Tensor form factors of P→P,S,V and A transitions within standard and covariant light-front approaches

We investigate the tensor form factors of,and A transitions within the standard light-front(SLF)and the covariant light-front(CLF)quark models(QMs).The self-consistency and Lorentz covariance of CLF QM are analyzed via these quantities,and the effects of zero-mode are *** the and A transitions,besides the inconsistency between the results extracted via longitudinal and transverse polarization states,which is caused by the residual-dependent spurious contributions,we find and analyze a“novel”self-consistence problem of the traditional CLF QM,caused by different strategies for dealing with the trace term in CLF matrix element.A possible solution to the problems of traditional CLF QM is discussed and confirmed ***,the theoret-ical predictions for the tensor form factors of some and()induced and A transitions are updated within the CLF QM with a self-consistent scheme.

Carbon nanostructures produced through ion irradiation

Several nanostructures we produced by ion irradiation have been reviewed in this paper. By using ions to irradiate two ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene targets respectively, it was found that small fullerenes C20 and C26 were grown, adding two members to the fullerene family. Meanwhile, crystalline diamonds also have been produced by Ar+ ions irradiation of graphite. In the experiment of double ions Ni+ and Ar+ irradiation, nanoscale argon bubbles formed. On the other side, when multi-wall carbon nanotubes were irradiated by C+, many MWCNTs evolved to amorphous carbon nanowires and amorphous carbon nanotubes. And there are possible welding in the crossed nanotubes.

Spatial Interpolation and Sample Size Optimization for Soil Copper(Cu) Investigation in Cropland Soil at County Scale Using Cokriging

Knowledge on spatial distribution and sampling size optimization of soil copper （Cu） could lay solid foundations for environmetal quality survey of agricultural soils at county scale. In this investigation, cokriging method was used to conduct the interpolation of Cu concentraiton in cropland soil in Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province, China. Based on the original 623 physicochmically measured soil samples, 560, 498, and 432 sub-samples were randomly selected as target variable and soil organic matter （SOM） of the whole original samples as auxiliary variable. Interpolation results using Cokriging under different sampling numbers were evaluated for their applicability in estimating the spatial distribution of soil Cu at county sacle. The results showed that the root mean square error （RMSE） produced by Cokriging decreased from 0.9 to 7.77%, correlation coefficient between the predicted values and the measured increased from 1.76 to 9.76% in comparison with the ordinary Kriging under the corresponding sample sizes. The prediction accuracy using Cokriging was still higher than original 623 data using ordinary Kriging even as sample size reduced 10%, and their interpolation maps were highly in agreement. Therefore, Cokriging was proven to be a more accurate and economic method which could provide more information and benefit for the studies on spatial distribution of soil pollutants at county scale.

Aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR),a cellular chemical sensor,controls cellular homeostasis,and sphingosine-1-phosphate(S1P),a bioactive intermediate of sphingolipid metabolism,is believed to have a role in immunity and inflammation,but their potential crosstalk is currently *** aimed to determine whether there is a functional linkage between AhR signaling and sphingolipid *** showed that AhR ligands,including an environmental polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAH),induced S1P generation,and inhibited S1P lyase(S1PL)activity in resting cells,antigen/IgE-activated mast cells,and mouse lungs exposed to the AhR ligand alone or in combination with antigen *** reduction of S1PL activity was due to AhR-mediated oxidation of S1PL at residue 317,which was reversible by the addition of an antioxidant or in cells with knockdown of the ORMDL3 gene encoding an ER transmembrane protein,whereas C317A S1PL mutant-transfected cells were resistant to the AhR-mediated ***,analysis of AhR ligand-treated cells showed a time-dependent increase of the ORMDL3–S1PL complex,which was confirmed by FRET *** change increased the S1P levels,which in turn,induced mast cell degranulation via S1PR2 *** addition,elevated levels of plasma S1P were found in children with asthma compared to non-asthmatic *** results suggest a new regulatory pathway whereby the AhR–ligand axis induces ORMDL3-dependent S1P generation by inhibiting S1PL,which may contribute to the expression of allergic diseases.

Probing cytotoxicity of CdSe and CdSe/CdS quantum dots

Toxicities of CdSe and CdSe/CdS quantum dots （QDs） synthesized by ultrasound-assisted methods were investigated in vitro and in vivo. Five human cell lines were used to assess the cytotoxicity of as-prepared CdSe and CdSe/CdS by assays of MTT viability, red blood cell hemolysis, flow cytometry, and fluorescence imaging. The results show that these QDs may be cytotoxic by their influence in S and G2 phases in cell cycles. The cytotoxicity of QDs depends on both the physicochemical properties and related to target cells.

MXene Hybridized Polymer with Enhanced Electromagnetic Energy Harvest for Sensitized Microwave Actuation and Self-Powered Motion Sensing

Polymeric microwave actuators combining tissue-like softness with programmable microwave-responsive deformation hold great promise for mobile intelligent devices and bionic soft robots. However, their application is challenged by restricted electromagnetic sensitivity and intricate sensing coupling. In this study, a sensitized polymeric microwave actuator is fabricated by hybridizing a liquid crystal polymer with Ti3C2Tx (MXene). Compared to the initial counterpart, the hybrid polymer exhibits unique space-charge polarization and interfacial polarization, resulting in significant improvements of 230% in the dielectric loss factor and 830% in the apparent efficiency of electromagnetic energy harvest. The sensitized microwave actuation demonstrates as the shortened response time of nearly 10 s, which is merely 13% of that for the initial shape memory polymer. Moreover, the ultra-low content of MXene (up to 0.15 wt%) benefits for maintaining the actuation potential of the hybrid polymer. An innovative self-powered sensing prototype that combines driving and piezoelectric polymers is developed, which generates real-time electric potential feedback (open-circuit potential of similar to 3 mV) during actuation. The polarization-dominant energy conversion mechanism observed in the MXene-polymer hybrid structure furnishes a new approach for developing efficient electromagnetic dissipative structures and shows potential for advancing polymeric electromagnetic intelligent devices.

Constraints on holographic QCD phase transitions from PTA observations

The underlying physics of QCD phase transition in the early Universe remains largely unknown due to its strong-coupling nature during the quark-gluon plasma/hadron gas transition, yet a holographic model has been proposed to quantitatively fit the lattice QCD data while with its duration of the first-order phase transition(FoPT) left undetermined. At specific baryon chemical potential, the first-order QCD phase transition agrees with the observational constraint of baryon asymmetry. It, therefore, provides a scenario for phase transition gravitational waves(GWs) within the standard model of particle physics. If these background GWs could contribute dominantly to the recently claimed common-spectrum red noise from pulsar timing array(PTA) observations, the duration of this FoPT can be well constrained, and the associated primordial black holes are still allowed by current observations.
