Mineralogical properties and co-sintering characteristics of fluxed iron ore with magnetite concentrates

To investigate the feasibility of co-sintering of fluxed iron ore with magnetite concentrates, the mineralogical properties of a novel fluxed iron ore were studied using particle size analysis, microscopic morphology characterization, and X-ray diffraction Rietveld analysis. Following that, the experiments for granulation performance and basic sintering characteristics were designed under seven different fluxed iron ore ratios, and the integrated ranking of different fluxed iron ore ratios was determined using gray relation analysis. Finally, the results of the industrial trails were combined with the feasibility analysis. Test and experimental results show that the fraction of the fluxed iron ore particles larger than 0.5 mm can account for more than 48%, and the particles have two morphologies: spherical-rough and flaky-smooth. Ca elements are found in the form of calcite (CaCO3) and dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2). The average particle size of granules and powder removal rate can be improved from 2.50 to 3.16 mm and 39.60% to 24.20%, respectively, with the increase in the fluxed iron ore ratio. Furthermore, the fluxed iron ore can improve assimilability and liquid fluidity of magnetite concentrates. In terms of overall granulation performance and sintering characteristics, the fluxed iron ore ratios are graded from best to worst as follows: 12%, 15%, 9%, 18%, 21%, 6% and 3%. The industrial trails show that when the fluxed iron ore ratio is increased, the beneficial effect of the superior sintering characteristics of the fluxed iron ore itself is ideally balanced with the negative effect of the lower amount of additional CaO at 12% ratio, and thus, it is feasible to bring the fluxed iron ore into production at a level of roughly 12%.

The carbon dioxide(CO_(2))reduction process involves complex protonation,making the resulting product often *** achieve the desired product,it is crucial to manipulate the reaction ***,we build the metal atom pair sites for selective CO_(2)photoreduction into *** a prototype,Ni atom pair sites loaded on the Mo S_(2)nanosheets were synthesized and verified by highresolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and X-rayabsorption near edge structure spectra(XANES).In-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)monitors the*CHO group,a crucial intermediate in CH_(4)production,during CO_(2)photoreduction on the Ni-Mo S_(2)nanosheets,whereas this monitoring is not observed for the Mo S_(2)***,theoretical calculations disclose that over the Ni-Mo S_(2)nanosheet slab,the formation energy of*CHO intermediates is determined to be lower(0.585 e V)than the desorption energy of*CO intermediates for CO production(0.64 e V),implying the higher selectivity of CH_(4)production.

Dear Editor,Infections by the influenza virus are a significant and widespread global health threat,as these infections have an annual death toll ranging from 290,000 to 650,000.1 A significant proportion of these fatalities are attributed to secondary bacterial pneumonia,a severe complication commonly caused by ubiquitous respiratory pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus(***).2 Of particular concern is the increased morbidity and mortality rates in individuals infected simultaneously with influenza virus and methicillin-resistant ***(MRSA).3 The concurrent presence of bacteria and influenza virus usually causes acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS),which is associated with acute lung injury(Ali),severe lung tissue edema,and widespread ***,determining the complex mechanisms underlying the synergistic interplay will require further investigation with a suitable coinfection mouse *** our previous study,we utilized different sequential coinfections at various time points to model influenza A virus and MRSA coinfection.

The Influence of Selection for Plasma very Low Density lipoprotein Concentration upon Production Performance in Layer Type Chickens

The chickens studied were from a pure line of brown shell egg-type (YAFA) female grandparents of 17-week-old. Plasima very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) concentration was measured with turbidimetric assay. The experiment results showed that the phenotypic correlations between 29-week or 50-week plasma VLDL concentration and egg production (EP) were positive in the early stage of laying period, but those in the latter stage were negative. Selection for low plasma VLDL concentration will decrease the EP in the early stage of laying period but increase the one in the latter stage. There was a significant negative phenotypic correlation between the age at first egg (AFE) and 18-week body weight (BW). The phenotypic correlation between 29-week plasma VLDL concentration and the AFE was negative. AFE was influenced by BW and body fatness as well. There was significant positive phenotypic correlation between plasima VLDL concentration and body weights (BWs) at the same stage in laying period and the phenotypic correlation was also positive between 29-week plasma VLDL concentration and the BW at middle stage of laying period, indicating that selection for low plasma VLDL concentration would reduce BWs at various stages to different degree.

The anomalous photovoltaic(APV)effect is promising for high-performance ferroelectric materials and devices in photoelectric ***,it is a challenge how to tune the APV effect by utilizing the characteristic structure of ***,a domain engineering strategy is proposed to enhance the APV effect in lead-free 0.88(Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3))-0.12(Ba_(1–1.5x)S_(mx)TiO_(3))(NBT-BST)ferroelectric *** tuning the domain size based on Sm^(3+)doping,a maximum open-circuit voltage(VOC)of 18.1 V is obtained when Sm^(3+)content is 0.75%,which is much larger than its bandgap(Eg).The mechanism of this large VOC originates from the multiple positive effects induced by the small-size domain,where decreasing domain size enhances ferroelectric polarization and net interface barrier potential,leading to a large driving electric ***,the APV effect exhibits a giant temperature sensitivity due to the dramatic evolution of small-size domain in the temperature *** work sheds light on the exploration of ferroelectrics with APV effect and inspires their future high-performance optoelectronic device applications.

Analytical evaluation of steady-state solute distribution in through- diffusion and membrane behavior test under non-perfectly flushing boundary conditions

The through-diffusion and membrane behavior testing procedure using a closed-system apparatus has been widely used for concurrent measurement of diffusion and membrane efficiency coefficients of low-permeability clay-based barrier ***,the common assumption of perfectly flushing conditions at the specimen boundaries could induce errors in analyses of the diffusion coefficients and membrane *** this study,an innovative pseudo three-dimensional(3D)analytical method was proposed to evaluate solute distribution along the boundary surfaces of the soil-porous disks system,considering the non-perfectly flushing *** results were consistent with numerical models under two scenarios considering different inflow/outflow *** proposed model has been demonstrated to be an accurate and reliable method to estimate solute distributions along the *** calculated membrane efficiency coefficient and diffusion coefficient based on the proposed analytical method are more accurate,resulting in up to 50%less relative error than the traditional approach that adopts the arithmetic mean value of the influent and effluent *** retar-dation factor of the clay specimen also can be calculated with a revised cumulative mass ***,the simulated transient solute transport matched with experimental data from a multi-stage through-diffusion and membrane behavior test,validating the accuracy of the proposed method.
