Zr_(2)SeB and Hf_(2)SeB:Two new MAB phase compounds with the Cr_(2)AlC-type MAX phase(211 phase)crystal structures

The ternary or quaternary layered compounds called MAB phases are frequently mentioned recently together with the well-known MAX ***,MAB phases are generally referred to layered transition metal borides,while MAX phases are layered transition metal carbides and nitrides with different types of crystal structure although they share the common nano-laminated structure *** order to prove that MAB phases can share the same type of crystal structure with MAX phases and extend the composition window of MAX phases from carbides and nitrides to borides,two new MAB phase compounds Zr_(2)SeB and Hf_(2)SeB with the Cr_(2)AlC-type MAX phase(211 phase)crystal structure were discovered by a combination of first-principles calculations and experimental verification in this ***-principles calculations predicted the stability and lattice parameters of the two new MAB phase compounds Zr_(2)SeB and Hf_(2)*** they were successfully synthesized by using a thermal explosion method in a spark plasma sintering(SPS)*** crystal structures of Zr_(2)SeB and Hf_(2)SeB were determined by a combination of the X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM).The lattice parameters of Zr_(2)SeB and Hf_(2)SeB are a=3.64398Å,c=12.63223Åand a=3.52280Å,c=12.47804Å,*** the atomic positions are M at 4f(1/3,2/3,0.60288[Zr]or 0.59889[Hf]),Se at 2c(1/3,2/3,1/4),and B at 2a(0,0,0).And the atomic stacking sequences follow those of the Cr_(2)AlC-type MAX *** work opens up the composition window for the MAB phases and MAX phases and will trigger the interests of material scientists and physicists to explore new compounds and properties in this new family of materials.

Occurrence and release of cadmium, chromium, and lead from stone coal combustion

Stone coal,which has high ash yield,low carbon content,and low calorific value,releases toxic elements during the combustion *** this study,samples were collected from an open-pit stone coal mine in the southern Shaanxi province,China.A simulated combustion experiment and sequential chemical extraction were applied to investigate the enrichment,occurrence,and release of Cr,Cd,and Pb in raw stone coal and *** contents of Cr,Cd,and Pb in raw stone coal were larger than those reported for other coals in China and *** enrichment factors of Cr,Cd,and Pb in ash at different temperatures exceeded 0.7,with the exception of Cd at 1000 ℃.This indicates that Cr,Cd,and Pb were first enriched at low temperature (below 600 ℃) and then volatilized at high temperature due to the decomposition of clay *** dominant forms of toxic elements in raw stone coal were Fe-Mn-bound Cr and Cd and carbonates of *** the temperature increased,the organic forms decreased obviously,and the residual forms increased;however,the Fe-Mn-bound forms remained the dominant forms of Cr,Cd,and Pb.

This paper aims to improve the autonomous operational capabilities of *** a complex system with physical coupling and flexible attachments,an autonomous reconfigura-tion strategy based on reconfigurability evaluation is ***,a quantitative evaluation index for reconfigurability is given based on operator theory to fully exploit the potential of system reconfigurability under resource ***,specific requirements and evaluation methods for autonomous reconfiguration are proposed in accordance with the results,thereby providing a theoretical reference for the design of reconfiguration strategy ***,reconfigurability is maximized from the design point of ***,the validity and cor-rectness of the method are verified by simulation.

This work focuses on the existence and stability of positive quasi-periodic solutions for the 3-dimensional Lotka-Volterra *** KAM(Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser) theory and Newton iteration,it is shown that there exists a positive quasi-periodic solution in a Cantor family for the 3-dimensional Lotka-Volterra *** the above basis,we can show the stability of the solution with the help of Lyapunov function.

The Changling fault depression passed through three stages of evolution: a period of faulting, a period of subsidence, and an inversion period. The fault lifted the whole area and the formation was eroded during the late Yingcheng formation, the late Nenjiang formation, and the late Mingshui formation. The denudation quantity of eight wells located in the study area is estimated by the interval transit time method and by the formation trend extension method using seismic and drilling data. Inversion back stripping technology with de-compaction correction was used to restore the original sedimentary thickness step by step and to recover the burial history at a single well. Two profiles were selected for the recovery and study of the tectonic evolution. The study confirmed that the primary major gas bearing structure formed due to thermal shrinkage lifting during the late Yingcheng formation. Successive development in a pattern during the late Mingshui formation led to the formation of the primary gas pool. Vertical differential uplift during the late Nenjiang formation formed the Fulongquan structure during the late Paleogene. At this same time a secondary gas pool formed. A large scale reverse developed late in the Mingshui formation that provided the impetus for formation of a secondary gas pool. It is thought that the migration and accumulation of oil and gas was controlled by lithologic character, fracture, and structure. The local uplift in the vicinity of the hydrocarbon recession is most conducive to the collection of hydrocarbon gas.

