Flexible ureteroscopic treatment of kidney stones: How do the new laser systems change our concepts?

Objective: Flexible ureteroscopy (fURS) has become a widely accepted and effective technique for treating kidney stones. With the development of new laser systems, the fURS approach has evolved significantly. This literature review aims to examine the current state of knowledge on fURS treatment of kidney stones, with a particular focus on the impact of the latest laser technologies on clinical outcomes and patient safety.Methods: We conducted a search of the PubMed/PMC, Web of Science Core Collection, Scopus, Embase (Ovid), and Cochrane Databases for all randomized controlled trial articles on laser lithotripsy in September 2023 without time restriction.Results: We found a total of 22 relevant pieces of literature. Holmium laser has been used for intracavitary laser lithotripsy for nearly 30 years and has become the golden standard for the treatment of urinary stones. However, the existing holmium laser cannot completely powder the stone, and the retropulsion of the stone after the laser emission and the thermal damage to the tissue have caused many problems for clinicians. The introduction of thulium fiber laser and Moses technology brings highly efficient dusting lithotripsy effect through laser innovation, limiting pulse energy and broadening pulse frequency.Conclusion: While the holmium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser remains the primary choice for endoscopic laser lithotripsy, recent technological advancements hint at a potential new gold standard. Parameter range, retropulsion effect, laser fiber adaptability, and overall system performance demand comprehensive attention. The ablation efficacy of high-pulse-frequency devices relies on precise targeting, which may pose practical challenges.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)have become a hotspot for electrochemical energy storage owing to the high safety,low cost,environmental friendliness,and favorable rate performance.However,the serious dissolution of cathode materials in aqueous electrolytes would lead to poor cyclability,which should be addressed before commercialization.Herein,we designed a Ti-doped V_(2)O_(5) with yolk-shell microspherical structure for AZIBs.The Ti doping stabilizes the crystal structure and relieves the dissolution of V_(2)O_(5) in aqueous ZnSO_(4) electrolyte.The optimized sample,Ti_(0.2)V_(1.8)O_(4.9),delivers a high capacity(355 mAh/g at 0.05 A/g)as well as good capacity retention(89%after 2500 cycles at 1.0 A/g).This work provides an effective strategy to mitigate the dissolution of cathode material in aqueous ZnSO_(4) electrolyte for cyclability enhancement.

Prostate cancer(PCa)is one of the most common malignancies in males worldwide,and its development and progression involve the regulation of multiple metabolic pathways.Alterations in lipid metabolism affect the proliferation and metastatic capabilities of PCa cells.Cancer cells increase lipid synthesis and regulate fatty acid oxidation to meet their growth and energy demands.Similarly,changes occur in amino acid metabolism in PCa.Cancer cells exhibit an increased demand for specific amino acids,and they regulate amino acid transport and metabolic pathways to fulfill their proliferation and survival requirements.These changes are closely associated with disease progression and treatment response in PCa cells.Therefore,a comprehensive investigation of the metabolic characteristics of PCa is expected to offer novel insights and approaches for the early diagnosis and treatment of this disease.

An Adaptive Program Recommendation System for Multi-User Sharing Environment

More and more accounts or devices are shared by multiple users in video applications,which makes it difficult to provide recommendation service.Existing recommendation schemes overlook multiuser sharing scenarios,and they cannot make effective use of the mixed information generated by multi-user when exploring users’potential interests.To solve these problems,this paper proposes an adaptive program recommendation system for multi-user sharing environment.Specifically,we first design an offline periodic identification module by building multi-user features and periodically predicting target user in future sessions,which can separate the profile of target user from mixed log records.Subsequently,an online recommendation module with adaptive timevarying exploration strategy is constructed by jointly using personal information and multi-user social information provided by identification module.On one hand,to learn the dynamic changes in user-interest,a time-varying linear upper confidence bound(LinUCB)based on personal information is designed.On the other hand,to reduce the risk of exploration,a timeinvariant LinUCB based on separated multi-user social information from one account/device is proposed to compute the quality scores of programs for each user,which is integrated into the time-varying LinUCB by cross-weighting strategy.Finally,experimental results validate the efficiency of the proposed scheme.

