.one. and prolactin (PRL) we.e.me.sure. using radioimmunoassay kits. Comparisons be.we.n BC and CG we.e.made.with “t” te.ts, and with the.Mann-Whitne. U-te.t;χ2 te.t was use. to compare.the.qualitative.variable. be.we.n the.groups. Re.ults: Se.e.ty-two patie.ts with BC, and 74 CG wome. we.e.e.aluate.. Both groups pre.e.te. ove.we.ght data, BMI (kg/mt2) = 27.21 ± 5.51 vs. 28.40 ± 4.66, p = ns, for BC patie.ts and CG, re.pe.tive.y. In PRe., the.age.at me.arche.was late. in BC patie.ts compare. to the.CG (13.3 ± 1.36 ye.rs vs. 12.41 ± 1.27 ye.rs, p = 0.005). The.PMW with BC pre.e.te. a highe. age.at me.arche.and me.opause.compare. to the.wome. of the.CG (13.51 ± 1.48 vs. 12.91 ± 1.41, p = 0.09, and 49.03 ± 2.86 vs. 45.5 ± 8.78, p = 0.03, re.pe.tive.y). PRL le.e.s we.e.significantly highe. in PMW with BC, in comparison with the.CG;me.ian and minimum and maximum value. (min-max) we.e. 14.7 ng/mL (3.6 - 52.7) vs. 5.9 ng/mL (1.9 - 33.3), p = 0.005). A highe. pe.ce.tage.of PMW with BC (26.0% vs. 7.1%, χ2 = 5.57, p = 0.01) pre.e.te. hype.prolactine.ia (PRL se.um le.e.s > 20 ng/mL), compare. to the.GC. Conclusions: The.highe. le.e.s of PRL in PMW with BC compare. with CG, sugge.t a prolife.ative.e.fe.t of this hormone.in the.affe.te. bre.st tissue. This study de.onstrate. the.ne.d to use.biological marke.s such as PRL to de.e.mine.the.risk of BC in PMW.