Developing inexpensive and high efficient catalysts is essential for generating oxygen and hydrogen via water ***,based on powder metallurgy,a Ni-Fe based compound(Ni8Fe2 alloy)with unique porous structure and controllable phase has been designed and *** using a solvent or template,the alloy exhibits a porous structure with uniformly distributed *** obtained Ni8Fe2 alloy exhibits an efficient oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance and good longterm stability in alkaline electrolyte(i.e.1.0 M KOH).Additionally,an alkaline water splitting device has been assembled using porous Ni8Fe2 alloy as both anode and cathode *** system requires a cell voltage of 1.65 V to reach the 10 mA cm-2 current density for overall water splitting and maintains good stability for 25 *** efficient electrocatalytic performance of the Ni8Fe2 alloy is owing to the unique porous microstructure,increased active sites and accelerated charge ***,the reaction kinetics of OER are significantly promoted.

Despite the continuously increased requirement on automated synthesis of medicines for distributed manufacturing and personal care, it remains a challenge to realize automated synthesis which requires solid-liquid phase reactions. In this work, we demonstrated an automated solid-liquid synthesis for gadopentetate dimeglumine, the most widely used magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) contrast agent. The high-efficiency reaction was performed in a 3D microfluidic chip which was fabricated by femtosecond laser micromachining. The structure of the chip realized 3D shear flow which was essential for highly efficient mixing and movement of the solid-liquid mixtures. Ultraviolet visible(UV-vis) spectrometer was employed for in-line analysis to help automation of this system. Comparing with the round-bottom flask system, this synthetic system showed significantly higher reaction rate, indicating the advantage of the3D microfluidic technology in micro chemical engineering.

Mesenchymal stem cells （MSCs） are considered as the developmental origin of multiple Uneage cells including osteocytes, adipocytes, and muscle cells. Previous studies demonstrated that the PH *** protein CKIP-1 plays an important role in the devel- opment of osteobiasts and cardiomyocytes. However, whether CKIP-1 is involved in the generation of adipocytes as weU as the MSC differentiation remains unknown. Here we show that CKIP-1 is a novel regulator of MSCs differentiating into adipocytes. MSCs derived from CKIP-l-deficient mice display enhanced adipogenesis upon induction. Further analysis showed that CKIP-1 interacts with the histone deacetylase HDAC1 in the nucleus and inhibits the transcription of CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein α （C/EBPcx）, which is a crucial adipogenic transcription factor. Ectopic expression of CKI P-1 in a MSC-Uke cell line C3H/10T1/2 reduced the gener- ation of adipocytes due to suppression of adipogenic factors, including C/EBPα. Moreover, CKI P-l-deficient mice showed an increase in body weight and white adipose tissue gains when fed on a high-fat diet. Collectively, these results suggest that CKIP-1 is a novel inhibitor of MSC-originated adipogenesis by enhancing HDACl-associated repression of C/EBPα.

Self-sensing adaptability is a high-level intelligence in living creatures and is highly desired for their biomimetic soft robots for efficient interaction with the ***-sensing adaptability can be achieved in soft robots by the integration of sensors and ***,current strategies simply assemble discrete sensors and actuators into one robotic system and,thus,dilute their synergistic and complementary connections,causing low-level adaptability and poor decision-making ***,inspired by vertebrate animals supported by highly evolved backbones,we propose a concept of a bionic spine that integrates sensing and actuation into one shared body based on the reversible piezoelectric effect and a decoupling mechanism to extract the environmental *** demonstrate that the soft robots equipped with the bionic spines feature locomotion speed improvements between 39.5%and 80%for various environmental *** importantly,it can also enable the robots to accurately recognize and actively adapt to changing environments with obstacle avoidance capability by learning-based gait *** envision that the proposed bionic spine could serve as a building block for locomotive soft robots toward more intelligent machine-environment interactions in the future.
