The presence of endogenous neural stem/progenitor cells in the adult mammalian brain suggests that the central nervous system can be repaired and regenerated after ***,whether it is possible to stimulate neurogenesis and reconstruct cortical layers II to VI in non-neurogenic regions,such as the cortex,remains *** this study,we implanted a hyaluronic acid collagen gel loaded with basic fibroblast growth factor into the motor cortex immediately following traumatic *** findings reveal that this gel effectively stimulated the proliferation and migration of endogenous neural stem/progenitor cells,as well as their differentiation into mature and functionally integrated ***,these new neurons reconstructed the architecture of cortical layers II to VI,integrated into the existing neural circuitry,and ultimately led to improved brain *** findings offer novel insight into potential clinical treatments for traumatic cerebral cortex injuries.

Circularly polarized luminescence （CPL） materials have been extensively studied in recent years owing to their widespread applications in 3D display,optical storage,optical anti-counterfeiting,and biological imaging,***（I） clusters have emerged as a promising candidate for CPL materials,driven by their cost-effectiveness,superior luminescent properties,precise structure,and low ***,the poor environmental stability of copper（I） clusters renders their synthesis and preservation challenging,thereby significantly impeding their ***,we have designed and synthesised a chiral double-coordinated ligand in order to construct copper（I） cluster nodes that can be further *** anticipated,by utilizing stepwise assembly strategy,a Cu4cluster node co-modified by chiral alkynyl ligands and triphenylphosphine was further assembled with Cd2+ions to obtain 2D layers structure,L/*** L/D-Cu4-Cd exhibits excellent stability and optical properties,including bright yellow emission,solvent-responsive luminescence,and CPL activity with a maximum glumup to 2.0×10-3,which shows potential applications in the WLED and *** interestingly,the material also exhibits deflection ability towards different wavelengths of linearly polarized light,showing certain potential in the preparation of circular polarizer.

li0.33MnO2 cathode material was synthesized by solid state reaction which showed a monoclinic *** situ synchrotron diffraction showed a reversible structural transition of li0.33MnO2 during li＋ insertion/***,it is difficult to determine the crystal structure of lithiated li0.33＋xMnO2 based on their poorly resolved diffraction *** difficulty was successfully resolved by X-ray absorption spectroscopy（XAS） and Raman scattering which are sensitive to the short-range ordering of material *** X-ray absorption fine structure shows the co-existence of corner-and edge-shared [MnO6] in li0.33MnO2,whereas only edge-shared [MnO6] in lithiated ***,the differences between the Raman spectra of li0.33MnO2 and li0.96MnO2 indicate the phase transition of the material with li＋ *** work shows that li0.33MnO2 transforms to monoclinic liMnO2 with li＋ *** phase transformation was suggested to evolve from the migration of Mn ions.

Defects-rich heterointerfaces integrated with adjustable crystalline phases and atom vacancies,as well as veiled dielectric-responsive character,are instrumental in electromagnetic *** methods,however,constrain their delicate ***,an innovative alternative is proposed:carrageenan-assistant cations-regulated(CACR)strategy,which induces a series of sulfides nanoparticles rooted in situ on the surface of carbon *** unique configuration originates from strategic vacancy formation energy of sulfides and strong sulfides-carbon support interaction,benefiting the delicate construction of defects-rich heterostructures in M_(x)S_(y)/carbon composites(M-CAs).Impressively,these generated sulfur vacancies are firstly found to strengthen electron accumulation/consumption ability at heterointerfaces and,simultaneously,induct local asymmetry of electronic structure to evoke large dipole moment,ultimately leading to polarization coupling,i.e.,defect-type interfacial ***“Janus effect”(Janus effect means versatility,as in the Greek two-headed Janus)of interfacial sulfur vacancies is intuitively confirmed by both theoretical and experimental investigations for the first ***,the sulfur vacancies-rich heterostructured Co/Ni-CAs displays broad absorption bandwidth of 6.76 GHz at only 1.8 mm,compared to sulfur vacancies-free CAs without any dielectric *** defects-rich heterostructures,this one-pot CACR strategy may steer the design and development of advanced nanomaterials,boosting functionality across diverse application domains beyond electromagnetic response.

