Recent theoretical predictions and experimental findings on the transport properties of n-type SnTe have triggered extensive researches on this simple binary compound,despite the realization of n-type SnTe being a great ***,Cl as a donor dopant can effectively regulate the position of Fermi level in Sn_(0.6)Pb_(0.4)Te matrix and successfully achieve the n-type transport behavior in *** outstanding power factor of~14.7μW·cm^(-1)·K^(-2) at 300 K was obtained for Cl-doped Sn_(0.6)Pb_(0.4)Te *** combining the experimental analysis with theoretical calculations,the transport properties of n-type SnTe thermoelectrics doped with different halogen dopants(Cl,Br,and I)were then systematically investigated and *** results demonstrated that Br and I had better doping efficiencies compared with Cl,which contributed to the well-optimized carrier concentrations of~1.03×10^(19)and~1.11×10^(19)cm^(-3)at 300 K,*** improved n-type carrier concentrations effectively lead to the significant enhancement on the thermoelectric performance of n-type *** study further promoted the experimental progress and deep interpretation of the transport features in n-type SnTe *** present results could also be crucial for the development of n-type counterparts for SnTe-based thermoelectric devices.

Thermoelectric materials have a wide range of application because they can be directly used in refrigeration and power generation. And the Bi_(2)Te_(3) stand out because of its excellent thermoelectric performance and are used in commercial thermoelectric devices. However, n-type Bi_(2)Te_(3) has seriously hindered the development of Bi_(2)Te_(3)-based thermoelectric devices due to its weak mechanical properties and inferior thermoelectric performance. Therefore, it is urgent to develop a high-performance n-type Bi_(2)Te_(3) polycrystalline. In this work, we employed interstitial Cu and the hot deformation process to optimize the thermoelectric properties of Bi_(2)Te_(2.7)Se_(0.3), and a high-performance thermoelectric module was fabricated based on this material. Our combined theoretical and experimental effort indicates that the interstitial Cu reduce the defect density in the matrix and suppresses the donor-like effect, leading to a lattice plainification effect in the material. In addition, the two-step hot deformation process significantly improves the preferred orientation of the material and boosts the mobility. As a result, a maximum ZT of 1.27 at 373 K and a remarkable high ZT_(ave) of 1.22 across the temperature range of 300–425 K are obtained. The thermoelectric generator(TEG, 7-pair) and thermoelectric cooling(TEC, 127-pair) modules were fabricated with our n-type textured Cu_(0.01)Bi_(2)Te_(2.7)Se_(0.3) coupled with commercial p-type Bi_(2)Te_(3). The TEC module demonstrates superior cooling efficiency compared with the commercial Bi_(2)Te_(3) device, achieving a ΔT of 65 and 83.4 K when the hot end temperature at 300 and 350 K, respectively. In addition, the TEG module attains an impressive conversion efficiency of 6.5% at a ΔT of 225 K, which is almost the highest value among the reported Bi_(2)Te_(3)-based TEG modules.

The wide-bandgap cubic-structure semiconductor In_(4)SnSe_(4) can be regarded as a product of compositing two typical layered thermoelectric materials SnSe and In_(4)Se_(3).Remarkably,In_(4)SnSe_(4) inherited low thermal conductivity from its parent *** advance the potential thermoelectric property of In_(4)SnSe_(4),we systematically investigated its crystal structure and the origin of the intrinsic low thermal ***_(4)SnSe_(4) crystallized in a cubic phase(space group Pa3),with the lattice parameters of a=b=c=12.66Å.The anisotropy of IneSe bonds in the lattice determined the complex structure of In_(4)SnSe_(4) with 72 atoms in the primitive *** importantly,sound velocity and elastic properties unclosed the strong anharmonicity in In_(4)SnSe_(4),which contributed greatly to the low thermal *** first-principles calculations,it was found that the lone-pair electrons from In^(+)mainly caused the anharmonicity in the ***,Br was proved to be an effective dopant for In_(4)SnSe_(4) to improve the electrical transport *** work indicated that the complex wide-bandgap semiconductor In_(4)SnSe_(4) with cubic phase and intrinsic low thermal conductivity was a new promising thermoelectric material with appropriate doping.

The stability analysis of a finite Stokes layer is of practical importance in flow control. In the present work, the instantaneous stability of a finite Stokes layer with layer interactions is studied via a linear stability analysis of the frozen phases of the base flow. The oscillations of two plates can have different velocity amplitudes, initial phases, and frequencies. The effects of the Stokes-layer interactions on the stability when two plates oscillate synchronously are analyzed. The growth rates of two most unstable modes when δ lizing effect on the most unstable mode when δ lizing effect when δ > 0.68. However, the interactions always have a stabilizing effect on the other unstable mode. It is explained that one of the two unstable modes has much higher dissipation than the other one when the Stokes-layer interactions are strong. We also find that the stability of the Stokes layer is closely related to the inflectional points of the base-flow velocity profile. The effects of inconsistent velocity-amplitude, initial phase, and frequency of the oscillations on the stability are analyzed. The energy of the most unstable eigenvector is mainly distributed near the plate of higher velocity amplitude or higher oscillation frequency. The effects of the initial phase difference are complicated because the base-flow velocity is extremely sensitive to the initial phase.
