Mobile edge computing(MEC)-enabled satellite-terrestrial networks(STNs)can provide Internet of Things(IoT)devices with global computing services.Sometimes,the network state information is uncertain or unknown.To deal with this situation,we investigate online learning-based offloading decision and resource allocation in MEC-enabled STNs in this paper.The problem of minimizing the average sum task completion delay of all IoT devices over all time periods is formulated.We decompose this optimization problem into a task offloading decision problem and a computing resource allocation problem.A joint optimization scheme of offloading decision and resource allocation is then proposed,which consists of a task offloading decision algorithm based on the devices cooperation aided upper confidence bound(UCB)algorithm and a computing resource allocation algorithm based on the Lagrange multiplier method.Simulation results validate that the proposed scheme performs better than other baseline schemes.

BACKGROUND Robotic surgery(RS)is gaining popularity;however,evidence for abdominoperineal resection(APR)of rectal cancer(RC)is scarce.AIM To compare the efficacy of RS and laparoscopic surgery(LS)in APR for RC.METHODS We retrospectively identified patients with RC who underwent APR by RS or LS from April 2016 to June 2022.Data regarding short-term surgical outcomes were compared between the two groups.To reduce the effect of potential confounding factors,propensity score matching was used,with a 1:1 ratio between the RS and LS groups.A meta-analysis of seven trials was performed to compare the efficacy of robotic and laparoscopic APR for RC surgery.RESULTS Of 133 patients,after propensity score matching,there were 42 patients in each group.The postoperative complication rate was significantly lower in the RS group(17/42,40.5%)than in the LS group(27/42,64.3%)(P=0.029).There wasno significant difference in operative time(P=0.564),intraoperative transfusion(P=0.314),reoperation rate(P=0.314),lymph nodes harvested(P=0.309),or circumferential resection margin(CRM)positive rate(P=0.314)between the two groups.The meta-analysis showed patients in the RS group had fewer positive CRMs(P=0.04),lesser estimated blood loss(Plications(P=0.002)than patients in the LS group.CONCLUSION Our study shows that RS is a safe and effective approach for APR in RC and offers better short-term outcomes than LS.

Based on the optical engine,the ignition characteristics,combustion process and soot emission characteristics of diesel under different 2-Methylfuran(MF) atmospheres were investigated by high-speed photography and in-cylinder combustion analysis technology.The results show that at the same main injection timing,the ignition time of reactivity controlled compression ignition(RCCI) combustion mode is earlier than pure diesel combustion,and the ignition point is concentrated near the nozzle.Diesel acts as a spark plug to ignite the mixture,but the flame develops slowly in the early stages and the pressure in the cylinder rises slowly.Compared with pure diesel,RCCI combustion model has smaller peak values of in-cylinder pressure and heat release rate,shorter ignition delay period,earlier combustion phase and shorter combustion duration.At main spray time at 6℃A BTDC and 12℃A BTDC,with the increase of MF premixing ratio from 0 to 0.75,the peak cylinder pressure decreased by 19.6% and 26% respectively.In addition,with the increase of the MF heat value ratio,the area of KL factor> 1.5 in the combustion chamber decreased and the space integral natural luminescence(SINL) peak value decreased by 48.37%,and the soot formation rate and yield decreased significantly.However,when the MF heat value ratio was too large(75% of the total calorific value),the ignition delay period increased,and misfire occurred at the main injection timing of 0℃A BTDC.The RCCI mode of MF/diesel dual fuel has better stability,and better control effect can be obtained at different main inj ection timing.

The construction of high-efficiency photoanodes is essential for developing outstanding photoelectrochemical(PEC)water splitting cells.Furthermore,insufficient carrier transport capabilities and sluggish surface water oxidation kinetics limit its application.Using a solvothermal annealing strategy,we prepared a nonstoichiometric In-S(NS)group on the surface of an In_(2)S_(3) photoanode in situ and unexpectedly formed a type II transfer path of carrier,thereby reducing the interfacial recombination and promoting the bulk separation.Firstprinciples calculations and comprehensive characterizations demonstrated NS group as an excellent oxygen evolution cocatalyst(OEC)that effectively facilitated carrier transport,lowered the surface overpotential,increased the surface active site,and accelerated the surface oxygen evolution reaction kinetics by precisely altering the rate-determining steps of*to*OH and*O to*OOH.These synergistic effects remarkably enhanced the PEC performance,with a high photocurrent density of 5.02 mA cm^(−2)at 1.23 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode and a negative shift in the onset potential by 310 mV.This work provides a new strategy for the in situ preparation of high-efficiency OECs and provides ideas for constructing excellent carrier transfer and transport channels.

