This paper presents a superhydrophobic melamine(ME)sponge(ME-g-PLMA)prepared via high-energy radiation-induced in situ covalent grafting of long-alkyl-chain dodecyl methacrylate(LMA)onto an ME sponge for efficient oil–water *** obtained ME-g-PLMA sponge had an excellent pore structure with superhydrophobic(water contact angle of 154°)and superoleophili. *** can absorb various types of oils up to 66–168 times its *** ME-g-PLMA sponge can continuously separate oil sli.ks in water by connecting a pump or separating oil underwater with a gravity-driven *** addition,it maintained its highly hydrophobic properties even after long-term immersion in different corrosive solutions and repeated oil *** modified ME-g-PLMA sponge exhibited excellent separation properties and potential for oil spill cleanup.

Layered rare-earth hydroxides(LREHs) draw wide research interest because of their peculi.r crystal structure,rich interlayer chemistry and abundant functionali.y of the RE element,but are li.ited to the two categories of RE_(2)(OH)_(5)A·nH_(2)O(A:typical of Cl^(-)or NO_(3)^(-)) and RE_(2)(OH)_(4)SO_(4)·nH_(2)*** the other hand,rare-earth oxysulfates(RE_(2)O_(2)SO_(4)) have attracted attention due to their properties of large-capacity oxygen storage,low-temperature magnetism and luminescence,but their preparation procedure mostly involves toxic SO_(x) gases and/or compli.ated *** this work,RE_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)SO_(4)·nH_(2)O as a new family of LREHs(RE=Gd-Lu lanthanides and Y) were produced via hydrothermal reaction,from which phase-pure RE_(2)O_(2)SO_(4) was derived via subsequent anneali.g at 800℃ in air without the involvement of SO_(x),The compounds were thoroughly characterized to reveal the intrinsic influence of lanthanide contraction(RE^(3+) radius) on crystal structure,thermal behavior(dehydroxylation/decarbonation/desulfurization),vibrational property and crystalli.e *** analyzing the photoluminescence of Eu^(3+) and Sm^(3+)in the Gd_(2)O_(2)SO_(4) typical host it is found that the 617 nm(Eu^(3+),λ_(ex)=275 nm) and 608 nm(Sm^(3+),λ_(ex)=407 nm) main emissions can retain as high as ^(7)9.6% and 85.5%of their room-temperature intensities at 423 K,with activation energies of ~0.19 and 0.21 eV for thermal quenching,*** also indicates that both the phosphors have the potential for optical temperature sensing via the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR) technology,whose maximum relative sensitivity reaches -2.70%/K for Eu^(3+)and 1.73%/K for Sm^(3+) at 298 K.

Oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is the imperative reaction for many energy storage and conversion devices such as recharge-able metal-air batteries and electrochemical water spli.ting[1].OER is a complex 4-electron process with sluggish kinetics and therefore requires electrocatalysts to overcome the high *** oxide(RuO_(2))and iridium oxide(IrO_(2))catalysts can promote the OER process remarkably[2-4],however,their ex-tremely high cost,natural scarcity,and long-term instabili.y con-strain their scale-up appli.ation in clean-energy technologies[5,6].It is crucial to develop inexpensive,highly efficient,and durable electrocatalysts for OER.

Joining dissimilar Mg/Cu alloys was still an intractable problem because of the excessive intermetalli. compounds(IMCs)and poor mechanical properties using conventional welding *** the present study,friction stir welding was employed for the butt joining of dissimilar AZ31B Mg-alloy and T2 pure Cu ***-free Mg/Cu joints were obtained with Mg-RS and Cu-AS configuration,at a welding speed of 50 mm/min and tool rotating speeds of 325 r/min,625 r/min and 925 r/*** the joining interface,both Mg_(2)Cu and MgCu_(2) IMC phases were observed,with a clear,uniform and continuous IMCs layer composed of two sub-layers,layer-A of Mg+Mg_(2)Cu and layer-B of Mg_(2)Cu+MgCu_(2).The maximum ultimate tensile strength of the Mg/Cu friction stir welding joint reached 130 MPa at 925 r/min due to enhanced mechanical interlocking between Mg and Cu,as well as sufficient metallurgical bonding at the joining interface with an IMCs layer thickness in the range of 1.0-2.0μm.

Branched alkanes are ubiquitous in the troposphere and play an important role in the chemical *** this work,the rate constants and products for the reaction of Cl atoms with 3-methylhexane and 2-methylheptane were measured at room temperature(298±0.2K)and atmospheric pressure using a conventional relative rate *** rate constants of 3-methylhexane and 2-methylheptane in units of cm~3/(mol·sec)are(3.09±0.31)×10^(-10)and(3.67±0.40)×10^(-10),***,the corresponding atmospheric li.etime of the studied branched alkanes with Cl was 6.92-89.90 hours and 5.82-75.69 hours,*** estimated atmospheric li.etimes indicated that the reaction with Cl atoms could be the most important atmospheric degradation pathway for 3-methylhexane *** gas-phase products of the reactions were identified and quantified,and particle-phase products were also *** atmosphere oxidation mechanism of Cl atoms with 3-methylhexane and 2-methylheptane is *** SOA yields of 3-methylhexane and 2-methylheptane from the reaction of Cl atoms were determined to be7.96%±0.89%and 13.35%±1.50%***,the results reveal that the primary loss process of branched alkanes is the reaction with Cl atoms,which impacts its degradation on a regional scale.