Due to unique photo-physical characteristics,rare earth(RE)complexes play important roles in many fields,for example,telecommunications,life science,and organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs).Especially,thanks to narrow emission bandwidth and 100%theoretical internal quantum efficiency(IQE),the study of RE complexes in the electroluminescence field has been a hot research topic in recent 30 years.As a leading technology in solid-state light source fields,OLEDs have attracted great interest from academic researchers and commercial endeavors.In the last decades,OLED-based products have trickled into the commercial market and developed quickly into portable display devices.Here,we briefly introduce the luminescent characteristics and electroluminescent(EL)study of RE complexes in material synthesis and device design.Moreover,we emphatically reveal the innovative application of RE complexes as sensitizers in OLEDs.Through experimental validation,the application of RE complexes as sensitizers can realize the complementary advantages of RE complexes and transition metal complexes,leading to significantly improved performances of OLEDs.The application of RE complexes as sensitizers provides a new strategy for designing and developing novel high performances OLEDs.

A lead-shielded HPGe detector and offlineγ-ray spectra of the residual product were used to measure the cross section(CS)and ratios of isomeric CS(σm/σg)in^(134)Xe(n,2n)^(133m),gXe reactions at different energies(13.5 MeV,13.8 MeV,14.1 MeV,14.4 MeV,14.8 MeV)relative to the^(93)Nb(n,2n)^(92)mNb reaction CS.The target was high-purity natural Xe gas under high pressure.The T(d,n)4He reaction produces neutrons.TALYS code(version 1.95)for nuclear reactions was used for calculations,with default parameters and nuclear level density models.The uncertainties in the measured CS data were thoroughly analyzed using the covariance analysis method.The results were compared with theoretical values,evaluation data,and previous experimental findings.CS data of the 134Xe(n,2n)133mXe and 134Xe(n,2n)133gXe reactions and the corresponding isomeric CS ratios at 13.5 MeV,13.8 MeV,and 14.1 MeV neutron energies are reported for the first time.This research advances our knowledge of pre-equilibrium emission in the(n,2n)reaction channel by resolving inconsistencies in the Xe data.

Massive content delivery will become one of the most prominent tasks of future B5G/6G communication.However,various multimedia applications possess huge differences in terms of object oriented(i.e.,machine or user)and corresponding quality evaluation metric,which will significantly impact the design of encoding or decoding within content delivery strategy.To get over this dilemma,we firstly integrate the digital twin into the edge networks to accurately and timely capture Quality-of-Decision(QoD)or Quality-of-Experience(QoE)for the guidance of content delivery.Then,in terms of machinecentric communication,a QoD-driven compression mechanism is designed for video analytics via temporally lightweight frame classification and spatially uneven quality assignment,which can achieve a balance among decision-making,delivered content,and encoding latency.Finally,in terms of user-centric communication,by fully leveraging haptic physical properties and semantic correlations of heterogeneous streams,we develop a QoE-driven video enhancement scheme to supply high data fidelity.Numerical results demonstrate the remarkable performance improvement of massive content delivery.

BACKGROUND Kawasaki disease(KD) is a self-limiting febrile illness and an acute vasculitis with an unknown origin.It predominantly affects children aged zhou First People’s Hospital with coronary artery abnormality identified for 1 wk.The patient was asymptomatic;however,chest computed tomography occasionally revealed strip-like dense shadows in the coronal sulcus.After coronary angiography and Doppler echocardiography,the final diagnosis was coronary artery aneurysms(CAAs) caused by KD.Although the patient was asymptomatic with no history of KD in childhood,the definitive diagnosis was CAAs caused by KD.The patient was administered anticoagulant,and surgical treatment was recommended.CONCLUSION KD potentially causes CAAs in 25% of untreated cases,primarily occurring in the proximal portions of the coronary arteries.

This paper employs system dynamics to explore how the synergy between technology management and technological capability affects new product development.The results show that the synergy between technology management and technological capability has positive impact on new product development.Moreover, the leading synergy processes between technology management and technological capability in different new product development stages are different.This paper deepens the theoretical understanding of how to achieve new product development, and also provides useful guidance for firms to implement new product development.
