Effect of CeO_2 on heat transfer and crystallization behavior of rare earth alloy steel mold fluxes

To improve the heat transfer capability and the crystallization property of the traditional mold flux, CaF_2 was replaced with B_2O_3. Then, the influences of CeO_2 on the heat transfer and the crystallization of the CaF_2-bearing mold flux and the new mold flux with 10 wt% B_2O_3 were studied using a slag film heat flux simulator and X-ray diffraction(XRD). The results revealed that the addition of CeO2 reduced the heat transfer by increasing the solid slag thickness and the crystallization of two mold fluxes. However, CeO_2 had less effect on the B_2O_3-containing mold flux compared with the CaF_2-bearing mold flux. According to the analyses, the CeO_2 contents in the CaF_2-bearing mold flux and the B_2O_3-containing mold flux should not exceed 8 wt% and 12 wt%, respectively. Therefore, these experimental results are beneficial to improve and develop the mold flux for casting rare earth alloy steels.

We compared the ground-dwelling beetle assemblages under four scenarios in which transgenic Bt（Cry 1Ac） cotton（33B）,transgenic Bt（Cry 1Ac）＋CpTI cotton（SGK321）,conventional cotton（33）,conventional cotton（Shiyuan 321） in North *** the survey in two years（2009-2010）,24 ground beetle species were captured with pitfall traps in 20 plots which included five replicates for each cotton *** significant difference was observed in the number of ground beetle species captured,activity density,evenness and Shannon-Wiener diversity among the four cotton *** posticalis was less abundant in transgenic Bt＋CpTI cotton（SGK321） fields than its conventional cotton（Shiyuan 321）,but more abundant in transgenic Bt cotton（33B） fields compared with its conventional cotton（33）.There was no significant difference for other abundant species between in transgenic cotton and in conventional cotton *** on non-metric multidimensional scaling（NMDS） analysis,ground-dwelling beetle assemblages were similar in transgenic and conventional cotton over the two years,but the ground-dwelling beetle assemblages in transgenic cotton 33 B significantly differed from that in the conventional cotton（strain 33） in *** strong evidence that the transgenic cotton effect on ground-dwelling beetle assemblages was found in this study.

Elucidating the synergistic effect of wax and hydrates, involving formation, aggregation and deposition,is imperative to the operation and transportation safety for offshore petroleum fields. To understand the characteristics and mechanism of synergistic deposition of wax and hydrates, flow and deposition experiments of systems with different wax contents(0-2.89 wt%), initial flow rates, pressures and temperatures were conducted in a high pressure visual flow loop. According to the flow rate and pressure drop data as well as the visual window observation, four different types of plugging scenarios of waxhydrate coexisting systems with different flow properties and wall deposition state were summarized,including rapid plugging, transition plugging, gradual plugging type I and gradual plugging type *** with the wax-free system after hydrate formation, even with the addition of anti-agglomerant(AA) with the same concentration, wax-hydrate coexisting systems could not reach stable hydrate slurry flow state, indicating that the existence of wax deteriorated the performance of AA. Aside from the influence of wax crystals on hydrate agglomeration, it was found that wax deposition layer would alter the adhesion and bedding of hydrates, resulting in the variation of flow properties and wall deposition *** low wax content systems(0.75 wt%) where rapid plugging occurred, the synergistic effect between wax and hydrates promoted the formation of wax-hydrate coupling aggregates, resulting in severe local deposition when the coupling aggregates attained critical deposition size and consequently decreasing flow rate, forming a vicious circle of decreasing transportability. Since bedding of coupling aggregates was hindered by the uniformly coated wax deposition layer on pipe wall, gradual plugging rather than rapid plugging occurred in medium wax content systems(1-1.25 wt%), predominately caused by the gradual increment in viscosity of waxy hydrate slurry. Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola （Xoc） causes bacterial leaf streak, a devastating disease in rice-growing regions worldwide. A Tn5-insertion mutant in Xoc_3248, encoding an inner membrane protein （Imp）, showed reduced virulence in rice. To explore the potential function of this gene in virulence, a deletion mutant R？imp was constructed in the wild-type RS105. The R？imp mutant was signiifcantly impaired for bacterial virulence and growth in planta. The mutation in imp made the pathogen insufifciently utilize glucose, fructose, mannose or pyruvate as a sole carbon source, leading to less extracellular polysaccharide （EPS） production and reduced motility. The deifciencies noted for the mutant were restored to wild-type levels when imp was introduced in trans. Transcription of imp was signiifcantly declined when hrpG and hrpX was mutated and the expression of hrpG and hrpX was also signiifcantly declined when imp was deleted. Cell sublocalization in planta showed Imp membrane-binding feature. These results suggest that Imp is a virulence factor with roles in the catabolism of sugars, EPS production, and bacterial motility.