Aggregation of species with similar ecological properties is one of the effective methods to simpli.y food web ***,species aggregation will affect not only the complexity of modeli.g process but also the accuracy of models’*** of aggregation methods and the number of trophospecies are the keys to study the simpli.ication of food *** this study,three aggregation methods,including taxonomic aggregation(TA),structural equivalence aggregation(SEA),and self-organizing maps(SOM),were analyzed and compared with the li.ear inverse model–Markov Chain Monte Carlo(li.-MCMC)*** of aggregation methods and trophospecies number on food webs were evaluated based on the robustness and unitless of ecological net-work *** showed that aggregation method of SEA performed better than the other two methods in estimating food web structure and function *** effects of aggregation methods were driven by the differences in species aggregation principles,which will alter food web structure and function through the redistribution of energy *** to the results of mean absolute percentage error(MAPE)which can be appli.d to evaluate the accuracy of the model,we found that MAPE in food web indices will increase with the reducing trophospecies number,and MAPE in food web function indices were smaller and more stable than those in food web structure ***,trade-off between simpli.ying food webs and reflecting the status of ecosystem should be con-sidered in food web *** findings highli.ht the importance of aggregation methods and trophospecies number in the analy-sis of food web *** study provided a framework to explore the extent to which food web models are affected by dif-ferent species aggregation,and will provide scientific basis for the construction of food webs.

Simulation of rice grain breakage process based on Tavares UFRJ model

Understanding the breakage characteristics of rice grains is an important means to reduce rice breakage rate. However, the dynamic breakage mechanism of rice grain is unclear due to the lack of a reasonable breakage model. In this study, the uniaxial compression test and drop weight test of single rice were carried out, the breakage model of rice grain was constructed, the reli.bili.y of rice model was verified by the experiment and simulation results. The results showed that the fracture energy distribution of rice can be obtained by uniaxial compression test, the specific fracture energy of rice accords with a lognormal distribution, and the median specific fracture energy of rice is 479.75 J/kg. The damage accumulation coefficient and fragment size distribution of rice can be acquired by drop test, the result of damage accumulation coefficient of rice was 4.3. Rice grain breakage mainly occurs in the milli.g section of the vertical circulation rice mill.

Zinc-air batteries (ZABs) offer tremendous potential in various industries and daily li.e due to their excellent energy density,safety and ***,the practical appli.ation of ZABs has been severely hindered by challenges such as high low round-trip efficiencies and overpotential,primarily attributed to the inherent sluggish kinetics in the oxygen evolution reaction(OER) of air *** address these issues effectively and economically,heterojunction engineering accompanied by interfacial chemistry emerges as an ideal approach to designing efficient OER ***,a novel heterogeneous interfacial chemical structure,namely NiCoP/NiFe LDH (layered double hydroxide),needle-li.e NiCoP and NiFe LDH nanosheets were assembled from cores and shells,***,the NiCoP/NiFe LDH-based ZABs have an exceptionally long cycle li.e of 238 h,far superior to Pt/C+Ir/C batteries (～97 h).Theoretical calculations and experimental results demonstrate that NiCoP/NiFe LDH possesses tunable interfacial chemistry,demonstrating significant electronic,coordination,geometric and synergistic *** enhancements dramatically improve the active site density,intrinsic activity and electrochemical durabili.y of the *** summary,this work provides a soli. foundation for the development of costeffective OER electrocatalysts for electrochemical energy devices.

Accurate and efficient urban traffic flow prediction can help drivers identify road traffic conditions in real-time,consequently helping them avoid congestion and accidents to a certain ***,the existing methods for real-time urban traffic flow prediction focus on improving the model prediction accuracy or efficiency while ignoring the training efficiency,which results in a prediction system that lacks the scalabili.y to integrate real-time traffic flow into the training *** conduct accurate and real-time urban traffic flow prediction while considering the latest historical data and avoiding time-consuming onli.e retraining,herein,we propose a scalable system for Predicting short-term URban traffic flow in real-time based on li.ense Plate recognition data(PURP).First,to ensure prediction accuracy,PURP constructs the spatio-temporal contexts of traffic flow prediction from li.ense Plate Recognition(LPR)data as effective ***,to utili.e the recent data without retraining the model onli.e,PURP uses the nonparametric method k-Nearest Neighbor(namely KNN)as the prediction framework because the KNN can efficiently identify the top-k most similar spatio-temporal contexts and make predictions based on these contexts without time-consuming model retraining *** experimental results show that PURP retains strong prediction efficiency as the prediction period increases.