Long-read sequencing reveals novel genetic polymorphisms in the major histocompatibility complex region and their impacts on the Han Chinese population

Human leukocyte antigen(HLA) genes in the major histocompatibility complex(MHC) region are crucial for immunity and are associated with numerous diseases and phenotypes. The MHC region's complexity and high genetic diversity make it challenging to analyze using short-read sequencing(SRS) technology. We sequence the MHC region of 100 Han Chinese individuals using both long-read sequencing(LRS) and SRS platforms at approximately 30X coverage to study genetic alterations and their potential functional impacts. LRS provides significantly greater coverage of the MHC region and eight classical HLA genes, particularly at the HLA-DRB1 locus, compared with SRS. We detect 78,249 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) using LRS, with 26.0% undetectable by SRS. Based on SNP and inferred HLA allele types, we construct an LRS-based MHC reference panel for the Han Chinese, containing approximately 2.6 times more genetic variants than the SRS-based Han-MHC reference panel. A phenome-wide association study assessing 26,024 phenotypes across 15 categories identifies significant associations for 7,879 independent variants(including 809 LRS-specific SNPs) with 409 phenotypes in nine categories. This analysis reveals 24 unreported HLA allele associations in the bioelectric and cellular categories. The conditional analysis identifies 530independent signals across the 409 phenotypes, including 28 previously unreported signals of eight classical HLA genes associated with 33phenotypes. Of the top-associated SNPs, 191 are detected by LRS only. Fine-mapping identifies 126 independent candidate causal SNPs for three immune-related cellular phenotypes, with 17 detected exclusively by LRS. Our study reveals previously unreported variants and their functional impacts in the MHC region, enhancing our understanding of genetic diversity and its potential biological implications in the Han Chinese population.

Objective: To analyze the frequency and spectrum of thalassemia mutations in amniotic fluid samples collected from Han and li people in Hainan province of ***: We carried out a retrospective analysis on prenatal diagnosis of amniotic fluid samples collected from pregnant women who may have next generation with high risks of medium or severe thalassemia between 2005 and 2016. Diverse fetal thalassemia genotypes and mutated alleles in Han and li people were analyzed and cmpared. Results: We examined 536 amniotic fluid samples from Han people and 588 from li people, among which 406 Han and 500 li samples were found to carry at least one thalassemia gene mutation, with a detection rate of 75.75% and 85.03%, respectively. Among all α-and β-thalassemia mutant alleles detected, the most frequently found mutations in Han and li samples were SEA-type of α-thalassemia and 41/42(–CTTT) of β-thalassemia, respectively. A total of 75 severe thalassemia cases were identified in Han samples and 53 in li samples. In most of these severe cases, parents chose to terminate pregnancy after being informed of thalassemia-related risks. Conclusions: The thalassemia mutations shows ethnic and area specificity, and that prenatal diagnosis for high-risk thalassemia carrier pregnant women is an efficient approach to prevent and control the occurrence of severe thalassemia in the high-prevalence areas.

Unlocking the stable interface in aqueous zinc-ion battery with multifunctional xylose-based electrolyte additives

The growth of dendrites and the side reactions occurring at the Zn anode pose significant challenges to the commercialization of aqueous Zn-ion batteries（AZIBs）. These challenges arise from the inherent conflict between mass transfer and electrochemical kinetics. In this study, we propose the use of a multifunctional electrolyte additive based on the xylose（Xylo） molecule to address these issues by modulating the solvation structure and electrode/electrolyte interface, thereby stabilizing the Zn anode. The introduction of the additive alters the solvation structure, creating steric hindrance that impedes charge transfer and then reduces electrochemical kinetics. Furthermore, in-situ analyses demonstrate that the reconstructed electrode/electrolyte interface facilitates stable and rapid Zn2+ion migration and suppresses corrosion and hydrogen evolution reactions. As a result, symmetric cells incorporating the Xylo additive exhibit significantly enhanced reversibility during the Zn plating/stripping process, with an impressively long lifespan of up to 1986 h, compared to cells using pure ZnSO4electrolyte. When combined with a polyaniline cathode, the full cells demonstrate improved capacity and long-term cyclic stability. This work offers an effective direction for improving the stability of Zn anode via electrolyte design, as well as highperformance AZIBs.