Reconstructing enzymatic active sites presents a significant challenge due to the intricacies involved in achieving enzyme-like scaffold folding and spatial arrangement of essential functional groups.There is also a growing interest in building biocatalytic networks,wherein multiple enzymatic active sites are localized within a single artificial system,allowing for cascaded transformations.In this work,we report the self-assembly of imidazole or its derivatives with fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl-modified histidine and Cu2+to fabricate a supramolecular catalyst,which possesses catechol oxidase-like dicopper center with multiple imidazole as the coordination sphere.Transmission electron microscopy,low-temperature X-band continuous-wave electron paramagnetic resonance,K-edge X-ray absorption spectra/the extended X-ray absorption fine structure analysis,and density functional theory modeling were used for the structural characterization of the catalyst.The phenol derivatives and the dissolved oxygen were used as the substrates,with the addition of 4-aminoantipyrine to generate a red adduct with a maximum absorbance at 510 nm,for obtaining time-dependent absorbance change curves and estimating the activities.The results reveal that the addition of imidazole synergistically accelerates the oxidative activity about 10-fold and the hydrolysis activity about 14-fold than fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl modified-histidine/Cu2+.The supramolecular nanoassembly also exhibits the ability to catalyze oxidation/hydrolysis cascade reactions,converting 2′,7′-dichlorofluorescin diacetate into 2′,7′-dichlorofluorescein.This process can be regulated through the methylation of the imidazole component at various positions.This work may contribute to the design of advanced biomimetic catalysts,and shed light on early structural models of the active sites of the primitive copper-dependent enzymes.

Phase recovery(PR)refers to calculating the phase of the light field from its intensity measurements.As exemplified from quantitative phase imaging and coherent diffraction imaging to adaptive optics,PR is essential for reconstructing the refractive index distribution or topography of an object and correcting the aberration of an imaging system.In recent years,deep learning(DL),often implemented through deep neural networks,has provided unprecedented support for computational imaging,leading to more efficient solutions for various PR problems.In this review,we first briefly introduce conventional methods for PR.Then,we review how DL provides support for PR from the following three stages,namely,pre-processing,in-processing,and post-processing.We also review how DL is used in phase image processing.Finally,we summarize the work in DL for PR and provide an outlook on how to better use DL to improve the reliability and efficiency of PR.Furthermore,we present a live-updating resource(https://***/kqwang/phase-recovery)for readers to learn more about PR.

Charge density wave(CDW)is a phenomenon that occurs in materials,accompanied by changes in their intrinsic electronic properties.The study of CDW and its modulation in materials holds tremendous significance in materials research,as it provides a unique approach to controlling the electronic properties of materials.TiSe_(2) is a typical layered material with a CDW phase at low temperatures.Through V substitution for Ti in TiSe_(2),we tuned the carrier concentration in V_(x)Ti_(1-x)Se_(2) to study how its electronic structures evolve.Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)shows that the band-folding effect is sustained with the doping level up to 10%,indicating the persistence of the CDW phase,even though the band structure is strikingly different from that of the parent compound TiSe_(2).Though CDW can induce the band fold effect with a driving force from the perspective of electronic systems,our studies suggest that this behavior could be maintained by lattice distortion of the CDW phase,even if band structures deviate from the electron-driven CDW scenario.Our work provides a constraint for understanding the CDW mechanism in TiSe_(2),and highlights the role of lattice distortion in the band-folding effect.

Variations in the nutrients and water that plants require for metabolism,development,and the maintenance of cellular homeostasis are the main causes of abiotic stress in plants.It has,however,hardly ever been studied how these transporter proteins,such as aquaporin which is responsible for food and water intake in cell plasma mem-branes,interact with one another.This review aims to explore the interactions between nutrient transporters and aquaporins during water and nutrient uptake.It also investigates how symbiotic relationships inﬂuence the plant genome’s responses to regulatory processes such as photoperiodism,senescence,and nitrogenﬁxation.These responses are observed in reaction to various abiotic stresses.For instance,plasma membrane transporters are upregulated during macronutrient insufﬁciency,tonoplast transporters are overexpressed,and aquaporins are downregulated in micronutrient deﬁciency.Additionally,tolerant plants often exhibit increased expression of nutrient transporters and aquaporins in response to drought,salt,and cold temperatures.To better comprehend plant stress tolerance to abiotic challenges including starvation,K famine,salt,and freezing temperatures,both classes of nutrient and water transporters should be considered at the same time.

BACKGROUND The SETD1B gene is instrumental in human intelligence and nerve development.Mutations in the SETD1B gene have been linked in recent studies to neurodevelopmental disorders,seizures,and language delay.CASE SUMMARY This study aimed to analyze the clinical manifestations and treatment of three patients suffering from mental retardation,epilepsy,and language delay resulting from a new mutation in the SETD1B gene.Three individuals with these symptoms were selected,and their clinical symptoms,gene test results,and treatment were analyzed.This article discusses the impact of the SETD1B gene mutation on patients and outlines the treatment approach.Among the three patients(two females and one male,aged 8,4,and 1,respectively),all exhibited psychomotor retardation,attention deficit,and hyperactivity disorder,and two had epilepsy.Antiepileptic treatment with sodium tripolyvalproate halted the seizures in the affected child,although mental development remained somewhat delayed.Whole exome sequencing revealed new mutations in the SETD1B gene for all patients,specifically with c.5473C>T(p.Arg1825trp),c.4120C>T(p.Gln1374*,593),c.14_15insC(p.His5Hisfs*33).CONCLUSION Possessing the SETD1B gene mutation may cause mental retardation accompanied by seizures and language delay.Although the exact mechanism is not fully understood,interventions such as drug therapy,rehabilitation training,and family support can assist patients in managing their symptoms and enhancing their quality of life.Furthermore,genetic testing supplies healthcare providers with more precise diagnostic and therapeutic guidance,informs families about genetic disease risks,and contributes to understanding disease pathogenesis and drug research and development.