Background: Complete resection of locally advanced sigmoid colon cancer(LASCC) is sometimes difficult. Patients with LASCC have a dismal prognosis and poor quality of life, which has encouraged the evaluation of alternative multimodality treatments. This prospective study aimed to assess the feasibility and efficacy of neoadjuvant chemora?diotherapy(neo CRT) followed by surgery as treatment of selected patients with unresectable ***: We studied the patients with unresectable LASCC who received neo CRT followed by surgery between October 2010 and December 2012. The neoadjuvant regimen consisted of external?beam radiotherapy to 50 Gy and capecitabine?based chemotherapy every 3 weeks. Surgery was scheduled 6–8 weeks after ***: Twenty?one patients were included in this study. The median follow?up was 42 months(range, 17–57 months). All patients completed neo CRT and surgery. Resection with microscopically negative margins(R0 resection) was achieved in 20 patients(95.2%). Pathologic complete response was observed in 8 patients(38.1%). Multivisceral resection was necessary in only 7 patients(33.3%). Two patients(9.5%) experienced grade 2 postopera?tive complications. No patients died within 30 days after surgery. For 18 patients with pathologic M0(yp M0) disease, the cumulative probability of 3?year local recurrence?free survival, disease?free survival and overall survival was 100.0%, 88.9% and 100.0%, respectively. For all 21 patients, the cumulative probability of 3?year overall survival was 95.2% and bladder function was well ***: For patients with unresectable LASCC, preoperative chemoradiotherapy and surgery can be performed safely and may result in an increased survival rate.

There is an increasing need to introduce socially interactive robots as a means of assistance in autism spectrum disorder(ASD) treatment and rehabilitation, to improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation training and the diversification of treatment, and to alleviate the shortage of medical personnel in China's Mainland and other places in the world. In this preliminary clinical study, three different socially interactive robots with different appearances and functionalities were tested in therapy-like settings in four different rehabilitation facilities/institutions in Shenzhen, China. Seventy-four participants, including 52 children with ASD, whose processes of interacting with robots were recorded by three different cameras, all received a single-session three-robot intervention. Data were collected from not only the videos recorded, but also the questionnaires filled mostly by parents of the participants. Some insights from the preliminary results were obtained. These can contribute to the research on physical robo it design and evaluations on robots in therapy-like settings. First, when doing physical robot design, some preferential focus should be on aspects of appearances and functionalities. Second, attention analysis using algorithms such as estimation of the directions of gaze and head posture of a child in the video clips can be adopted to quantitatively measure the prosocial behaviors and actions(e.g., attention shifting from one particular robot to other robots) of the children. Third, observing and calculating the frequency of the time children spend on exploring/playing with the robots in the video clips can be adopted to qualitatively analyze such behaviors and actions. limitations of the present study are also presented.

Development of active and stable catalysts for low-temperature CO oxidation has long been regarded as a hot *** this contribution,we used CeO_(2) with high-density surface pits as support to prepare an active and stable Au/CeO_(2) catalyst by an adsorption-deposition *** obtained 0.05 wt%Au/CeO_(2)-TD(where TD represents thermal decomposition)can maintain its activity at 80℃ for more than 20 h or even after calcination at 800℃ for 2 *** characterization results showed that the high-density surface pits on CeO_(2)-TD play a decisive role in the stabilization of Au and enhancement of the redox *** work may provide a new strategy to improve the stability of supported metal catalysts by a simple and conventional method.
